Corydoras Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 A bit off-topic, and no offense Corydora, but what you just posted reinforces my thought that a lot of people seem to think about Neon Genesis first when it comes to giant robots. And the Eva units aren't even robots. So why compare them? What? Did I say Evas are robots? As far as I remember (watched only a small part of the series years ago), they are some kind of biomechanoid creations. The villains in the new HF also look more organic - the hero mechas are bulkier and are clearly machines, but these things look more biomechanoid. That's why they remind me of Evangelion. Hmm... so I have but one question which I'd be very grateful if you could answer. What are the villains' colors? One of them is red and black, as you say, but what of the other two? And is the shade of red on the Balrog-esque villain normal or dark red? Thanks very much. All of them are very dark - mostly black, I guess. The Balrogesque one has head and claws in regular red. The Flyer Beast has yellow head and shoulders, possibly some trans yellow as well. The third one has purple head and small bits of teal/turqoise in his limbs (?). Hey, here's a novel idea: Could you actually show us these alleged pictures? Maybe then, more people would actually believe you! Just a handy hint I don't care if you believe me or not. I saw the pics in a retailers' catalogue and even if I could post the images, I wouldn't. Posting pics labeled as confidential is forbidden, you know. Quote
CabooseBM Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) So the Hero mechs have no heads? Kinda disappointing, but that seems to be the only problem. Everything else just sounds fantastic. Nonhumanoid mechs are the best, man. =P Edited October 9, 2013 by CabooseBM Quote
Gatanui Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Remember how people were afraid LEGO would run out of ideas with the CCBS? ^^ -Gata Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 The third one has purple head and small bits of teal/turqoise in his limbs More teal limbs? ohyes. Hopefully we'll get pics soon, hopefully next week or something. Quote
Kalhiki Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 The third one has purple head and small bits of teal/turqoise in his limbs (?). Okay. I'm sold. This is what I've been wanting. I'm really excited now, but I hope the Heroes aren't straight-up minifigures. I like minifigs, but when I think of constraction, I think of poseability outside the range of minifigures. However, if this is Lego Pacific Rim, I'm completely sold no matter what. Man, I can't wait for the TV episode. It's gonna be epic. Quote
Corydoras Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Hopefully we'll get pics soon, hopefully next week or something. I hope so. I'd like to see the pics, too - larger and better quality, without the "confidential" stamp. Quote
ToaJaller78 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) I hope so. I'd like to see the pics, too - larger and better quality, without the "confidential" stamp. You could LINK the images. You don't have to post them here y'now..............................................Right? Edited October 9, 2013 by ToaJaller78 Quote
Shakar Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Guys, be patient. I want to see the sets as much as you do, but Corydoras has his valid reasons to not post them. All these descriptions we're getting are much better than last year's situation. Pics, big ones, are soon coming. We waited for 20 days, we can wait a little more, right? Quote
Infernum Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Really guys? I wouldn't show them either if I was in Corydoras' spot. They're labeled confidential for a reason. Also, that one set with teal and purple sounds great! Quote
VBBN Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I Did not see that coming. On one hand, this is a neat concept. Some people may know that my favorite system them was Exo-Force, so having mechs returning is a welcomed idea. At the same time, I hope its a one-time thing, otherwise all we will get from now on is tiny heroes. Really there isn't much more you can do (Unless you give the villains mechs?) And I still feel like the designs are going to be lackluster. We were wondering how they could fit two smaller sets into that price tag- But even if it's a minifig in a mech, it's still gotta be proper size, or it means the mech and the villain will be poor in part substantiation. Quote
Shakar Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 From what I got from his words, Villain sets are a full size villain+Hero minifig. I guess minifigs have a weapon to fight with but that's it. And purple and teal (azure)? I hope that's Splitter Beast. Either way, this is getting better and better. Quote
Infernum Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 So the "Vs." sets have a full sized villain and a Hero fig? That definitely makes more sense than two small sets in one. The mechs will likely come with the hero too, so if you buy all the sets you'll end up with two of each hero? Quote
Dorek Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I think the gist is one "full" size villain (scale we have now) vs a comparable mech with a hero "minifig" inside it. Quote
Brickthing Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 New HF monster/villain feet perhaps? This set already proves that they work well with System, but their design style would suit for pure constraction as well. The whole dragon in general seems to be integrating the constraction system to a small degree, so it makes sense if Hero Factory starts to integrate System more as well. Quote

