Hey guys,

I'm Nathan, 22 years old and from Scotland. I haven't played LEGO in a long time (Probably since I was like 16 or something), but the other day I was bored and checked out the LEGO.com site and saw Cafe Corner. It was calling out to me, honest! I think I'm gonna start really getting back into the hobby. :)

I'm mainly a city/trains person. I liked the Islanders sets a good, I dunno, 10 years ago? Also the Western theme. But since seeing Cafe Corner I want to take a more realistic view to my town building. I want Cafe Corner to be just a corner in a little town, where all the other buildings are built by myself and look really realistic. Wish me luck, it'll be my first time...

Just bought my first set in a long time from Argos (7945 Fire Station) to see if I like it, and now I've just put a massive dent in my wallet on Shop@Home. :D

LEGO has definently changed a bit! I love the size of the fire engine, and some of the building methods are very different to what I imagine LEGO doing back in the day. I like!

Anyway, I've bored you enough... :)

Cheers,

Mr Hobbles / Nathan

Welcome to EB Mr. Hobbles!

Good to see another T&T fan join. You're right, LEGO has changed a lot over the past few years. And I know very well about the dent in the wallet :'-( ;-)

Hope you enjoy EB like we all do :-)

Now I have to watch out I don't confuse your name with my own *wacko*

Welcome Nathan, good to see someone who is just as old as I am.

I am sure you will enjoy your time here, with lots of inspiring builders all over the forum.

Do you have some pictures of your collection, Brickshelf or something?

:-)

Im afraid not, I didn't even know there was this big of an online LEGO community. I've just really started getting obsessed with it again these last few days. All my old LEGO is back home which is at least a 4 hour drive away...might have to go home and fetch them.

Also found out about Bricklink...it's brilliant! Should supply all the parts I need for my next building project. :-P

Welcome! I'm torn, Mr Hobbles is free to like town and trains, but it really does disgrace the name Nathan ;-) X-D X-D ... Greetings from across the water anyway!

God Bless,

Nathan

Welcome Mr. Hobbles. I am a town and train fan too. I have been collecting town sets for 21 years and 9V train sets since they came out. You will definitly find this hobby will be costly, but it is worth it. You are entering back into the collection at a good time. Lego is finally creating good town sets again. In the late '90s, Lego created some town sets that were very cheap looking. The vehicles had no doors and bricks with printed headlights. I personally thought these were :-( . I am glad to see the company is back to their roots. The vehicles look great and the buildings are starting to look like buildings again *y* . Lego has been doing a good job with the trains though. The only train set I thought looked :-( was the train station in 1999. This station was small and cheap looking. But you will find things are getting :'-) . Good luck on your future projects and a quick reminder. You can always use the SW and Castle sets as parts. I do.

Thanks guys, this place is really welcoming! I really do wanna drive home now and fetch all my LEGO and start building right away. Browsing the forums is giving me loads of ideas!

Mr Tiber: You would think so, but I've been told I have a habit of making random thread titles... :-$ this is just a prime example of that I guess. :-D

I visit LEGO.com quite regularly, just glancing at it when I'm bored, especially over the last few months. But I visited it almost a week ago and saw Cafe Corner and it really made me get into LEGO again. Then I searched for communities and forums, and this seemed like the best. :-)

It IS Tiber... Mr Tiber...

Sometimes members think it's timber because of "Shiver me timbers!". But it's not.

Why did you think it's Tibber?

I'd say because of this:
