EDIT: Also, I really, really appreciate the number of parts printed on the packaging. Makes counting those a lot easier (it's easily the one thing I don't enjoy while writing set reviews).

Don't get too used to it. That's not a feature of the upcoming sets so much as the same regional distinction there's always been. We Americans have had part count printed on Lego set packaging since before my time (so, pre-1990s). Other countries don't necessarily get that privilege, and just because these pictures show packaging with part count doesn't mean it'll have that wherever you call home.

Well, I'll be getting everything. Thankfully there is a Toys R Us right up the road from me. Definitely gonna give Evo's mech new lower legs and replace the green w/ blue.

Honestly, I hope the minifig heads are transparent, non-printed pieces. One of my biggest issues with minifig helmets is that I can't turn the head very easily. Since the helmet connection is looser than the neck, the helmet just swivels around and the head stays stationary. And it bugs me when the eyes don't line up.

And transparent for light-up eyes, and minifig heads look cool when they're transparent.

The weapons are just bits of scenery that they tore out of city around them to clobber the Heroes with. One is a streetlamp and the other is a radio antenna from the top of a building. Not a whole lot of mystery there.

That's a bizarrely scaled streetlamp =P. Doesn't Jaw Beast have a shield, though?

Edit: Also, Evo and Stormer appear to be the only ones with the attached communications device; some storyline purpose there, mayhaps?

No... there's nothing resembling a shield in the prelim pics. He just has a single talon on each wrist (same piece as Flyer Beast's talons).

Huh, thought it was an oddly angled shield that he was holding face-down. Either way, I like this street-light concept (even if it is weirdly proportioned).

Still waiting for someone to upload hi-res pics on Brickshelf!

I think they're just there for decoration purposes only.

I have made a moc of what parts the hero minifigures pieces are most like. I made Rocka since the head I used was most like Rocka's helmet

Pieces used

Ninjago Skeleton Body

General Grevious arms

TMNT Fishlegs legs

Galaxy Squad Blue Robot Head

Alien Avenger/Galaxy Patrol armor

Thanks very much!

I do hope the minifigs don't use a skeleton body underneath, it just doesn't fit.

I think at this point it's pretty clear that they do. I don't think it should be a problem. After all, it's more substantial than the skeletons they had as constraction sets (which were just a spine, hips, and shoulders)!

I do somewhat wish that they used the Ninjago skeleton bodies, since the classic skeleton bodies are not the same size as a classic minifigure torso (they're slightly thinner). Wonder how they'll deal with that potential issue.

OPINION TIME!

FLYER Beast vs. BREEZ: Oh boy. Breez. Your helmet. I now can clearly see that she has the chain in the beast's mouth. Kewl

FURNO Jet Machine: BLUE EYES? anyways, Same opinion. his helmet is HUGE. still, I like it.

ROCKA Stealth Machine: Okay. Does'nt look that stealthy. Looks the same as before.

EVO XL MACHINE: Whelp....................................... THAT BODY DESIGN IS AMAZING. I might get this.

STORMER Freezer Machine: Get rid of that orange in the cockpit. Looks OK.

SPLITTER BEAST vs. FURNO and EVO: Has best art. I am a big fan of this.

Ones I'll get:

FLYER Beast vs. BREEZ

FURNO Jet Machine

STORMER Freezer Machine

ROCKA Stealth Machine

EVO Walker (Until I see final pics for THAT one  )

Let's just be thankful it's not this skeleton body!

Floppy arms ahoy!

Yeah, that wouldn't be optimal. However, I always have found a use to them since the arms can bend in any direction versus the stationary ones.

Anyway, I just realized, those Hero Factory logos, on the Heroes armor, are printed 1X1 flat studs! *oh2* Need now. ( )

now what i'm curious is what kind of combiner we will get next year. and who paired with who.

Yay, finalized pics!

