October 6, 201410 yr That's the main issue I have. Hero Factory's cancellation just drives home the fact that Stringer and Nex dropped off the face of the earth... Er, story I guess. Seriously. Where did they go?
October 7, 201410 yr Hrm, that is a bit of a problem. Its a shame they didn't decide to be nice and chuck them in the Queen Beast set instead of yet another Evo and Furno and Stormer. Might not have made 1005 sense. But it would have been appreciated.
October 11, 201410 yr Was messing around with the minifigures today, took a few interesting shots Since I have so many heroes I swapped the eye colors around to make things more visually interesting. Also as I said in my reviews earlier in the year, I really loved the look of a red jumper with blue shell so I made such an amend.
October 25, 201410 yr Want a villain for your minifigs to fight? Give your spare Bulk some silver armour on his torso and red eyes. You've instantly got a G1 Megatron figure. Something like this? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/mc/hf_minifig_megatron_1.png http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/mc/hf_minifig_megatron_2.png

November 2, 201410 yr That happens often enough. It's mostly based on stock. Wave 2 seems to be more popular than wave 1, probably because of the more interesting primary colors.
November 2, 201410 yr I was crossing my fingers that I would be able to find some half-off once Bionicle came. It's a shame, and I think that Lego sets that retire less then 6 months after release are a rarity.
November 2, 201410 yr (or it could mean they sold a lot of their stock because the wave was really popular, but nobody ever expects that from lil' ol' Hero Factory)
November 3, 201410 yr But if the wave was popular, surely they would restock, rather than retire the sets.
November 3, 201410 yr But if the wave was popular, surely they would restock, rather than retire the sets. Restock with what? Who says they haven't been? The manufacturing side of this probably saw the HF sets retired quicker than normal in order to put the new BIONICLE sets into production. It wouldn't surprise me if normally there's a bit of a faded crossover from one wave to another when it comes to lines where the near-entirety of them are done in one single LEGO factory (as opposed to all over, constraciton parts are almost exclusively done in one single factory for the entire world), but with the new switch back to BIONICLE, I bet the last HF wave had a smaller production run to ramp up production for BIONICLE.

It could always be both—maybe Lego planned fewer production runs in preparation for Bionicle's launch AND the HF sets which were produced sold faster than projected.
November 10, 201410 yr It could always be both—maybe Lego planned fewer production runs in preparation for Bionicle's launch AND the HF sets which were produced sold faster than projected. With that quote from the LMB and this possibility, do you guys think that maybe LEGO could be considering to continue running HF sets? Could be similar to the case of Slizers and '01-'03 BIONICLE where they just didnt plan for success. HF could focus more on the minifigs with Mechs sort of thing (like Exoforce). The minifigures with mechs fighting giant monsters could definitely have a niche in toys. This also provides LEGO an excellent opportunity to show CCBS as a LEGO product to fight the "this isnt real LEGOs" mindset. I like what they are doing with Chima and Ninjago, but those waves doing the Exoforce thing is a one-time thing for sure and Hero Factory could probably keep it for a few more waves at least. More diverse and interesting designs of vehicles and monsters could also provide more showing of CCBS' versatility. Edited November 10, 201410 yr by InfurnallDragon
November 10, 201410 yr Everything I've been told from LEGO employees in Denmark is that Hero Factory is done, at least for now.
November 28, 201410 yr Before this topic completely dies (well, it already has, but..), I must not forget to show this gem to everyone.
December 4, 201410 yr Now I know what to get for Christmas... More seriously, I bought Tunneler Beast earlier this week, and tonight, I decided to build an alternate model out of it. I can't take pictures right now, so you'll have a render instead : No, I'm not calling it Headless Beast. The only leftover parts are the Technic bits from its back.
December 5, 201410 yr That's great Leewan! Saw it this morning - those feet look nice, but I doubt they're very strong. Alright for a small model like this, however!
