CopMike Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Hi all! I'm in Australia for 2 weeks now to compete in the World Police & Fire Games: WPFG 2007 Adelaide My main event is Biathlon which I did pretty ok in last time in Quebec 2005: Results 2005 I was in MEN-SENIOR (B) - INDIVIDUAL & MEN-SENIOR-TEAM This is no bragging thread - just letting you know what I'm up to. I'll write a little about it each (hopefully) day. Game On copmike Quote

oo7 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Impressive. I wish you best of luck and enjoyment, officer. Yes, make sure to search all the supermarkets in Hobart for upset, shouting customers wearing sweaters embroidered with Lego Pirate paraphernalia. *y* Quote
Scouty Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 oo7: You know where MisterPhes lives? Well, do look for a hermit in the supermarkets! :-P I wish you the best of luck from here :-) . Quote

CopMike Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 Hi all! Here down under it's hot, about 26-30 degrees, and I've been told the beer is cold X-D! The opening ceremony had 25000 spectators & 8000 athletes - it was great! I'm off to my first event for the day, the biathlon. It's 1 mile run, then 6+6 shots at 25 meters distance against a target that's 10 cm wide for no penaltys, one more 1 mile run, 6+6 shots and then the last mile. Your running time + penatys each 10 sec for not hitting the 10 cm target gets your total. The bulk of the people competed yesterday and there were some fast guys in the race 8-| but I'll give it a go >:-)! And I'm in the team event also with a Belgian police, how about that Sne ;-) After that I have the stair race. It's a 30 floor building in Adelaide, their tallest actually, that you race from bottom to top in the stairs *wacko*! I can't complain because I just have my tracksuit on, the firefighters go full gear with their breathing aparatus on *y*! You're can take the elevator down from the top :-D! Sne: you're in the "Men senior" group? as in "only for the very old people who can't even outrun an astmatic turtle with an extra shield on his back"? X-D Used to be senior catagory but now I'm in the Master one >:-) All my powers will come in handy today! The LEGO-hunting isn't going very well but I'm waiting for some big boxes to arrive to the hotel next week X-D! Ok, gotta go and kick some Aussie megablocks >:-)! I'll be back! Game On copmike Quote

I feel sorry for the firemen. Running up a stairs in full gear while it's 30 Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Are these the rules of the contest or are the firemen doing this volanteerely to impress the local chicks? ;-) :-D X-D That was funny! To bad to hear about the LEGO hunt. Sne just told me (via msn) he would like to compeat with you CM at the event! Quote: -"How hard can it be to outrun an old man?" Can you do me a favor CM? Can you bring your digital camera when you run? It would be so cool to see when you shoot and run, not to talk about that stair race. Must be insanly fun to watch those Firefighters!! ;-) -Ras- Quote
CopMike Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 Aussie megablocks kicked >:-)! I took the gold medal in biathlon team with the belgien guy & bronze in the individuell :-$! And I won (paid for) a couple of cold ones at the games village/pub X-D! RAS - picture' s taken, just have to find a way to upload them :-/! Sne - let's have a little cross country run in Germany so you can shove us your olympic running scills X-D. KhoRne: Are these the rules of the contest or are the firemen doing this volanteerely to impress the local chicks? ;-) - Yes, isn't it a genious strategy X-D Gold On copmike Quote
snefroe Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Sne just told me (via msn) he would like to compeat with you CM at the event!Quote: -"How hard can it be to outrun an old man?" ;-) -Ras- did i just say that? *wacko* g... there must be something wrong the universal translator on msn then! X-D the fact is that mike will be neutralised in a very special way at the event... we'll just show him a picture of some stairs just a few seconds before the game and that will automatically trigger a traumatic experience he's had in australia leaving him paralised for the rest of the day... sure, that also means he won't be taking part in the rest of the event, but hey... making sacrafises is part of life... we'll just leave him there with this note "PLEASE SEND BACK TO SWEDEN" X-D Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 RAS - picture' s takenPictures? I was so hoping that you could film the whole race :'-( & bronze in the individuell :-$!I thought you said you was going to take gold this time? Was it that spanish guy that won again? And Sne really wan Quote
