Takanuinuva Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 VBBN since you have the mini kaiju can you see if they can fit into the galaxy squad egg pieces? Or do you not have any galaxy squad sets? Quote
Jetrax99 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Technically the whole comic was non-canon, sad as it is. And you would know how exactly? Hell, if we're going by that logic, the books aren't canon either. Edited December 19, 2013 by Jetrax99 Quote
Mesonak Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 And you would know how exactly? Hell, if we're going by that logic, the books aren't canon either. Dorek may have his own reasons, but the greatest reason I can think of is that it doesn't match up whatsoever with the events in the TV show and the TV show is obviously the main source of "canon" story material. A lot of stuff in the books doesn't match up with the TV show. He's referencing the comics specifically. Also, the episode didn't make light of the gender at all. Same thing happened with Bionicle. Things happened in the comics that didn't appear in the movies *cough*morbuzahk*cough*. They we still canon. Why should HF be any different. Quote
coolcab1 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 the show doesn't show everything that happened what they show is half of the fight Quote

They we still canon. Why should HF be any different. Well, Hero Factory's story has a much less top-down approach to storytelling in general. In BIONICLE, the story team put a huge emphasis on ensuring everything was part of the same overarching story, with just a few exceptions like certain online games and video games. In contrast, Hero Factory has one main story (told primarily through the TV episodes), and other media like the books and comics are purely supplemental. The comics have contradicted the TV episodes before, such as the sequence of events and the portrayal of the upgrade in the "Ordeal of Fire" comic. Quote
Bob C Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 that's true... although I never really got into the story of bionicle, the whole story kind of got into your head if you had any interest in the sets. The very different thing about bionicle was that they had a small storyline for every single toy that was released. I remember the mini comics that came in the 2004 matoran, and now that I think about it, it was quite a lot of effort put into something that came with a 4 dollar set. on the other hand HF has a basic story which is not restrictive, allowing you to build any hero with any name you want (whereas there was only a set number of toa). bionicle had a great collection of rahi that were much more than generic "bad guys". so I'd say either theme has its own storyline strengths. Sir Brickalot Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Europe has been getting them almost as early as the US in the past years. -Gata Oh, I knew that . I meant in general, all the themes. Quote

Don't have any of the GS sets. 2.80mm(W)x3.85mm(L)x2.40mm(H) Theres the dimensions for the miniature kaiju, so anyone with the GS pods can determine if that would fit Quote
DraikNova Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) They won't. The dimensions are 3,00*3,00*3,50. Only the larger, more asymmetric cocoons would let them fit in. Edited December 19, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
Takanuinuva Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 What egg like piece would they fit in then? Tridax Pods? Quote
Bigger Fish Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Looks fairly interesting. Confirms that the big beast is in fact a "Queen" and is likely the largest beast that we'll be receiving. :/ Also, this: This episode's gonna be a reaction face gold mine! Quote
DraikNova Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 What egg like piece would they fit in then? Tridax Pods? Tridax pods are even smaller. I suspect only the larger GS cocoons designed for minifigures to stand in would work. Quote
Ikkad555 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Regarding the kaiju egg discussion; I went around the other themes and came across this: Is that a new piece she's using? Could it be the same pieces represented by these? Quote

Could it be the same pieces represented by these? It isn't a new piece, but a crater piece that doesn't get used too often. A lot of the late-ninties Arctic sets used it, and it appeared a lot in Chima last year. I would provide some links, but I'm on mobile and my computer isn't working. Quote

Here you go: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30286 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30342 They're four studs wide, about the same size as a Tridax Pod or the boulder from the original Pohatu set. There's no way the jumper will fit in there unless its legs are far more flexible than I think. Quote

Ikkad555 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Argh, and I was so excited that I had something going this time. Well, on the topic of part identification, can anyone tell what this one is? (I made a new batch of trailer screenshots by the way. Not much new, but they're there if y'all wanna see. Click the picture for the un-MSPainted version of this and the rest!) It's connected to what looks to be Bulk 3.0's wrist attachments. It looks to be an interesting way to build an arm, and I like that they didn't give it the standard Hero fists that even the CGI Jet Machine got. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Looks to be an exo force arm and maybe the minifig chainsaw piece? Quote

It was very clear to me what part it was when I first watched the video, but maybe I'm just more familiar with that chainsaw part than you are. Quote

Takanuinuva Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I feel like the Alternate Rocka mech and the Surge mech are one set that combines. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I feel like the Alternate Rocka mech and the Surge mech are one set that combines. Are we still talking about the little gold one with the chainsaws? I think it's unlikely. Surge's set already seems to include Surge, Rocka, and two blue vehicles that combine (a flying machine and a four-legged walker). The smaller, gold Rocka mech is probably going to be an individual $10 set like Evo Walker. Quote
Shakar Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Oh, I can finally see how the Queen's wings work. I assumed they used the same pieces the Spider Tribe sets use as legs from the very start.. but they seemed too short. Now I can see Spinlyn clearly, the new leg pieces aren't one piece, the section with clip and the claw being two existing pieces we know well. The new piece has a pin on one end and a hole on the other. That means those pieces are MODULAR! Each wing "finger" on the Beast Queen is made by three spider legs connected together, with a claw at the end. And since it's a handle bar connection, that means they can attach to cladding in the same way the "feathers" from the Chi Ultrabuild birds did. And you can use them as fingers too. AND, either way, you can adjust their length. One of 2014's best new parts! Quote