I'm still one of the few people here (if not the only one) who is not totally stoked for the mech theme of the new HF wave. I guess it's just I prefer actual, sentient robots over mechs. Nonetheless, some of the builds and many of the new parts appeal to the MOCist in me. Aside from Flyer Beast and Splitter Beast, I'm also pondering about getting my hands on Evo XL, and perhaps Stormer just for the virtue of being Stormer (and I kinda collect Stormers by now).

The other Hero mechs don't appeal to me all that much though.

Also, even if I don't care much for the mech theme, I still applaud LEGO for the courage to evolve Hero Factory (and constraction in general) in a new direction.

Also, if I'm totally honest, I'd try to build one of these mechs inscale with the larger HF-scale, if I had all the pieces that I would need to pull that off.

will you do a review for these sets?

Eh, same. I do agree that the parts are pretty nice, though.

Gotta say, I'm impressed as always when it comes to Hero Factory and this year is no exception. I'm glad that LEGO finally made Mini-figs for my most favorite theme! I kinda like all of the sets and i have every set up to date (excluding Europe exclusive polybags)(got 8 black brains too) so I'll definetly buy all of these as well. Multiples too. Hero Factory FTW!

Not much of a difference from the prelims, but it's still very nice to see finalized pics.

These "Kaiju" creatures are pretty good.

I like the inclusion of the azure bones and the azure color scheme.

And it's finally nice to get confirmation that Splitter Beast..does in fact split(no duh).

I'm really liking the mechs more than I though I would.

My favorite is honestly Rocka Stealth Machine, but Stormer's comes in on a hot 2nd.

And dem minifigs..those are really cool and I can't wait to see them in person..along with the sets of course.

Overall, nice job Lego! I really do like this wave more than Brain Attack for sure.

:D

But seriously those "Kaiju" heads just scream the Knifehead Kaiju from Pacific Rim(as if that hasn't been said like a million times).

I love the look of these sets! I can't wait to see the final pictures for the two smallest sets! :D

But I REALLY hope the clear panes for the cockpits are printed... I really don't want to put stickers on them. ;o;

Also, am I the only person who would preferred the coloured, rounded glass pieces from the prelims over the clear, chunky glass pieces from the final pics?

the clear panels for the cockpit will most likely printed. there are no hints that they use stickers.

oh, and the glass is always this chunky ones either in the prelims and here.

I'm sure you're not the only one, I'm still divided myself. On one hand, it's a totally new concept for constraction lines, and the overall execution is very well thought out. On the other, I'm not totally sure how I can integrate these sets in my HFverse.

As a MOCer, though, I have no doubt this is a good line (would've liked some new weapons, though). The printed pieces are especially a nice surprise- I'm very tempted to equip the Heroes with them. Some recolours are great as well, like the paws and Stormer XL feet.

Plus the designs of the mechs are quite inspirational, especially Furno JM. Its shoulder/chest build is unique as far as I can see. I'm not sure since pics aren't out yet, but Jaw Beast might have a unique torso as well. Evo XL M. also seems well deisgned, legs aside.

Overall, I'll probably use the mechs in the same way I used BA Heroes- that is, I'll integrate some pieces into their Breakout forms, like the printed shells for example. Too bad Breez doesn't seem to get her own mech, at least not in this wave. But I still have some hope for the big set Front implied (not sure if I can trust him after the bones incident though  ).

As for the Beasts, all 3 are awesome, but that doesn't mean they won't escape from the usual mods- it's like an addiction for me. I, however, know I'll get them for sure, unlike the BA Villains. They look menacing, consistent and actually COOL.

Speaking of the cockpits, that might just be my biggest complaint.

Obviously to accommodate these sets they need the seat; but the colors of the seats are, so far, orange or lime, and on sets like Evo walker and stormer, they are throwing off the balance. Also I wish we had more colors of cockpits. We have 3 trans black and 2 Trans light blue. Although I'm not a fan of Evo being yellow and trans green, I would have liked to see a trans green window for that set.
