I am new to making decals and was wonder what program people find is the best for making decals? What is the easiest to use for a beginner?

Second, I was wondering if someone had a blank template for a full figure (front/back; head, torso, arms, legs, hands)?

Thank you so much for any help.

You can find tutorials for designing decals with MS Paint (Windows default), Inkscape (free) and Adobe Illustrator (if you have it) in the MCW Index thread.

As for a complete template, you can try this one I made a long time ago, but for some reason never came to add to the Templates Index.

Thanks you. I appreciate your help. Which do you think would be best for a beginner?

If you have some time to get practice, I'd suggest Inkscape: it's a vectorial program, so you'll be able to manipulate design elements more flexibly way, and the results are pretty good.

MS Paint is perhaps a bit easier to use right from the beginning, but less flexible and 'interesting' in a way, and the results are not always as good.

As far as I know (since I do not have it), Illustrator is even better than Inkscape in terms of design options and elements manipulation, but it's somewhat more tricky and, since it's not free, I'd suggest you to make practice with other programs before eventually buying it (unless you already own it, of course).

I use GIMP for manipulating the images and corel draw for vectorizing them - but corel draw is a bit expensive ^^
