JM1971 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Found some cheap parts for my pyramid construction, on the left machine screws and bolts from amazon.co.uk, on the right hinges from screwfix.com. Proberbly going to cover them with stick on floor tiles, 5 tiles for £1 and that will cover 10 sides :D Quote

Proberbly going to cover them with stick on floor tiles, 5 tiles for £1 and that will cover 10 sides :D Very cool! Thanks for that. What are you building your pyramids out of? MDF? I'm doing some experiments atm, with cardboard ones. they seem pretty strong. Trying to find the best size, so that the undercarriage of 41999 doesn't get hooked. 6.5cm seems to be as high as it can be for the center of 41999, but across the axles it needs to be much lower. And a bunch of 15L in red and black :P Yes that too! Good luck, and let us know how you go. Quote
JM1971 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 What are you building your pyramids out of? MDF? 3mm hardboard, same stuff used to underlay wooden floors, cheap and strong :D Quote

Doc_Brown Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Ahh thanks! The Reaper VS Boss would be good! The reaper is way faster but has to do multiple turns, maybe a good race! Will test tmr. Quote
JM1971 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) I looked into controlling cars from the net, seems latency will be a problem, I tried recording IR signals with a camera which worked but nothing happened when playing them back, I dont think TV's broadcast IR even though IR is visible to humans when playing back video. Looking very good btw. Edited September 30, 2013 by JM1971 Quote

Lakop Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I like your contructions so far. Hope they take the weight of the crawlers. H Quote
JM1971 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I like your contructions so far. Hope they take the weight of the crawlers. H No worries there, suspension bridge looks like it can handle around 20+kg, ramp 50+kg, rough estimate. Quote
aol000xw Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 That yellow and black tape is high friction right? Really really nice. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Here is a big update. Ozben and myself have completed 99% of the course and had some fun testing it.