ToaJaller78 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Corydoras, What do the figs look like? I wouldn't be surprised if they're animated the same way they always have been in the TV episodes and commercials, the same way that the Toa Hordika in the CGI portions of the 2005 playset commercials were depicted like the constraction versions, with their minifigure-scale weapons and surroundings sized up accordingly. Overall, I doubt that they'll change the animation style for the characters considerably, since that would mean they couldn't rely on assets created for previous episodes. The civilians, for instance, would end up looking severely incompatible in their level of detail. Seeing that GHOST is animating it, it is VERY likely. Quote
vexorian Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I love how all my google searches for recent pages talking about HF 2014 link to this thread. Quote
Kingriedak Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 so, guys, any guesses as to when official pics might get leaked? Quote
Shakar Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 If that helps, today it's one exact year since we got the first BA pics. I love how all my google searches for recent pages talking about HF 2014 link to this thread. Not sure what you searched for, "Hero Factory Splitter Beast" leads to people talking about Splitface (kinda unsurprising), while I see many people outside EB writing about Furno Jet Machine. I know what you're implying, though, and I don't love it- Corydoras has been answering questions non-stop in many 2014 sets threads. He didn't randomly post a list (any troll can do that), he's going through the effort of answering all the questions he's getting. If he were trolling, what do you think he'd gain from that? Nonhumanoid mechs are the best, man. =P Sure, I wanted new helmets though. Some of my Heroes (Breez, Furno, Stringer and Nex) are desperately needing them. Quote
bacem Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Sure, I wanted new helmets though. Some of my Heroes (Breez, Furno, Stringer and Nex) are desperately needing them. if what corydoras say is true, then the new hero helmet will be minifig sized. Quote
Corydoras Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) And I still feel like the designs are going to be lackluster. I'm not a fan of the theme, but I think they are MUCH better than the recent wave. The villains, at least. From what I got from his words, Villain sets are a full size villain+Hero minifig. I guess minifigs have a weapon to fight with but that's it. And purple and teal (azure)? I hope that's Splitter Beast. Either way, this is getting better and better. Yes and yes. However, the purple head was called "Jaw Beast" and it's the smallest. The teal parts (not sure if I'm 100% right about it, the colors were a little off) are only small bits. Splitter is the demonic Balrog-like one. One more thing to say about the latter - after staring at the image for a couple of minutes, I suddenly realized the red crab-like part with downward pointing "horns" that I believed was the creature's head, might really be his shoulder pad. In this case, his head is a large dark part I mistook for his shoulder/back and his starting to look more like the Rockbiter from "Neverending Story", with a massive rocky jaw (still cool and menacing, though) and one (?) red eye. Or... he has two heads! Then his name, derived from "splitting", would actually make sense... Sorry, it's really hard to make out details from such small pictures... So the "Vs." sets have a full sized villain and a Hero fig? That definitely makes more sense than two small sets in one. The mechs will likely come with the hero too, so if you buy all the sets you'll end up with two of each hero? That's how it is. Maybe the hero figs come in two different variants? Corydoras, What do the figs look like? I've already tell you all I could make out from those blurry pictures. The figs looked okay, not too goofy. Looking forward to see them in hi res. The white one (is his name Stormer?) would make a nice Stormtrooper. Edited October 10, 2013 by Corydoras Quote
Mr. Gundam Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 New HF monster/villain feet perhaps? The whole dragon in general seems to be integrating the constraction system to a small degree, so it makes sense if Hero Factory starts to integrate System more as well. Took a closer look at the feet. Seem they have two pieces lik how the 2004 toa feet were. The paw part has three spaces to snap claws or robot hands too. I'll see these in HF for sure. Corydoras, thanks for the info so far. I have couple of question if you can see it. What do the tools on the hero machines look like?? are they guns or do they have swords and stuff? Can ya tell us what the stealth machine look lik? The hero for that should have a gold color too it? Quote
Corydoras Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 The hero mechas share the same basic style. They have some kind of large translucent backpacks (except for the red one, which has rotors) and two of them have one of their arms turned into a launcher shooting small spheres like the Ninjago dragons and many other HF figures. The white one has something different, however, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a beam or a lightning sword. The red one is shown shoothing red laser beam at a bug minion. One of the smaller hero sets has something like a walking cannon instead of a typical mecha with the yellow hero as a gunner, shotting spheres at a bunch of bug minions. Quote
vexorian Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I know what you're implying, though, and I don't love it- I wasn't implying much, just that this thread has brought tons of attention. Quote
