According to Huw, the cocoons will be made from three of the part seen on Tunneler Beast's back, and connected with a "Technic Y connector". But we still have to know which one is it.

I figured Tunneler Beast's pieces were made by cocoon pieces, the problem is that I wasn't completely sure if the Queen set actually included those cocoons, till now. It's a cool idea, though I'm still not fond of TB very much, the red in particular rubs me in the wrong way.

The cocoon sections looking like leaves makes sense I guess, since it seems the Beasts are born from flowers. Reptile-insect-plant hybrids..how quaint.

And of course Huw had to diss HF again, though I guess he behaved better than usual. And HF wasn't the only theme he made fun of.

It is not working for me.

Actually that's part of the Summer wave we already knew about, still thanks for the link!

Seems like she has tr neon green cladding. Neat.

...

Boxes?

Well that caught me offhand. Didn't expect to see boxes again.

Its normal for the largest set of the summer wave to have one. remember jet Rocka?

Last year, Jet Rocka was the only boxed set, which is why this is surprising to see two boxed set next wave. Maybe this has something to do with the cocoons ?

Also, these pictures confirm the orange/blue Jumper.

Did I see a yellow jumper? Anyway, interesting find. I didn't think Surge's machine would be boxed either. Nice to see the whole Queen Beast set though.

I'll just sit here and wait for people to slowly revise their opinion on Queen Beast, flip-flop once hi-res pics come out, then change again once the set is actually released...

No but seriously boxes. Sweet. I love the bags for their compactability, but there's something very satisfying about getting a set that comes in a box. Maybe it's just the sound.

Anyhow, the summer wave is shaping up to be pretty appealing in the large set department. Plus, Toyfair soonish.

I GUARANTEE you that TTV will make a video on these pics. Then again, they probably already have. I have high expectations for the new sets, and hopefully some people will post photos of them since I'm not going to ToyFar.

Thanks for these pictures! I hope the Bright Blue ball cups are maintained in the final set. We need more Bright Blue beams and ball cups in my opinion. We already have Bright Red and Bright Yellowish Green ones which I love using for either color blocking or an extra splash of color in the skeletons of MOCs. And yeah, the cocoons are cool. Still, Dorek has a good point — these pics are neither clear enough nor final enough to form really informed opinions.

Since I like the Queen Beast, does that mean I'm going to hate her when the hi-res pics come out

Seriously, the Queen Beast looks nice, she'll be joining Splitter, Jaw, Flyer, and Crystal on my shelf... when they're all released that is.

Oh yeah, two steps ahead of you. The guy actually alerted us to the existence of the pictures before anybody else and requested a video sourcing him. We're more than happy to oblige. XD

My opinions are the same so far. Queen Beast looks cool, Combat Machine looks like a jumbled mess (but maybe that's just because of the confidential stamp obscuring 99% of the set).

Second pic isn't working for me :/

But anywho, the Queen looks pretty nice. And hey, it comes in a box, so that's cool.

EDIT: Found the pic of Surge's Machine. Looks good too, but I can't make out much. Red cocoon is nice to see, though. Wonder if the regular bagged sets will come with them as well.

Huh? So the blue top jumpers are getting a release. Cool.

Seems they also got JJ Abrams to put a lens flare on the box to obscure it even further.

Or maybe it was JJ who took the picture?

A box? Cool. Great to see the whole set!

a box? i get it if it's queen beast set. but combat machine, which has fewer pices than evo xl machine? why?

Actually, Evo XL Machine has 193 pieces, and the box for the Combat Machine says 194 pieces, so it has 1 more than Evo XL.

Actually, Evo XL Machine has 193 pieces, and the box for the Combat Machine says 194 pieces, so it has 1 more than Evo XL.

but the london toy fair report states that it has 188 pieces? well, even if it's 194, how big is that 1 piece to actually make it use a box?

How much does the Surge Combat Machine cost? Is it priced the same as Evo XL Machine? Would be odd if they share the same price yet one is in a box while the other is bagged.

Yes it is the same price as the XL machine.

I looked up it on Brickset and it shows that the set will cost $24.99 with 188 pieces. I have no idea if it's going to be in a bag or not but i think it will be in bags.

So, according to the list we got, Combat Machine has 188 pieces, while the count is 194 according to the box. Well since it's preliminary I'd trust the list more. Still, it's got we're getting it in a box while Evo XL M. came in a bag.

Wait, are you talking about Queen Beast? I'm pretty sure that is azure, like the other Beasts. Unless you're talking about Combat Machine.
