But it probably was for the best as you guys might have inspired me so much that I destroyed my home life.

Man, you may be more serious than you in fact intend, as this was the primary trouble I ran into over the last few months. It wasn't a lack of ideas or time that got to me, but a wife who expected me to do something with her from time to time... No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get her to see eye to eye with me on the importance of the Kaliphlin Civil War! I hope Ch. V in Nocturnus does not end in a divorce for me...

But, all this trash-talking aside, I hope everyone can agree with me that the last three months have been a phenomenal time for GoH, if not a tad stressful. I feel like my building ability grew by leaps and bounds, and considering the amazing entries we've seen for Ch. IV, I think others feel the same way. But that reminds me, we've still got A,B and D to go!

I suppose Garmadon and I should enjoy our single days... :look::laugh::tongue:

I do think that this last category has really helped my building skills especially in the area of speed building, which is doubtless a valuable skill! Speaking of speed building, I'm starting to be afraid that I'll have to do a lot more of that if I want to get all the other three categories done!

I'd recommend stating in the beginning post that each person should only make one post in the thread and then edit it. It's kind of a pain to scroll through dozens of posts by the same three or four builders, which seemed to happen last time.

I agree, ME, I think this is the most I have built since joining GoH, Kai and Garmadon, I think both of your skills improved in this challenge, and I also have to hand it to you guys for keeping us on are toes the whole time.

Once again Kali hits triple digit pages in the Guild thread before the others :wink:

And pretty much like in this war, members of the other guild did the major work.

Poor Kaliphlin. A guild that is divided against itself...

And how can Ulandus speak of liberation, while they send enslaved Leanders to war? And let us not forget one of the darkest chapters of their history; how they slaughtered three rebelling legions of Leanders.

Has anyone heard from SarahJoy? I've been waiting a month to post a build in Ruadh because I'd like her to approve it first. We talked about what I would build and the story ahead of time (and I really don't foresee any problems), so I'm wondering if I should just post it, and if she has problems with it when she returns I can edit it. I've got almost three builds finished after this one to post that are part of the same story line.

And just wanting to double check, Petraea is no one in particular's city, and is open for all to build in, correct?

In this case, i agree with you

I was actually being quite serious. Two jobs, two kids, wife, and school leaves little time for serious building.

Was sort of expecting it to continue into "two wives"...

But I totally feel with you - Exams stunted my ability to enter anything in the last few warzones. But as they are over on thursday, maybe I will get something in on A, B, and/or D!

One woman is enough for me. Good thing it is culturally prefered to only have one wife now.... If I had to have a harem to keep up with the social norm, I'd just plain go nuts.....

Would have expected that from a Kaliphlinite.

I'm sorry that I couldn't keep up my speed from the first few weeks of Challenge IV, but family (2 kids now) and work (managing 10 people here and another 15 in our office in India, while also working on recruiting more and working with organizational improvement simultaneously, takes more time than 8 h a day...) got the better of me this time. On top of that I had two Lego-related weekends away from my family in May, one to our major annual LUG gathering and one trip to the "holy of holies" (Billund! We got to visit the molding factory, Lego exhibition and even go down into the Vault where they have saved an unopened copy of every set ever produced. MISB 6086!). While that was great, the payment for these trips was a promise to my wife to stay away from my bricks from May 1st until further notice.

Short version: Sorry for not building for the later 2/3 of Challenge IV, hoping to be in better shape for Challenge V or at the very latest Book III ! :classic:

Inspiration just struck! Not for GOH (or even Lego), but for a bit of historical time travel fiction. It came in a stream of consciousness, and I had to type it immediately. Here's the bit that grabbed me:

"She danced around, beyond the veil somewhere. It didn't matter in that moment how she had gotten there, or if she would return. She was motion; to a rhythm that wasn't quite sound, traversing a bridge made of spirit."

I am very happy now, since I had been struggling to write all day. My focus had been on sci-fi, but my muse has decided otherwise. Hopefully this creative spurt can get me building again, too.

I have two embassies in the works: the one in Nocturnus (at 64x64) is nearing completion, and the one in Mitgardia (at 32x32) has the sidewalk and front landing laid out.

I've been pretty quiet in here since I went on travels, I think I got pretty much burned out by Challenge D. I am going to focus on Andromeda's Gate for now (Kawashita of course!) because I can go back to smaller builds with it and challenge myself with new styles and techniques.
