Sariel Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Great to have a look in kitchen... It's all fun and games but try to make any meal without hamsters raising hell to get some of it ;) Quote
allanp Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 You have multiple hamsters?! I thought there was only one. The magic of the movies! Is there one star hamster and then a stunt hamster? Quote
dr_spock Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Hamster actor's union contract may say one hamster can only work so many minutes before mandatory rest and feed period. Quote
Sariel Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 There are always two hamsters, so that I can work with the one that isn't sleeping at the moment :) Quote
Freekysch Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Very nice working place you got there, I must admit that I envy you . Happy MOCing. Quote

Jim Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I've only just got my shed & now it looks like I'm going to have to get a kitchen added Is that a good or a bad thing? Quote
grum64 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Is that a good or a bad thing? Depends what's in the fridge Quote

Sorry for my frankness, but I wonder, have there even been a woman? Quote
Sariel Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Sorry for my frankness, but I wonder, have there even been a woman? Sorry for my frankness, but just because you're invited to take a look at my home and my "hobby area" doesn't mean you're invited to peek under my duvet. It's amazing how some people confuse these two. Quote
Kristof Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 ^ Perfect response Don't you offer some 'how to reply with style' courses? I'd sign up Quote
Jeka Jackson Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Sorry for I've touched the sick theme, I couldn't expect that there remain complexes after opening your doors worldwide Quote
Sariel Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I don't know what complexes you mean or what you expected or what is your problem in general, you clearly didn't understand what I said. If you think that visiting someone's home entitles you to investigate their sex life, then I guess you don't get many invitations. Quote
Jim Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I think Jeka didn't properly phrased what he meant to say. Anyway; let's get back to working spaces, and leave Sariel's private life private Quote
grum64 Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Taking Jims very good advice to get the conversation back to our working spaces, a small update on my shed. At long last sparky's been and worked his magic so my shed now has power. The 5 double sockets are in and the lights are up. I've gone for fluorescent tubes as they should be cheap to run, long lasting and they do provide great light. I've a 5' one to illuminate the end of the shed that'll be used for storage and 4' above my build table. Next job. Insulation. As I really feel the cold I've decided on 50mm Celotex to help keep the shed warm. The downside to choosing this is it's cost, it's far more expensive than I thought it was going to be. After a few minutes online I came across a local company that sells Celotex 'seconds'. These are sheets of Celotex that might have a crease in the backing foil, a small chip off a corner/edge, a surface dent etc,. All the sheets are perfectly useable they just haven't passed Celotex's strict quality controls. 1200mm x 2400mm x 50mm sheets cost around half the price as those from anywhere else meaning big savings. Not much will get done next week as we have our eldest Son's wedding but after that it'll be full speed ahead to get the shed finished before the colder weather arrives. Pictures will follow when there's tangible progress. Edited November 28, 2015 by grum64 Quote
paul_delahaye Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I've gone for fluorescent tubes as they should be cheap to run, I could be wrong, but is fluorescent lighting not one of the causes of yellowing of white bricks over time? Not that this should be a reason not to use fluorescent lighting, as it's fairly cheap to run and gives good general light for the money. Quote

I've heard various reasons for the yellowing of white bricks but I've not heard anything about fluorescent lighting causing it before. It's too late now I know but out of interest, anyone have any more info about this? Thanks for the heads up. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Does anybody here use the 4' LED strip lights like this? http://www.lowes.com/pd_595731-43921-MXL2006-LED2X24K840_1z11k3pZ1z11owhZ1z140qi__?productId=999911231&pl=1 I'm wondering how well they work. I don't like the flicker the many fluorescent lights have, and I'm thinking about going LED once I get my LEGO room set up. I need to find some nice organizers too, and this thread has been great for ideas. Quote
