Kadabra Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 We haven't seen anything to suggest that we can't pass and use in the same Day. I think the Night killing was what Kharybdis was saying someone with a Watcher/Tracker action should try to account for. That's right. Anybody with a Telescope should keep it secret and use it on the person who has the glass to see if anyone is screwing about with them.
Duvors Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) "Perhaps we can wait a day or a night before buying this glass. It may be that then we will have some information to go on. The younger races are always racing to get everything done. Observation never hurts. Some may die, but their sacrifice will allow the survivors to play with a better hand." Zelphie buzzes a frequency and stares ahead. "We are heroes." "I have never quested with our gorgeous little alchemist, but it is my opinion that all those who play at God, as alchemists are wont to do, have a screw or two loose. It does not make them anymore evil than those who walk instead of fly." "Play at deity, I have nae, never tried tae make life, I have, shown profound respect fer deities, I have!"By the end Luridan was shouting, it was obvious that he was deeply offended. Suddenly calming down and turning to Lorth, Luridan said "Magnifying glass, will ye please give us?" Edited August 28, 2013 by Lord Duvors
Kadabra Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Oh, I see. The watch would make scum hesitant to kill the glass user, though.
Brickdoctor Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 "Wait, you need a magnifying glass? I have one here, feel free to ask!"
Kadabra Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 "No, keep your glass. It'd be better if it was secret, like I said, but use it to create a redundancy in the system. That'll help. Also if anyone else has a glass keep it secret and use it to check up on those who have public glasses to make sure they aren't bamboozling us.

I think the Night killing was what Kharybdis was saying someone with a Watcher/Tracker action should try to account for. He's thinking that the Glass-user might be killed every Night since the scum will know who it is. "'M just as afraid o' Confusion, act'ally. Nothin' worse than losin' two Quest-mates ta mistrust when ya could've lost only one. 'Specially when 'ey were some o' tha only Heroes ya could act'ally call 'decent'..." "Want me to explain idea again, anyone does?" "I'd call it 'obfuscatin' ' rather than 'explainin' ', actually. An' tha answer's 'no'. Don' think I'd be out o' line by sayin' I speak for all o' us on tha' one..." Kob would like to mention that now would be an excellent time to shield the loud mouthed poet. Kob no longer likes rhyming couplets. "Back in Tarok, tha's wha' we'd call an 'unnersta'ment'," a mirror near the gallery says.

Brickdoctor Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 "Explain it better, I can, speak like ye, I can, have to sing, I will." We understood you the first time. But your idea was, "Only attack when necessary and attack at Night." Firstly: Well, obviously. Why would we attack if we didn't have a reason to? And secondly: attacking the hero we want dead only at Night will make it even harder to tell who's actually attacking whom. Seems like your idea would be a great way to make it even more difficult to detect when scum are attacking townies Hall-ies.

The problem with your idea is that it's half common sense (attack only when necessary) and half just plain bad advice (attack your suspicions at night). If you're confident in your suspicions attack publicly so everyone can see and make observations and judgements. If you're town, you should open yourself to scrutiny whenever it's logical, as depriving the town of information is always scummy.

Flipz Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Calico's idea grows in appeal by the second. "A thought--we're all strong 'nough tha' wec'n attack both day an' night. If needs be, we c'n mark someone fer death at Nigh' as well as in tha Day, so we wouldn't be wastin' as much if we got rid o' a troublesome Hero early on. Still not somethin' ta do lightly, but if it continues ta cause problems..." "Dear gods: if ye be at all real an' aren't naught but ancien' rites an' hokey religions, hear my plea: jus' strike us all down now b'fore we have ta tolerate any more o' 'is madness. An' send us ta a diff'ren' af'erlife than 'im, if af'erlives exist. Hel, I'd e'en settle fer tha Void itself--it'd be less painful."

Kadabra Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 And we only need 10 or so heroes to off him since he's got 41 HP and we've got WP between 2 and 6, so it really wouldn't be too huge a drain on our resources to just get rid of him. "Ne'er done anything like this before, I have, expect, what do ye?" Luridan snaps, "Reason, ye must show." You're not the only newbie here, yet you're the only one whose head we're clamoring for. Maybe there's a reason for that?

"Might be a bit of a drain on his resources" added Calico mischievously and quite suddenly from a seat opposite the saloon from the one she'd been occupying previously, not far from Luridan. The satisfaction in her eyes and the larger pouch at her side made it clear she'd just stolen from the gremlin. "At least now he's contributed one thing towards, like, ACTUALLY helping us find scum."

The satisfaction in her eyes and the larger pouch at her side made it clear she'd just stolen from the gremlin. "At least now he's contributed one thing towards, like, ACTUALLY helping us find scum." Ha, clever. I don't really want to off a potential hero this early, but leaving dangerous items in the hands of those who might mouse them is hardly a good idea. In fact... One of Kharybdis's arms transformed into a long, thin tentacle, which snaked into Luridan's pocket, then retracted with a stolen item attached to a suction cup. ... I'll emulate you.
Brickdoctor Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 "Tae talk normal(fer non-gremlins), sing, I need tae, my brain, trained that way tis." Then you're just exchanging one distracting quirk for another. That doesn't help. If you're going to talk normally, just talk normally. Enough of the roleplaying acting true to your heritage. I understand it, I don't want to disrespect it, but if you're going to claim that you're helping by refraining from speaking in an accent, then actually fix the problem instead of singing instead.

Also if anyone else has a glass keep it secret and use it to check up on those who have public glasses to make sure they aren't bamboozling us. Agreed. I've said earlier that redundancies would make me feel better about the system. This could also help rooting out scum even faster. If anything, I think this reveal is an advantage, not a waste of gold. And we only need 10 or so heroes to off him since he's got 41 HP and we've got WP between 2 and 6, so it really wouldn't be too huge a drain on our resources to just get rid of him. Give us a phase, and I can contribute a bomb to the list. With a deal of pleasure.

"Hope, I dae, That tae Elysium, I go, Little chance, there seems, a encounterin' ye there!"So saying Luridan jerks out of the saloon and down one of the corridors leading away from the center of the hall, returning with what seems to be a chemical laboratory mounted on a rolling base, which he sets up in the corner of the hall farthest from the saloon. Turning back to the saloon he yelled "Robbing me, just frae, no free stuff, frae me, ye will get, ever!" Edited August 28, 2013 by Lord Duvors
