DOTM Shockwave Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Looking at the picture with the pile of parts, I can see the head used for the Hero Minifigures, and from what I can see, it's solid red. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well the cockpits are different and the one on brickshelf appears to have 2 wheels rather than 1 (and it's different than the one on Stormers arm, which come to think of it isn't really a wheel at all). I'd like to think it;s a new set, or just an alternative model with moding from the designers of the comic. Could just be a preliminary version of Stormer Freeze Machine. That's the most likely possibility, I'd say. Quote

Yeah thank you, I'd like to think I'm not crazy. Could just be a preliminary version of Stormer Freeze Machine. That's the most likely possibility, I'd say. Who knows, whatever it is it caught my eye. Quote
Kalhiki Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Pictures yay! Ahem. Evo XL looks great now despite what I said before. Definitely getting it over the Walker. Also, I'm equally interested in the comic. Giant 3-headed beast (look at it compared to Splitter Beast!). Also, that wheeled thing is indeed Stormer Freeze Machine. The "wheel" is actually the gun hand. Oh, and did anyone else notice Daniela Capricorn being attacked by Jaw Beast? Lower left corner of the first panel. Quote
xxlrocka Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Oh, and did anyone else notice Daniela Capricorn being attacked by Jaw Beast? Lower left corner of the first panel. Yeah, sure. Honestly, it was actually the second thing I noticed. Quote
Aethersprite Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Wow, that was fast. Let's hope LegoJang gets these sets soon. I'm still not sold on Evo XL Machine, though. I hate how his knees look so bare and the fact that he lacks ankle articulation. Quote
Shakar Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 While the three headed Beast looks awesome, I can't help but notice that it's heads are those of SP+FB. So it might be just a combination model, though it's weird Jawie gets left out. Quote

Awesome as a 3 headed beast would be, I think it's more than likely it's a combo model. The body looks pretty standard like SB's, which I don't think is enough to warrant a completely new set. EDIT: Who is this guy who's uploaded the pics, anyway? Is he a member here on EB or BZP? Edited November 25, 2013 by Lockon Stratos Quote

It's comments like this that get my hopes up for minifigs, why must you all torture me? Since it appears that the "wheeled" vehicle I saw will probably end up being the Stormer freeze machine, I am still impressed by how it looks, and can't wait to see the summer wave! Quote

He's Nuju Metru from BZPower, and he's still active there, though as far as I can tell he hasn't posted a full review (text+pictures) anywhere. Great MOCist. I've met him at Brickfair although we've never chatted a whole lot... that's more my fault than his. Takanuinuva Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Looking at the pic of the artwork. I can tell that's definitely Stormer freeze machine. I can see the arm with the fingers and the arm that connects to what you think is a wheel but is actually Stormer's mech's ice cannon. And looking in the pile of parts the heroes use this skeleton body from the castle themes. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60115. A shame but its hidden by the armor so its not noticeable. The little Kaiju have the same function the mini visorak had where you can fling them by pressing down on them. The cockpit piece attaches to torsos via a ball socket. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The very first panel in that comic would make a really great poster. Quote
Kalhiki Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Just occurred to me that the little Kaiju's lower halves are going to be made out of some sort of rubbery material. Seems pretty obvious, but it just didn't click until now. Also, I love how the black tops of the mini Kaiju are pretty generic. Seems that they could be used for extra details on MoCs. Quote

I'm glad we get to see these pictures at least though. Love the comparison with the minifig Hakann. I'm not much of a MOCist so I'm a little disappointed that the windscreens aren't printed, but the stickers are pretty small anyway so should be easy to apply. Quote

I thought the torso piece used for the heroes was already apparent to everyone. What do you mean by "a shame"? I think it's a pretty ingenious parts use myself, although I was initially a little surprised they didn't use the thicker and more angular skeleton body piece from Ninjago (normally, minifigure armor will wobble on an old-school skeleton body since it's thinner than a minifigure body, something the Ninjago skeleton bodies addressed, although I can now see that the torso armor will probably fit tight around the flat end of the shoulders to prevent wobbling. Not just small, but more importantly, they have well-defined edges and corners. Small stickers with rounded edges, or which don't cover a surface from edge to edge, can be infuriating to line up correctly on a piece. But these look like they shouldn't pose a real problem. Quote
ToaJaller78 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I nearly wet myself. Are they really out now, or is this an early sample? I really like the figures and the ART IS AMAZING. Quote
bacem Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 the part that connect the lower and upper parts of the body here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5988299 could it be it's the new "bone piece" that discussed at technic forum? Quote
Bob C Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) This is my first post although I've been a member for a 4 1/2 years! - I think the bag art itself is not really final. Only one has a "choking hazard" on the front and the small sets have some grainy pic on the front. Edited November 26, 2013 by Bob C Quote

BrickBuilder3213 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 After seeing that EVERY mech will use stickers for the cockpit and the storage containers, I've been put off from buying them. Stickers on translucent pieces are nothing but trouble. I mean, it was bad enough with doing the stickers for the canopy on Jet Rocka... But to do it for every set that focuses on a hero in a mech? No. Just no. At least if I decide to buy them all, I don't HAVE to have the heroes names on the cockpits or the storage containers. Quote
