Aanchir Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Haha, I just found a hilarious little easter egg in that trailer. Check out the billboard at . It's an ad for "Revinyl Infinite Music Quiz". If that doesn't sound like the sort of thing that'd be created for Hero Factory's robot universe, that's because it's not: Revinyl is a personal project of Christian Faber's! I bet he didn't expect anyone to notice before the episode aired! You get a look at Breez's new machine from several angles in the trailer. It seems to be a three-legged walker with a three-fingered claw attached to the back. You can see it really well at from behind and at from the front (it's following behind another walker with a green cargo cylinder), and you can see it on its own being attacked by jumpers at 0:32.The blue flying machine also has two cockpits and four legs shortly after it appears at , but only one cockpit and no legs in the next scene at 0:27, which leads me to believe the set will include two machines (a flyer and a walker) that can link up. But that leads me to wonder what other hero will accompany him in that set... Stringer, maybe? Edited December 9, 2013 by Aanchir Quote

Guess which Hero had an orange secondary colour~ EDIT; Wait that's the cockpit part, heh,,, Edited December 9, 2013 by Vinyl Scratch Quote
Dorek Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Bulk? Stringer back in his glory days? Furno sometimes? Secondary colors are pretty much bunk at this point. Not to mention that some of these machines could belong to Heroes we've already seen, what with Evo having at least two machines. Not to mention me not mentioning the fact that the chair parts (which is the orange bit) appear in a number of different colors, like Stormer's having orange. That said, it looks like Bulk to me. And the idea of Bulk in a flying machine is amazing. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Nevermind. It's Surge. BUT. Stringer is still in Invasion from Below. But I'm pretty sure that's Stormer and not Bulk. Quote
Kalhiki Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Since when does Stormer have a head ridge, though? Looks like there's one to me, and the shine seems to be too metallic/silvery to be Stormer's white. Plus he doesn't have the little side head holes that Stormer does. So, so far, Surge and Stringer are definite, Bulk is veeeeery likely, and Nex... Well, I haven't seen any indication of him. Edited December 9, 2013 by Kalhiki Quote

Though of course, it's always possible that Nex will be in the sets and was just omitted from the episode to keep the cast of characters small, like how Nex, Bulk, and Breez were ALL omitted from the Breakout TV special. Kalhiki Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 True. Plus, that may explain why Rocka has a different mech. He's just using a summer set mech which could belong to a different Hero. But, honestly, I'm still hoping we'll see everyone in the episode. After all, the Heroes share the same design (minus helmets), so the cost for making CGI models would be less than usual, right? After all, the Heroes share the same design (minus helmets), so the cost for making CGI models would be less than usual, right? True, but there's more to it than CGI models. The episode is only 22 minutes. You don't want there to be more characters than the audience can keep track of. That's part of why Nex, Breez, and Bulk were omitted from the Breakout special... and that was 44 minutes long! Of course, there IS the possibility of having Nex show up in a cameo, non-plot-essential role, but conservation of detail says that's probably not a good idea. It'd take up time and probably just raise more fan questions of "why did Nex show up at the beginning and then not show up again for the rest of the episode?" If he DOES appear, he should appear in a similar capacity to the other heroes, or in some smaller role that still manages to advance the plot. Also consider BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn. We KNOW that the creators of that had a CGI model for Malum, because they used it for the giant made from Scarabax beetles (And the little mini guide book that came with some copies of the movie had a size comparison of all the character models that even showed the Malum model with fully-rendered detail, albeit at the size of the Scarabax giant). But the actual CHARACTER couldn't really be featured because it already had a lot of characters for fans to keep track of, and some of them even had to be reduced to fairly minimal roles. That was eighty-eight minutes in length! All in all, extra characters can just end up being story clutter if they don't play an essential role in the story you set out to tell. And that's ESPECIALLY true with time constraints. Edited December 10, 2013 by Aanchir Quote
ToaJaller78 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I'M BACK! The new trailer is AMAZING! Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Yay! The annoying guy is back! xD Had to do it, dude. I've got a few thought that it is getting Power Miners' like. What means we could get mechs with drills and stuff like that for the second half of 2014. Don't you think? Quote

