I would say post a pic in here, and give it its own topic maybe tag it {CFA} (Cotton for Avalonia)

Nice challenge Ska. I will probably sit out for this one (maybe next time) due to being in the middle of a couple builds (and having a piece shortage).

That is cool, just trying to keep a lot of interest going in the guild and out of the guild. I know some of you have to fill your need for tasks through LCC...

Hello everyone! Sorry to be absent for so long; I think I haven't checked in since February. I probably won't have much time for building (as usual), but will try to follow at least this thread…

It's been a rough few months -- I spent most of the winter on the east coast attending to my parents. My father passed away at the end of February, and then I spent most of March helping my mother get her life reorganized. I'm back in Kaliphornia now. However, my son has totally trashed the LEGO collection (meaning: huge amount of bricks everywhere, not sorted at all), and I'm not feeling motivated to clean up or sort. And the weather has been so beautiful out here, it's hard to justify staying indoors.

Anyway, I'll try to go back and look at the discussions of new cities a few pages back and see if the maps need to be updated. Someone wanted a location where multiple rivers come together -- not sure off the top of my head where's the best place for that. I'll be away this weekend, but will try to get on top of things on Monday. Great to see the new members, and all the great new builds!

And to whoever had the kidney stones (Kayne?), I feel your pain, man. Had one a few years ago, and I've never felt pain anywhere close to that bad. The nurses in the hospital said that women with kidney stones say that it's as bad or worse as the pain at childbirth. My doctor made me give up soft drinks afterwards; apparently they're one of the causes.

Sorry to hear your sad news NM. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Update from Kaliphlin: the Drow have invaded Avalonia, Kaliphlin has had to build up a Navy in response to provocation from Mitgardia, Sultan's Gate is up and running, there was an oil delivery challenge to Mitgardia and now bandages delivery to Avalonia. We have been joined by some great new members. Welcome back!

I'm sorry to hear that NM....my thoughts and prayers are with you. Yes, it was me with the kidney stones. Definitely painful, and I too have given up soft drinks. It's been 2 months....and I still want to drink some! I used to drink about 3 liters a day. That was definitely my problem, as that was way too unhealthy

Far to long I have waited for this moment, but now I humbly apply to join the Kaliphlin.

Here is my sigfig: Kael, who's background story I will tell in a separate thread. With hopefully some freebuilds to portrait his story.

I also randomly picked three cards to influence his freebuild storyline.

About me (mechamike):

Im not a really a castle builder, Im more of a Space /Military /Sw builder but Gideon and DeGothia has inspired me to seek new ground's.

I find landscaping interesting and I really like to make dioramas to my moc's. I also fancy story telling since my role playing game sessions back in the late 80's

(dice and paper not computer rpg)

Hopefully I will contribute with some builds in the future, I have a few free builds on the shelf prepared, but Im a lousy photographer..

I will also try to be a part of the quests presented.

Cheers/mechamike

Welcome mechamike! Great to have you here, I hope you enjoy yourself. Your photos look pretty good to me! I look forward to learning Kael's story. Space is my first love too but I find I am doing all of my building in History now.

Welcome mechamike!

Good to see you back NM, even if just briefly...

I should have a good amount of time during the next month so I will be doing my best to build some Sultan's Gate builds after catching up with the GNAR and the Avalonian cotton challenge.

I like what I'm seeing in terms of Kaliphlin free builds by the way! Keep up the good work guys! And congrats robuko, well deserved front page!

   I spend weeks on a highly technical, original, intricate, nicely presented Sultan's Gate build, then get my first ever front page for some 1-hour derpy tablescrap! That's pretty funny! Thanks Kai! Looking forward to your new builds. And thanks Ecc for highlighting. I hope the racing snail can interest some new members.

That is kinda funny, the way you put it.

It's actually a good point though; often builds that just seem to pop together end up better than ones I agonize over! - at least, it happens to me!

Sorry to hear that NM!

Welcome mechamike to the friendly Kaliphlin guild! Looking forward to seeing your builds and hearing the story of Kael! :classic:

Of course you are allowed to make him interact with my sigfig, just remember that the City Council of Barqa does not look mildly on acting on the wrong side of the law! (Except for when it benefits the Council )
