Dorek Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I did see that but I wasn't quite sure what to do with the information; shop descriptions have been wrong in the past, and this is something very clearly not referenced in the show, but at the same time what exactly they were kidnapping the civilians for is never explained. Quote
Hunter1 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Actually on HeroFactory.com is written that Jumpers attacked Antropolis City, because the Queen send them to get food (read: civilians) for her. And I think, that Jumpers and Beasts are more biological than techno-mechanical organisms. When we accept this theory, it's simple that Jumpers are "children" of Queen Beast. By the way: isn't in the 11-th episode Queen Beast named "mother"? -H.unter Quote
Dorek Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Well, the implication is definitely that she's biological, since the Jumpers are "born" and "evolve", but maybe a queen can only make a queen, as opposed to evolving from another Jumper? As for the feeding thing, the episode itself basically says that it was more retaliation for the construction, but I guess that them being eaten can be incorporated into that. This why I get so disillusioned with HF sometimes; every other source has a different explanation for something, and synthesizing those into a cohesive story is practically impossible. Yeah, I know, what you mean. I'm one of those persons, who are responsible for writing articles about HF, in my country. And I know how hard is sometimes combine all plots in HF story -H.unter Edited July 11, 2014 by Hunter1 Quote
Shakar Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Nice tidbit, too bad its canonicity will end up being ambiguous as usual. I guess some might find this a bit too strong to read, so I'll spoiler tag it just to be safe: That is what Beasts do in my canon as well. Well, the larvae kill the victim from the inside and slowly eat its corpse to evolve and emerge as adults..kinda like jewel wasps. It seems the victim itself is turned into a Beast in Lego's version though. I guess both I and Lego were somewhat inspired by the Aliens we all know and love. Edited July 11, 2014 by Shakar Quote
Agent Fusion Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 A bit grim, but sort of what I was thinking (the jumpers take the civilians into the cocoons and merge with them) Quote
thatblockoguy Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 In the official Hero Factory story line has there ever been any reference to or story of the "first" Hero Factory hero? Quote
Dorek Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 In the official Hero Factory story line has there ever been any reference to or story of the "first" Hero Factory hero? Yes, actually! Thresher, as it stands, is the first known Hero Factory Hero. While it's conceivable that there were some sort of "prototype" Heroes in the past, Thresher was the first known active Hero. He was the initial head of the Alpha 1 Team, and his exploits are detailed in the second Secret Mission book "Legion of Darkness". Quote
thatblockoguy Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Thank you Dorek Now i want a Thresher "minifig" Quote
bacem Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Thank you Dorek Now i want a Thresher "minifig" correct me if i'm wrong, but in appearance, isn't thresher basically just bulk with different color scheme? Quote
Aanchir Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 correct me if i'm wrong, but in appearance, isn't thresher basically just bulk with different color scheme? Well, in the TV episodes he also had Stringer's arm cannon on his opposite arm, but if you were designing a minifigure version of him that wouldn't matter any more than his other weapon. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 In case anyone's interested, the building instructions for all the mechs have also been put up on LEGO's cache: Rocka Crawler Breez Flea Machine Bulk Drill Machine Surge and Rocka Combat Machine Again, some really nice comics for one to peruse here Quote
Agent Fusion Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 The Drill Machine instruction booklet has a maze. That is... BrillIiant! LEGO should do this more often, it costs them nothing and adds a little more to the whole experience. Quote
Aanchir Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I wonder why the sets are so inconsistent about the amount of 1x1 round plates they include as blaster ammo? Bulk Drill Machine randomly has three extra 1x1 round plates in the inventory, Tunneler Beast and Breez Flea Machine each have one extra in the inventory, and the other four sets have no extras in the inventory. Maybe once the set designs were finished the designers just threw in however many extras they could while keeping the set under budget, but that seems a bit counterintuitive because Bulk Drill Machine is the largest set at its price point by piece count even without the extra ammo. On a side note, I wish more of the sets used Tr. Bright Green ammo for the minifigure blasters, just because it's a scarcer color for that piece to begin with. Currently only Surge & Rocka Combat Machine uses 1x1 round plates in that color in the Hero Factory theme, and in other themes it only appears in these sets. Anyway, just corrected any errors I made in these sets when I built them on LDD. I'll upload them to my Brickshelf once the correct helmets are available. Quote
Bigger Fish Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I just realized that Invasion from Below is what happens when LEGO decides to cross Pacific Rim, Exo-Force, and Alien together. Quote

BrickBuilder3213 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I wonder if Lego would ever release a multi-pack that's based on what mechs appear in a part of Invasion From Below. For example, Rocka Crawler, Tunneler Beast and Surge & Rocka Combat Machine could be packaged together because there were all in one specific part of the episode. Then, you could package Bulk Drill Machine, Crystal Beast and Breez Flea Machine together because the two mechs were attempting to fight off the Crystal Beasts in the episode. Both multi-packs could cost £40/£45 each. Quote

But some would have 3 sets in one since 3 of the combiners use 3 sets. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 The HF sets are available in limited stock on the Amazon UK site! Just search up the names of the sets and you can purchase them! Quote
Leewan Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Do they actually ship or is it just a pre-order ? Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 The HF sets are available in limited stock on the Amazon UK site! Just search up the names of the sets and you can purchase them! Comes up "usually dispatched within 2 to 5 weeks" for me - I think I'll hold off until my local LEGO store has them in. Speaking of the new sets, the new instructions have meant that I've already leaped into generating modifications on LDD. This is what I did to Rocka Crawler (it was going to get it's own topic, but I think I'll hold off until I've actually built them in real life): LEGO Hero Factory MOD - 44023 Rocka Crawler (render) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Quote

Too bad my nearest LEGO Store is 12 hours away :( I'm hoping the same is true for the UK brand stores too (but it probably isn't), I'll probably be popping round to two brand stores in the next two weeks, so I'm going to keep an eye out. I can't wait to put my planned MODs into practice Quote
Agent Fusion Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I visited one yesterday, but didn't find any. Every other summer set was there as well, including Chima ultrabuilds. If only I brought enough money with me... Quote
