I have a question for you all. Should I continue using yellow or fleshy minifigs? I feel that fleshy has more details but yellow has more simplistic faces, plus the wide range of yellow themes. Will you help me?

I dabbled in fleshies, but I've settled on yellow- seems more "Lego". At the end of the day it's your decision how you approach it- we can all appreciate a Moc regardless of the fleshiness/yellowness of it!

I use fleshies for the elves (due to the ears on the lotr hairpieces) and yellows for the rest, as I much prefer the classic look of the yellow figs. Yet, I am open for a wider use of the colours, for instance to discern race or origin :)

Same here for the same reasons, and because of the nice yellow CMF heads. I have yet however almost not built anything with my fleshie elves yet...

Well, I was planning on doing a Cat A entry but simply couldn't think of anything good (so it morphed into this). Actually, after the first deadline I felt like it might be slightly hypocritical to do another one myself...

Anyway, Garmadon and I finished our collectible series:

Hopefully I'll have a free-build in a few weeks!

I've been busy the last few days- I won best in my category at Brickvention! I will try and get the Moc up in the next few day.

I'm stumped on something guys and hopefully you guys can help me out. Okay, so, I want to build a ship but I don't want to buy a set that has one. If I buy parts for the hull of the ship, like this and this, what do I need to add or cover up the part that is the "gap" and what would I need to make say a captain's quarters? I also need to know this for some Steampunk things I plan to build. :sweet:

And since I'm asking about parts, maybe anyone can recognize the tracks from this image? Same applies to this image and this image.

@Goliath The tracks on #1 are from a city bulldozer of some description, #2 is from the star wars hail-fire droid, and #3 is from the indiana jones jungle cutter. Hope this helps.

Have you looked up instructions for the TLG pirate ships that use those parts? http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/scans/6286-1/?ct=1 Looks like LEGO uses inverted slopes if I understand your question. Also, for general shipbuilding advise, the pirate forum here is probably the best place.

Yes, this does help a lot! Thank you. :classic:

Good call. Your link doesn't work for me but I'll ask there. Why did I not think of that?

I had an idea yesterday that found its way into bricks today. Since the destruction of my Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus, I haven't had much motivation to build, but today I actually got some work done on the redesign. I may do a small build for Quest for the Egg Part Two that will be more story, as the current design for that build has stalled. I also have the base for my Nestlands Embassy in Mitgardia waiting to be fleshed out. I'm still deciding the particulars for that build.

Very illuminating  ! Been meaning to buy some lighting. What do you think? Easy to use? Well-constructed?

Reasonably well made, I bought the AAA powered one hence the fact that I can't quite fit the battery box under the waterfall. The battery box dimensions are roughly 7 studs by 3 1/2. Theres also the chip which you connect the LEDs to. I would probably recommend this one (http://lifelites.com/products/110) if you dont need more than 4 light connection points, and dont mind using button batteries.

Edit: I got these ones http://lifelites.com...products/132.

I got some major work done on my Nestlands Embassy in Nocturnus. The outer wall is nearly complete. I have a corner tower mostly done. I still need to finish the bedrock, as well as the outer and inner facades of the wall. When that's finalized, I will be able to apply it to the baseplates and finish the courtyard layout. My ideas seem to have snowballed again. I am looking at a 64x64 corner of the actual embassy to be represented.

Which reminds me, if anyone has time to do a quick, somewhat minimalist, 16x16 - 32x32 scene in the next two weeks, let me know. I might not have time to finish every plot MOC that I was planning.
