Derfel Cadarn Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Just checking, are Alt-bricks leaves available? Not that I use them but I do have some official Lego ones that I custom painted. Would these be ok to use? No biggie either way, just wondering. Ooh, and when are we gonna be sorted into sides...and when does things officially start so we can post entries? Now that i'm a random GOH member again, I get to bug the mods with annoying questions! Lol Quote

ZCerberus Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Sides will be posted on or around Nov 1. Painted/altered are a no. 3rd party accessories are okay so long as not from a clone brand. That was the Book I rule as well. Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Great to see so many ready to build in the darklands! Quote
Bkrosell Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) For catagory C, can you depict your fig attempting to recruit a tribe but failing? Edited October 27, 2013 by Bkrosell Quote
MKJoshA Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 For catagory C, can you depict your fig attempting to recruit a tribe but failing? Ooooo. Sounds like a really good idea. I hope it get's approved and I hope to see some fantastic results! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 For the two categories with size limits, would a border be considered a reasonable overhang? Or should the border be within the size limit? Quote
Legonardo Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 For catagory C, can you depict your fig attempting to recruit a tribe but failing? Mitgardians are too weak to get tribes? Its second nature for nocturnians... Quote
HammerBro Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Tagging along with soccerkid6, I laid out a build which has a 4 stud overhang on a 32x32 baseplate today. I might want to enter this in the challenge and was wondering if the overhang qualifies as "reasonable." Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 A border is considered reasonable overhang. 4 studs over the baseplate should be fine so long as it isn't something like 4 studs over on all sides. The Obsidian Spike for example would qualify as reasonable overhang if the limit was 48 x 48. It has a border and the tendrils over hang the baseplate. Again it would be too big for the "build challenge" here since that limit is 32 x 32, but it would meet qualifications if 48 x 48 was the limit. Quote

Dagashy Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Are the size limits maximum or do builds have to be of that size I was thinking for category A I would be able to go smaller since my bricks aren't really sorted and I have a few Just checking before I do anything too crazy Quote

You can build smaller than 16x16 or 32x32 if you wish. Quote
Erynlasgalen Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Decals will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. I'm assuming yes, but thought I would ask anyway- Does modifying include print wiping of official parts? Quote
Infernum Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 So I have 16x16 or 32x32 building space, but the border can go around that? Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 I'm assuming yes, but thought I would ask anyway- Does modifying include print wiping of official parts? Modifying would include print wiping. Sort of odd that you could put on a decal but not take one off, but I think you could see why that is. So I have 16x16 or 32x32 building space, but the border can go around that? Yes. So long as the base plate or irregular base does not exceed 256 or 1,024 stud area respectively. This build, for example, is on a 32 x 32 baseplate with a border that sits outside of that all the way around. Quote
Jareth Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I am siding with Lord Ssilyrrlith. Thanks for the long entry time, I'll need it. Quote
Kerntechniker Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I am looking forward to see who is in which Team and of course to see all the upcoming Mocs. Quote
Christoph Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Sign me up, please! Whichever side I'm on... at least I will be fighting against the dark side. Quote
Kerntechniker Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Do you mean in this challenge both Teams are the dark side?^^ Quote
ZCerberus Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Sides are up. Check out the second post and get building! I know Classic-Castle's CCC is up as well, so try to balance your time if you are doing both to make sure you get some sweet CH1 stuff built too! Quote
