I am currently in a hospital where mobiles are not allowed  I hope I will be out soon and should be able to check in daily as well.

Break a leg!

Oh wait you might've already done that... :look::poke:

There's also an 'of' in the solution that is impossible for it to be there. :look:

That was my mistake done when writing the conclusion. Palathadric was the only one out of everyone who got it right by the letter - including me, apparently.

That last word really wasn't fair though, Sandy.

To answer a few questions I got in private, proxying your actions to another player to post is not possible in this game. Everyone is responsible for sending their own actions.

And if you ask why, just think about the scum team proxying their actions to a single member who would then post them right at the beginning of each phase.

That last word really wasn't fair though, Sandy.

It was a title, and pretty much a direct translation of Lucifuge. Does it matter then that it isn't a word used in common speech?

Besides, as a foreign speaker of English, I simply cannot know every little nuance the language has. I figured that if you could say "Dragonslayer", you could say "Lightshunner" too.

I don't see how, it's already been discussed how some of the other words could be confused, simple/single, in/is, etc... I don't see how lightshunner/lightshunned should be any difference. Plus if you look up Lucifuge you'll see that he actively (as opposed to passively) fled from the light.

Sandy, once you said this to me:

So how does C.A.T work then?

I believe the spell that protects the Heroicans comes from the Aurora Nôrnalis (Quest 58), which (judging by the name) the Veterans didn't have until The Valkyrie joined and became a Veteran.

Wait a minute is she not among the veterans shown in CAT?

...searching...searching...

Yeah, I noticed when the game started that one of the Veterans was missing.

Pretty sure she replaced Lothoros, who died at the beginning of CAT.

So... was Lothoros linked to the Zeigfrieds (he didn't strike me to have the appearance of one who would), or was he linked to another house?

Then again, I guess he doens't need to be an Ether user to represent a House. Not all of the other veterans have obvious links.

No idea. He doesn't look like he was linked to any house.

Posted (edited)

Yep, each links to a house, though several are (at least to me) unknown:

The Falconer - Bonapartes

The Valkeyrie - Ziegfrieds

The Dragon Lord - Shadeaux

The Sand Queen - Unknown

The Feathered Serpent - Unknown

The Copper Fox - Unknown

Scheherazade - Wolfgang

I don't see that at all, except for the Falconer of course.

Well, I guess I should have guessed the Falconers and Dragon Lord's "houses", but I must have missed the link between the Valkeyrie and the Ziegfrieds.

Scheherazade - Wolfgang

Well, the Dragon Lord is a Dragoon, so he's got close ties with the Shadeaux, and the Valkyrie is the only one who appears to be an Ether user, which suggests Ziegfried ties (doesn't confirm, but for linkings sake). Also, the Norns worship Helvetia, the Goddess of Necromancy, so I'd assume there'd be major tie-ins with her and the Ziegfrieds.

So, is the link between Veterans and Houses not a common assumption? I thought it was done to demonstrate just how ingrained the Houses are both to the Eubric way of life, and Heroica itself.

Really? :look: The Falconer was shown to be a Prophet, the Copper Fox a Mime, and I assume the Sand Queen had some sort of Ethereal powers. I didn't even known the Valkyrie was a mage...

Whoops. Completely forgot their classes. But yeah, the Valkyrie was a Battle Mage.

Which one would that be? :look:

I'd assume he means the dragoon, the dragonlord.

What I've noticed is the pre-CAT heroica is older, more gender balanced and much more multicultural/mutlispecied than the newer iteration.

And unless every AC and EC started as rogues (where possible) it much more class balanced too.

(Note, this is not meant to imply a judgement on either iteration of Heroica as to which is better or worse...)

I was under the impression that the Dragonlord got his Dragoon skills directly from Dastan, not from the Shadeaux. This idea is reinforced by the only Dragoon in CAT (U'Dargan) being a U'kin, a species that hails primarily from Dastan.

I'd assume he means the dragoon, the dragonlord.

I fully plan (and, actually, request) that when the game is over, I'd like to see the bios for every character involved. I have a couple of NPCs coming up who have experience with these pre-Purge Heroes, so I'd like to tie in when and how I can.
