clarkdef Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Say hello to my little friend! Montana. Montana is my 2013 hillclimb car set to destroy the course come Christmas. Montana features a bumper which can skid over things or take direct impacts no worries. He is a very simple littler car weighing in at 700g. The super short wheel base allows him to tackle the very sharp corners! Weight is kept as low as possible by use of two lipo batteries, which weigh 20g each. With his beady little eyes on the prize Montana is set to dominate any other Lego RC car out there! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Nice! I can't wait to see it in action. That is super light weight! Great job. Could you post a underside shot? Quote

Hopey Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Do the back wheels fall off? They don't look very well secured... Quote
Rishab N Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I cant wait to see a video of this! It looks very fast Quote
clarkdef Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 cool steering! Thanks for that. Ha! it's as simple as it gets, though twas the only type that was accurate and reliable. Do the back wheels fall off? They don't look very well secured... I'd say they could do with some extra bushes on the inside for good measure, but no they never fell off my other test vehicles before this one. I cant wait to see a video of this! It looks very fast I need a single cell charger or a charger that does it all! (expensive) I used up all the juice they had out of the box, so cannot show you right now Quote

clarkdef Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 Update: I took Montana out for a training session today, just to see how he handles going up a hill. It went..... ok it was very wet and Montana was struggling with traction and the road was covered in little nuts when if hit would send Montana off the road! I managed to get a video in of a half run, it looks very bad but the few after that without the camera on him were better. He had some epic crashes this day and stood up to it like a boss , room for improvement though, like the steering, I need it to return exactly to center, it currently returns to almost center because of compliance in the plastic. I to will have to work on my ability to control while running after, as he is fast even with small wheels and a low gear ratio. Those nuts are annoying, he doesn't have suspension... Quote
skriblez Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Crazy driving! Looks like a quick little car :) Quote
