naf Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I'm a bit surprised that they'd include Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie in the series 13 lineup. If they're releasing a Simpson's house set, those figures will probably be included there. The CMF series could include all the other characters like Millhouse, Crusty, etc. I personally don't like having the Simpson's lineup take over an entire CMF series. I've collected all the CMF series so far, but I'm not that interested in the Simpsons. So, I can collect these figures I don't really want for the sake of completeness, or have a big gap in my collection where series 13 should be. Quote

The value of CMF (for both original or licensed themes) should be exclusiveness, and putting repetitive characters makes licensed CMF plans much less convincing. It's like peoeple don't want Johhny Thunder and Emmet in Lego Movie CMF. We've had enough with protagonists that appears in every licensed set, not even to think about CMF. Hrw-Amen Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I would be happy to have them as a separate set like the Olympic ones, but I do not want them to be a normal release. That cannot make sense and goes against everything that the Custom Mini-figs are about, it is that they are 'CUSTOM' that is the whole point of them. Replacing a whole release with named characters is just wrong. I cannot imagine LEGO would make such a big mistake as that. A Separate line as stand along figures. Great Idea. Release 13 of CMF Series. A big failure. Quote

Some would say that putting exclusive figures into each set is a trick LEGO uses to make you buy all the sets. What if I only want to collect the minifigures and don't care about the sets? I would love to get the main LEGO MOVIE characters without having to buy the Wyld Style Chase set. I'm sure some would prefer not being compelled to buy the Simpson house. Ideally: People wanting only the minifigures can just buy the CMF series. People wanting both the sets and the minifigures but don't want duplicates just need to avoid buying the CMF bags containing characters in the sets. People wanting to collect everything will just buy it all. Quote
JeagerEX Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 OMG! Series 13 will be licensed theme. I would not getting those to save money, but I will continue at Series12 then I stopped to save for Disneyland ticket. Quote

Out of curiosity have we gotten a confirmation that this will be a series 13, not an extra set? I saw the initial link, I was just curious if it had been seen elsewhere. Unless there are some great accessories I'll be skipping this either way. Quote

At the moment, the only thing confirmed is that there will be LEGO The Simpsons sets (confirmed by Mads Nipper and LEGO represnative WhiteAligator) and that there will be a LEGO The Simpsons themed special (confirmed by David Silverman, who works on the show). Jargo Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I would lay money on the CMF minifigs differing from any included with the house. Different expressions and torso/leg prints, different accessories etc. Quote

Suppose this rumor is true, it's dangerous for the first licensed CMF to be repetitive minifigure collections since it doesn't have a complete effect of promotion. Plus, more than quarter repetitive ones are way too many. I personally support exclusive figures since the consumers and TLC can still share a double win. I agree that not all people love sets, but still not all Lego characters are doing with CMF or we'll see more of the same thing. A Separate line as stand along figures. Great Idea. Release 13 of CMF Series. A big failure. There is another way. We have 3 series every year so far. Suppose TLC simply add 2 licensed series and we get 5 series in total, it doesn't really harm. However it can only be confimed by the whole 2014 schedule Edited September 30, 2013 by Dorayaki Quote

I also think LEGO is afraid they're putting out too man series in one year with three, especially if they're not selling as well as they once were. There seems to be too many blind bag toys in the market nowadays. Who knows for sure. I guess only time will tell. Quote

Maybe making 2 series every year can improve the quality of design. It's the range I can accept. Just hope that it's not ending up with a cancellation. However, there are some I dislike as a fan of the themes (eg, Mario from K'Nex), who didn't really show the exclusiveness of blind bags. Edited September 30, 2013 by Dorayaki Quote
kermit Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 To prevent obtaining lots of the same characters I assume that those in the minifigure series will have differences and variations from those included in the system sets. Quote

EarthNinja5000 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I am looking forward to series 13 :) Can't wait to get some Simpsons minifig's! Quote
just2good Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Color of this series will be metallic light blue. Interesting! Thanks for the info! I thought they'd reset the colors and use white or yellow. But, the blue color will probably look good. Quote

Itaria No Shintaku Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Did it show which characters there were? No, I would have reported if it did. By the way it spoke about a great surprise, so alas I suppose the Simpsons will be confirmed... Actually I believe also a SINGLE set will be released too. Quote
just2good Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Actually I believe also a SINGLE set will be released too. Oh yes, it's probably the House set. Thank you very much for the information! Quote
fred67 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I would lay money on the CMF minifigs differing from any included with the house. Different expressions and torso/leg prints, different accessories etc. That would be my guess, too. I'm a huge fan of the Simpsons, ever since the Tracey Ullman show, and she has my gratitude for giving Groening a chance with the Simpsons, and the talented cast of the show who lent their voices. Anyhow, I'm winding down my LEGO buying; this week was the first time I bought LEGO in 4 months, but I was a bit unhappy skipping Series 11, so I just bought a box. I figure if I'm going to keep up with anything, it'll be the CMFs. Now that TLG is using series 12 as propaganda (yeah, yeah, whatever), I can finally give that up, too... and stick to a very limited selection; but now with Simpsons, I will have to buy that series, too - and I will probably get more than one box, if possible, depending on distribution of the figures in it. After that series, though, I think I'll be able to hang it up on CMFs. But to Jargo's point - being a fan, and having played multiple of their video games, too, there's no end to what "costumes" they can have.... maybe it's just the season, but a Treehouse of Horror series would be absolutely incredible. JeagerEX Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I hope these are rumors according to LEGO Message Boards, but anyways we need to bring back CMF Series in regular theme, not licensed. Quote
Sam892 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Looking at the list of confirmed/ rumoured figs in guessing that Itchy and Scratchy will be the rarest figures. In terms of accessories I can see them both having either the lumberjack's (series 5) axe, and a cave man club. The most common figures I can see being Lisa, Marge, Homer and Bart. Everyone like Moe and Apu I can see being semi rare. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I hope these are rumors according to LEGO Message Boards, but anyways we need to bring back CMF Series in regular theme, not licensed. I really hoped till the very last time, but I have clues that it will be the Simpsons A) The color for the bags is some sort of blue like the sky in the Simspons intro. I know this is kinda facticious, but you never know. B) This also may be very facticious, but, the color they put for the background of the "Licensed One-Set-Only theme" (The Simpsons House?) is very similar to the one of the CMF series 13. C) Some pictures of a "Ned Flanders Lego Heas" surfaced. I doubt he will be inserted in the Simpsons House (though NOT impossible). D) They usually release minifigures accessories to last across more than one series, so there is no surprise a character in Series 11 had a saxophone. Agreed that I am NOT happy about this choice, I will make use for anything but the heads in this serie, unless they raise the price. IF they raise the price, which I consider to be a standard choice, I will buy just the 16 needed to complete the collection, no spare ones. Quote
