Gatanui Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 They are available everywhere except for US and Canada now, I think. The prices are okay here, as only the middle-sized sets have seen a 2€-increase. The prices in Finland, for instance, are awfully high, though. They already were in 2013, though. -Gata Quote
davidr Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) What the? They're (theoreticly) available here before year of release? That's the first time over here. The prices are OK in my country (small +1€, medium +1,66€, large probably the same and Evo XL had no match in price). I just don't see Jaw Beast in the product list. And many E-shops have discounts from the official prices from the beginning, so prices often can match with American ones. Edited December 27, 2013 by davidr Quote
Shakar Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Too bad there's no JB..really tempted to buy something, but I think I'll wait. Actually, JB is here: http://shop.lego.com/en-IT/JAW-Beast-vs-STORMER-44016. Found on Recommended Products. Edited December 27, 2013 by Shakar Quote
Takanuinuva Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I really really hope they don't include Canada in with the US in terms or releasing Hero Factory. I will be really upset if Canada gets the Sets in March instead of January like the rest of the world. Only US was said to get the sets in March. Quote
DraikNova Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) I'm really liking the beasts. Flyer Beast especially. The smaller sets seem much better than Splitter Beast, although I've already gotten an idea for a new MOC from him. The translucent parts on Jaw Beast seem a slightly strange choice to me, as they are far darker than the azure if not held in (very) bright light. EDIT: Regarding the prices, they were all available for the normal ones if I remember correctly. Edited December 27, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
coolcab1 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 From the description of Rocka's stealth machine they are not using plasma guns but goo guns Quote
DraikNova Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Now that I've looked at the trailer again, the Queen seems like a pretty good set. Lots of useful parts. In terms of MOCcing potential, this wave looks to be a good one; since the kaiju seemed far too small for my liking, I've started work on a LDD project. At minifig scale, it's about 400 meters long, or about eight Godzillas. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) actually, minifigures did driving up the price in reality. notice how the price of legend beasts and mixels differs a lot just because the legend beast have a minifigs, even tough the beast itself have the piece count not far from mixels. this is probably because minifigs become a main reason for some of the afol to buy sets. by adding minifigs, lego hope that HF can also attract non HF fan to turn into HF, in which they already used to think that price increase by minifigs are perfectly normal. While minifigures DO tend to drive up a set's price (especially ones with a lot of prints or new molds), the Legend Beasts have WAY higher piece counts than the Mixels. Each Legend Beast has between 100 and 120 pieces, which is about twice the piece count of a typical Mixels set. The fact that they have a higher price should not surprise anyone. I think the value per piece of the new sets should not be radically changed by the addition of minifigures, though. After all, previous sets have also included lots of tiny detail elements like spikes, fingers/clamps, flick missiles, and chain links, not to mention Hero Cores. Having minifigures instead is not a huge change. Edited December 28, 2013 by Aanchir Quote

The Queen actually looks quite interesting, especially with the eggs, the body design and the staff of hers. However, I still feel that we need a BIGGER villain... Something that's bigger than the largest Hero Mech. Quote

Surprisingly small for a titan, in my opinion. Definitely not giant and LEGO could certainly afford designing a taller set. I'm fairly certain Witch Doctor is taller than Evo XL. -Gata Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I'm still sure that the completely Azure, super-detailed face is that of a much bigger beast that they don't want to spoil... Maybe the "Queen" is really just a guardian... Quote

BrickBuilder3213 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Even the tiny little beast that's attacked to the back of Splitter Beast? Quote
DraikNova Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Yes, actually. I'm pretty sure the Queen Kaiju is the largest we're going to get. Is anyone else working on Kaiju MOCs? Quote
bacem Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 probably, when i can get my hand on the sets. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I've already got a WIP... A revamp of the existing combo model for the "Hydra Beast". I'm making it larger, bulkier and more posable than the original. ^w^ Quote
Aanchir Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I don't really think there NEEDS to be a larger villain set, especially since there will probably be combi models for the summer sets as well. It's always nice to see large Hero Factory models just as evidence that it can be accomplished, but the scale of Hero Factory sets in general and these minifigure-based sets in particular does not demand that sets be enormous to tower over a typical hero. Think about it this way — a small hero or machine set is about the same height as a Toa Mata or Toa Nuva. A medium-sized hero or machine set is just ever so slightly taller. And in classic BIONICLE sets, the largest humanoid villain (not counting the weirdness that was the Bohrok Kaita) was Makuta, who was less than ten inches tall — not even the height of sets like Black Phantom! From the look of it, I imagine the new "queen" set will be close to Makuta's height. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I just realized the old Hero sets could be used as Jaeger sets against the Kaijus, haha. Maybe replace the chest armour for the cockpit piece, and you could have yourself a personal Jaeger for the Minifig Hero. This wave brought so much MOC potential to the series. Quote
Zachattacx Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Yes, actually. I'm pretty sure the Queen Kaiju is the largest we're going to get. Is anyone else working on Kaiju MOCs? I did. I mainly made a custom head for it. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Just found out that North America won't be getting the new Hero Factory sets till March. That includes Canada. So VBBN was not completely right about only the US getting the new sets in March When I found this out this was my reaction Quote
VBBN Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Just found out that North America won't be getting the new Hero Factory sets till March. That includes Canada. So VBBN was not completely right about only the US getting the new sets in March Lego specifically told me and BZP the US, they did not say North America (BZP stated North America in one of their recent articles with no clear source), I find it somewhat annoying if they in fact meant North America as that is a major extra group of people to be excluded for 2 more months from the figures release. (But remember, that's just when the sets will hit Lego stores and S@H, sometimes before the specific date) Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 The UK won't be getting the sets until January 18th. So much for getting my Christmas presents around the end of December. -o- Quote
exxtrooper Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Despite the catalogue in lego stating they wont be available until March, they are in the Norwegian lego shop: http://shop.lego.com/en-NO/Hero-Factory-ByTheme?bcBack=yes What exactly is going on here? I think i need to check if they're on shelves next time I'm out. Quote
Shakar Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 That goes for USA only. Europe gets them on January as usual. Quote
