pbeishuizen Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Hello, I'm a 27 year old AFOL living in Leiden, the Netherlands, with my fiancee and cat. I grew up on a farm with 2 brothers, and between the 3 of us we collected most of the technic sets from between 1990 and 2002 (Sadly just missed the test car), with the models never lasting more than 2 weeks before being taking apart for MOC's of mostly tractors and other farm-related equipment. After that, other interests and college let to the dark ages, until around 2010 when my girlfriend dragged me into a lego brand store in Berlin, where I bought the snow groomer. Since then I've been collecting technic sets and some creator sets, and started a bit with some of my own builds which I might post someday if I'm happy enough with the results. After 2 years of browsing the different forums and blogs I finally decided to join (triggered by some news on the 2014 sets). Quote
Alfadas Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Welcome to Eurobricks. I live in the Netherlands too. So, your girlfriend got you back into LEGO? lol. Good to hear you are back in LEGO. The more the better. Fiancee now, right, so you are getting married? Congratulations , good luck with your soon-to-be-wife. Quote
Herky Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Welcome! Nice that your fiancee is supportive, my wife is more at the tolerant stage now...I think she sees the money spent on all the Lego's and it sometimes irks her, so hopefully you will not get into that. Enjoy the site! Quote
Holodoc Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Hi pbeishuizen! I used to study in Leiden 20 years ago, first Kaarsenmakersstraat and then op het Rapenburg. Nice town! Creator is a good choice and (fairly) cheap as well to start over again. Welcome aboard EB and feel free to ask me, if something is unclear around here. Quote
Legogal Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Welcome aboard, pb! Glad to hear your fiancee is into LEGO! Maybe she will build some of the sets with you. It is a great family activity because you can look at the build afterwards and remember the good time putting it together with others. We especially enjoy building together the Creator and Architecture sets, and own many Technics as well. Folks are quite helpful on this forum, so feel free to post your questions. Cheers! Quote
