Yzalirk Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Anyone feel up to quickly recapping the past three to four months of GoH for me? Or should I just read a hundred pages of posts... Since I joined in July, the best recap I can give is that more people join Kaliphlin and the GoH, people have been posting great MOCs, and we're on Book II but I'm sure you know that. Also, I have some interesting news! I usually email BrickWarriors with few suggestions and I've learned that they've had an idea with a mask that would fit with the Brute Armor but never actually created it. They may go back to designs and possibly might create something! It's not guarenteed but I thought it was awesome to share with you guys. I also wish BrickWarriors could make armor like this and this! These would be amazing and I'd easy buy like 30 sets of each. Quote
Scaevola Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 There's a session at Bricks by the Bay called: "Sorting and Storage Roundtable." Maybe I'll get them to discuss storing and building LEGO with a puppy! Anyone feel up to quickly recapping the past three to four months of GoH for me? Or should I just read a hundred pages of posts... The Avalonian "Civil War" occurred when Drow invaded most of Avalonia. Lord Varis divided the guild under a joint rule by de Gothia and Simon_S. de Gothia and his side combated a plague, while Simon's side repelled the Drow. Also, the Mount Up! mini challenge is also going on for all guilds. Quote

It seems like discussion on the guild threads is slowly dying. We need more members in GoH! Edited August 8, 2014 by Behemoth Quote
Simon_S Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 We're just building instead of writing... at least in Avalonia . Quote

Maxim I Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Yes, my army is sorted :D and my bricks are sorted as well :) next week will be MOC'ing week :) Quote
Yzalirk Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 We're just building instead of writing... at least in Avalonia . I plan to get a few builds up next month, not all GoH builds but a fair share. I don't know if anyone likes the "Fallout" series but that's an insight as to what I'll be doing in the near future. Or maybe we just need more of you.... Anyway I'm going to start working I'm my first build soon. Just need to get my table sorted. I have it all planned out, Mostly.... More of me would be great, but scientists would rather clone sheep than me! I'm looking forward to see what you can concoct. I've seen some of your Star Wars builds and I feel confident that you'll make something really good. Will it conclude your sig-fig? Yes, my army is sorted :D and my bricks are sorted as well :) next week will be MOC'ing week :) Can't wait! I should also sort my bricks out but I don't have any containers and I'm more focused on buying pieces than drawers if anything! Quote

Yzalirk Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Yes it will be my Sig-Figs story and how she joined the army. Sweet, I can't wait! Make it interesting! I should also make my sig-fig but I don't have the parts yet. But I've just decided on my concept - Orcs, been cursed for defying Gods, interested in science and technology, and hate humans. There will be vignettes that explain the story better. Later on in the future, I may change my race and character depending if LEGO makes different types of Elves (like Dark Elves or something) Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I do agree, not many posts beside Behemoth. I would like LEGO to make some dark elves. I should start soting once i get more drawers. I have three tables with legos scattered everywhere! Quote

I might just get one if it's under $30, know any good ones? Quote

gedren_y Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I use a variety of containers. I have several Lego set containers of varying sizes, a few classroom size marker boxes, a large number of craft storage bins of varying sizes, lots of gallon and sandwich bags, five round candy corn/pumpkins/Autumn mix containers (clear), three TLG Advent Calendar trays, a few cardboard boxes and two large Sterilite containers. This reminds me, I have to give my parts a good sorting soon. Quote

Simon_S Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 You don't really "need" drawers to have a sorting system. I have my whole collection sorted in some large bins, LEGO boxes, old boxes of board games, ice cream boxes and much other stuff. I bought a cheap cabinet and put all boxes in there to avoid that my dear LEGO gets dusty. That works perfectly, doesn't need a lot of space and is easy to do . Quote

I suppose, most of my LEGO's are getting dusty though and a drawer system would fit well in my closet. And I see you're a few posts away from becoming a Knight! Quote

My family is always telling me I need to get a better drawer system, get more organized, and sort my legos, but to me they're already "organized", because I know where I've put everything... It would be nice to have all of my bins/tubs/drawer/etc. of legos all sorted out and organized by color, but there's just so much. I have started to organize by color somewhat, at least the colors I use the most, such as grays, blues, tans, blacks, whites, greens, etc... But I haven't gone all the way yet. Quote

Gideon Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I'll probably organize by color too. Better to organize by part, or even better by color and part, at least for the more common colors Although I have to admit that I'm starting to put some parts together again with different colors as it's easier to find a tan curved slope among light and dark bley curved slopes than having to find it jn the "assorted tan parts to few to merit their own compartment" box... I already found something for about $30 but thanks for the suggestion. Also, quick question - Can my things be a little bit "Steampunk-ish" in the sense that there are few mechanical things that run on Coal or something, maybe magic? I was thinking about my little portion of Kaliphlin is like an empire but filled with "scum"... Quote
