Sir James and Robert found a hidden smugglers den near a stream. Soldiers heard about it but have been able to find it.

Cool! We have our first hideout! I like the (lime?) green roof pattern, that is very nice. For the building itself, you may want to try outlining the portals (doors and windows) with another color brick to define them better. Unfortunately, Lego made those wood pieces go the wrong way, although they are good for stockade looking pieces, they unfortunately make weird look cabins. But I use them for that also. I don't think there is much we can do about it. However, as I said, offsetting them with more solid secondary colors might help make the building look more pronounced.

I like the water, although it looks like a very slow moving creek to me. If it is supposed to be quick moving, a little clear bubbling will help bring in that illusion.

Good work!

Thanks for the comments on the water. Was a new effect I was trying and I like how it came out. As for the building I was limited to 1x2 palisades in brown or any color really. I really need more bricks of various colors but it has been slow buying through bricklink and my local pab just hasnt had the pieces I am looking for building wise. Every piece (top, not including the base build and base because I had to bricklink those pieces) in this has come from PAB in the last 2 weeks so I am pretty happy with what I have been able to find.

As for the roof I got those olive green cheese plates so I would go more for a thatched roof kind of look. I hate how it is standing on there but lack the bricks to make it sturdier as they fall off easily at the moment.

I love the way the water looks! The foliage layout is also pretty good as well. Wouldn't mind seeing what the inside of the building looks like.

Keep up the good work :classic:

I like how you can see the riverbed and the roof of the houses looks pretty neat

Nice build, I especially like that creek and its shores.

I would however advice you to rotate the build before taking the pictures and use that nice white background for what it is for

Sadly I did nothing inside the building as I don't have the pieces I want for much. I hope to build a bed and some other stuff next time I do a building moc. I really want to build hinge buildings in the future. I have hinges in dark bluish grey and light bluish grey but not in a wood or sand color.

Nice build, I especially like that creek and its shores.

I will try to do some more pictures when I can get my other lights working. I do agree I can take better pictures.

I like the roof!! It looks amazing!! The details are great! I love it!

It are kinda strange trees :classic: But except for that, awesome job with the base!! :classic:

You did the water effect very well and I like the tall trees.

I like the trees too, they are good for the parts you had to work with. Other than the weird double trunk effect those pieces give (but that isn't something you really can help) I feel like its Endor. haha.

Thanks! My local PAB had the 4x2 browns and the cheese slops in olive green and Iove how the roof came out as well.

Thanks. Yea I would have prefered the round 2x2 browns or the 1x1 brown rounds but I didn't have the pieces for either.

Thanks. I had to make the trees different heights to keep them from hitting each other.

A nice little moc for sure! >The water looks great!

I do feel that you have to do a lot of working with your photos. Poor lightning, flash that makes unnatural lights, a background that is not even used(?!) Try to get outside in the shadow. Take the photos there and have a larger background or edit your pics. Don´t feel like I´m picking on you. I only feel that your mocs deserves better presentation that this.

No I appreacate the ideas of how to improve the photographs. I will take more when I get a chance just been busy with the family with labor day and all. I got time to work on this while the wife and kids were out.