But I guess I'd rather have good focus on a select few than to have little focus on everyone. Quote
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Yay! The annoying guy is back! xD Had to do it, dude. This lol Anyways, pretty dissapointed the Kaiju didnt get different head molds in summer. Hope to see Nex and Strinfer though Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I can't wait for the summer wave after seeing the new trailer. There's a lot of stuff that I've seen that I'm looking forward to: Surge's Flight Machine Red Multi-legged Beast Azure Beast Hero Bipedal Walker Breez's Mech (?) New Mechs for Rocka and Evo (?) Surge, Stringer and Bulk (?) Minifigures Yellow Mini-Jumper Egg Keeper Beast So much good stuff! Quote
Aanchir Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 This isn't a huge big deal what with all the thorough reviews showing up, but this site lists all the new HF sets including piece count. Apparently Jaw Beast has 49 pieces and Evo Walker has 51. Since the site that gave us piece counts for the others (walmart.ca) didn't have those two sets listed, this is technically new info. Quote

Wow, spiltter beast seems like a really overpriced sets with it cost 200/20 only having barely over 100 pieces. Defiantly a not-buy for me. Quote

For Hero Factory sets, that's not all that unreasonable. It's a better price-per-piece than ANY $10 or lower Hero Factory set released to date. Not as good as some past $20 sets like Dragon Bolt, Black Phantom, and Fire Lord, but way better than the $20 Scorpio (just 104 pieces) or $25 Stormer XL (just 89 pieces), and still a better deal than buying any two small sets from previous years. Quote
Mesonak Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I know this shouldn't really be justification, but I've got a feeling the inclusion of minifigures is the reason for some slight price boosts here and there for this new wave. Especially for a set like Splitter Beast that contains two. And I don't really have a problem with it. Quote
VBBN Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Not going to make a topic for this yet because my camera is broken (Still going off of phone pics) but the trailer inspired me to make this; Still working on it but I really liked the though of a walker to carry around containment pods, and the second cockpit is due to a feature I've given it; The ability to split into three sections (A mech, a "lab" and a crane, but those looks quite terrible right now and will require redesigning) Built in a sort of "official" style. i.e this is what I'd expect out of a 50-75$ mech And ignore the beast I just threw him in for scale purposes Quote
howie28 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 That is one of the sweetest things I have seen in quite a while. ^ Good work sir. Quote
Lego Spy Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Not going to make a topic for this yet because my camera is broken (Still going off of phone pics) but the trailer inspired me to make this; Wow, that's a really nice MOC! I'd pay $50-$60 for that. (hint, hint Lego!) Quote
DraikNova Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) That MOC, VBBN, is what I call "carping awesome". I wasn't planning on MOCcing much this year, but that MOC is making me reconsider my decision. Edited December 14, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
Infernum Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Nice MOC VBBN! I checked in on my profile for the first time in a few days... Does anyone know how I got my Tahu mask? . I'm not complaining though! Quote
Xeros610 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) First of all, NICE MOC you have there! just noticed the trailer is in lego.com of other country...hope they don't make the same as last year tough(don't know if you knew before and if you did, well... ignore this...) http://herofactory.lego.com/fi-fi Also it as obvious a game was comming,I mean, it appeared de icon on the booklet and this image: because it looks, hope LEGO doesn't make a fake screenshot of the game, I'm just hoping...!, because we already saw it on breakout, I mean, how they putted an awesome image of the game that it never appeared on the game... EDIT: Oh, just noticed maybe this image is just for playing the video, but it sure looks like a game, tough... Also in the trailer it IS the egg keeper or queen, however you wanna call it, THE SAME as the super detailed one, if you didn't noticed, every single creature, or Kaiju, has this type of detail, for example, jaw beast on or SB on or in the same beast at ...the skin detail is more visible on the Lego.com one... but I can't post an URL for the exact seconds of the trailer of Lego.com, so..., for example in the 00:44 on the same, also, on the same second, you can see the skin detail on the mini creatures...
