Well, I spotted some Trevi boxes in a store in Oslo last Tuesday and thought "wow, is that one out already?" Apparently, it isn't - so I went back tonight, as I'm passing through again, to make sure it wasn't just a mirage - and as it wasn't, I picked up a couple. Looks like a nice set, and it's got some weight to it, too. Looking forward to building it - maybe this weekend at the annual Norwegian LUG meeting :)

very good to hear that, maybe it will get worldwide release on May 1 then, I haven't heard much about the monthly release items

A silly conversation I had the other day....

Let's call him Carl, someone who knows me and my Lego addiction:

Carl: - "Hey SheepEater,, did you know about these architecture Lego sets?"

Me: - Yeah. But these sets are more geared towards adults.

Carl ....

Me....

... Did I just say that? Oh I meant I collect lego sets with minifigs in them. Usually geared towards kids.

Carl: *bursts out laughing*

I knew the early May release today was the mixer, but had so hoped they would have included Trevi in there as well...oh well, 16 more days

Yep, 16 more days. Nothing new yesterday in the arch section at the lego store. June has the makings of a good month. Nobody on duty at the lego store was very talkative as far as future release are concerned. Basically got a 'no comment' when asking about the mini Cooper.

Of course, what's a visit to the lego store with out me asking a question like 'when is the Grand Canyon set going to be released?'

wow...ok, so in keeping with rufie's desire...let's be robotic from now on, oops robots go on another theme...in any case, anyone know what might be next after the Trevi Fountain, I know for a while there, TLG was producing more than one architecture set per year. I am not sure we can count Marina Bay cause lots of folks got it in late 2013, even though some sites say it is 2014. It seems TLG has just let this line die a bit.

One question for some admins though, why are you so tough on posts for Architecture and I see a ton of back and forth in TLM posts, and others? Do you not have anything better to do other than to troll all the threads and come down on posters? It seems a bit childish really. Can we just have CopMike do the admin on the special Lego Themes...he is pretty cool.

Architecture is one of the most common subjects built in Lego, so this topic would quickly become overrun if everyone posted whatever neat MOCs they found in the theme discussion topic (especially minifig-scale MOCs like this that are hardly like the sets in the Architecture theme at all). I can see why the mods would want to keep the topic focused on the theme this topic pertains to. And as a regular in the Lego Movie sets topic, I think the mods do the same thing there, such as redirecting discussion of the movie itself to the Culture and Multimedia subforum. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the explanation Lyichir. This is how we moderate threads and we, indeed, try to moderate consistently across the board. Concretely, people look at this thread to see news or discussion about the Architecture range. We're simply trying to keep the forum organised by stepping in when discussion threads veer off-topic, not because we enjoy "coming down on posters". If you think something warrants moderator intervention elsewhere, please use the Report button on the respective post.

For anyone who wants to discuss just pure architecture and meet good folks around the world there is a facebook Lego Architecture page as well that does tend to veer off subject.

As for me, I am really wondering why TLG is not paying the Arch line much notice this year, one set only, mid year and no rumours about anything else at all...very sad to see this line slow down so much.

Yes, Herky, the apparent lack of attention to the arch series is disappointing. I can dream of a 3000 or 4000 piece Frank Lloyd Wright building. But, I guess I'm in the minority and the market is just too small for another Robie House type of set. Sigh!

Yes, we have a universal policy across the whole of EB that discussions should stay on topic. It's not a new thing, and it's not exclusive to Architecture, and members already report off topic posts because they like to read about the subject they expect to read about. When topics veer off course, all that is required, usually, is a polite reminder from a Moderator, which is exactly what Rufus posted. It just happens that Rick expanded the answer first in this case, just as I am now, although you should be well aware of this policy having yourself been a member of this site for over 18 months.

If you have any doubts, please refer to the Member Guidelines, a link to which is in my, Rufus's, and Rick's signatures, not to mention that of every other Moderator on this site.

Pandora's bad math skills aside (9 months not 18) I have heard the Architecture Studio is being sold in stores again, no idea if it is selling well. The manager at my local store also is in the dark for what might be next, at the regional gathering, Trevi was the only thing discussed. Another site mentioned getting back to the Wright buildings and suggest Taliesin but I think that is too sprawling to do, if they go back to FLW, better to do his home in Oak Park.

Another suggestion was a European building, but while there were a ton of good buildings thrown out, no one really had a guess...I had heard at one time, TLG was considering doing the Pyramids of Gaza, certainly lend themselves to a lego build. We will just have to see I guess...thread will likely go dormant for a while til something is published by TLG.

The architecture studio has been back in the local lego store for some time now. They seem to push it every time I'm in the place. FLW Oak Park would be great. Of course, anything in the arch series that would take longer than two hours to build would be great. With one exception that I won't mention but that did get a lot of votes when the Lego arch website did a survey. Hint.....but I am a big fan of FC Barcelona.
