therealjustin Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I made a list of the extra parts needed to build the boom from the Ultimate 42009. Quote
TinkerBrick Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) Good morning fellow builders! When i beta tested the instructions for Jurgen back in August i lacked of the listed 2nd L-Motor. Since a M-Motor has more torque than needed for extending the boom, I mounted an M-motor in the engine compartment of the upperstructure. I took some pictures with my smartphone, but never fund time to post them. Finally, here we go: Please excuse the low quality of the pics, it was late in the evening. I reinforced the mounting solution with part 2817: Edited October 11, 2013 by TinkerBrick Quote
CisFran Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Thanks, that would be a cheaper solution, I would definitely try that..I already have all the parts, except for the extra L motor Quote
skriblez Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Taking apart the crane takes almost as long as building it :P Got all the PF components and using whatever parts i need from 8053. Missing one of the panels but it will be ordered when i need it :) Quote
legolijntje Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Taking apart the crane takes almost as long as building it :P Well, I will take it apart next week (so I can build the remote version the following week). Wish me luck Quote
skriblez Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) Tip for taking it apart, separate all the parts when you are dissembling it. I only split the parts in 2 boxes. Not a smart idea at all Scouring my other sets for the parts i don't have other than the yellow panel im missing. Bought the wrong extention cables since i'm an idiot Edited October 16, 2013 by skriblez Quote
camaudio Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Just finished the chassis of this model, everything works really well so far. Thanks again for the ultimate instructions :) Quote
wimpie3 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I've build the Ultimate and added flashing lights... Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Looks cool, how did you create the flashing lights? Quote
therealjustin Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I ordered the parts for the boom and they should arrive any day now. The only issue was the yellow 32184 which I cannot find anywhere. Quote
skriblez Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 (edited) So i finally finished the Ultimate. Since i was an idiot when taking it apart it took me for ever to find all the parts (divided into 2 IKEA bowls :P ) My other sets had a few parts stolen from them but they are mostly sets i don't really like or show so it wasn't that big of a deal. Sets that are now just skeleton creations of their former self are: 8053, 8069 and 8067. I see that i have made a mistake while i put it together as the front stabilizers don't want to come out, they go down but not out. Other than that it seems to all be working and its really fun to the child in me with everything remote controlled :) Thank you very much for the instructions and your creation Jurgen :) Will be getting a 8043 in parts this weekend so its going to be made ultimate right away :) Picture of the beast along with some other Lego and a bunch of parts. Some weird colors on the model i know, they will be changed when i get the parts ordered ;) Edited October 26, 2013 by skriblez Quote
jantjeuh Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 The only issue was the yellow 32184 which I cannot find anywhere. It's very rare in yellow, I got lucky and bought 4 from a fellow Eurobricker. Quote
therealjustin Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I just found two for sale in the U.S. and I can use some light gray or black pieces for the other two. Quote
leksivalen Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I made that same mistake also... the stabilizer won't come out.. it seems like the gears are also engage to the gears for turning left or right. I wonder if somebody could tell me which part of the instruction I made a mistake. So i finally finished the Ultimate. skriblez Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) Here is a picture if that helps. http://skriblez.com/42009%20Ulti.jpg If the red arrow works follow that connection all the way up to see if it's connected Edited November 29, 2013 by skriblez Quote
Yvan Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I had so much fun building Jurgen's ultimate 42009! Many thanks to Jurgen to provide these excellent building instructions, a nice step up to the regular LEGO instructions, much more challenging... Except for the metal hook, I was surprised to have no missing parts... Maybe my wife is right and I did buy too many Technics sets the last years Quote
brucey86 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I m in need of help. With the controls of the crane what control is meant to do what? Please help Quote
DrJB Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 The stickers usually tell u exactly what lever does what ... Quote
brucey86 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 There no stickers on it. Its the upgraded model from that jurgens technic corner. Quote
bricky300 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Just try it out ;) Switch from one Channel to the next and look what ot does. Or you could follow the way from the function tothe motor to the reciever and look on what port and channel it is Edited December 11, 2013 by bricky300 Quote
brucey86 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Was just wondering if someone who build it could give me some info? Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Sorry, I forgot to include this info in the instructions: Channels for the receivers on the truck are 2 (Red/blue) and 3 (orange/yellow) Channels on the crane are 1 (fwhite/orange) and 4 (blue/red). The joystichs have channels 1 to 4 from left to right. Edited December 11, 2013 by Jurgen Krooshoop Quote
