Gatanui Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Whats with the sets appearing everywhere? I thought they were only gonna be out in march in the US, seems like march release in the North as well Guess I'll wait until they show up on Amazon UK like last year, hopefully will happen soon. Norway has the sets on LEGO.com. -Gata Quote
exxtrooper Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Norway has the sets on LEGO.com. -Gata While this is nice, they are still shipped overseas as indicated by the price. Though it might just be worth it as I am not fond of waiting two months. Quote
Dorek Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I don't mind waiting, personally. But it'll be interesting to see how this also affects the summer sets release as well (and it's going to be funny seeing Toyfair where none of the sets are actually out). Quote

Personally, I think that might be a plus. I don't have to be tempted to buy any of the winter sets until I've seen the summer ones and can more effectively plan my purchases! Quote
Zenerius Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Funny. The new sets are released near my birthday, atleast in the UK. I seriously doubt the Lego stores in the US will have the new sets, sadly. Looks like I'm stuck with Brain Attack. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I know this is a little off topic, but has anyone managed to build a MOC of the skeletal builds for the Queen Beast, Breez Anchor Machine and Surge & Rocka Battle Machine? Quote
Gatanui Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Hero Factory website is UPDATED, even the US version, but it's lacking most of the new content. Still, it has a new design, too, and it looks great. Check it out! Evo STILL has a description that would fit to Nex, though. -Gata Edited January 9, 2014 by Gatanui Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 This is so much better than the timeline design. Absolutely better. Albeit I can't seem to watch any of the new mini movies D: Quote

Vinyl Scratch Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Oh as soon as I posted that the video loaded and... ... They changed all the Heroes's voice actors, I believe it's all of them, Evo, Stormer, Bulk and Rocka don't sound as they used to. EDIT: Aaaaagh Breez seems to have gotten Stringer's cowboy attitude a wee bit. Edited January 9, 2014 by Vinyl Scratch Quote

EDIT: Aaaaagh Breez seems to have gotten Stringer's cowboy attitude a wee bit. I sure hope those voices were random VAs that they got just to do the abridged video version on the cheap. Noone sounds remotely right. Why was Surge randomly channelling the spirit of Nex? Why has Stormer apparently been inhaling helium? Why do everyone's faces look so weird? Why the hell did no one think to get stringer and Nex in on this and get stringer to just fire a giant subwoofer at the thing? Surely that was the most logical course of action?! Actually, playing the game now, they've got new VAs. All of them. And Evo's personality got changed yet again. I fear that Nex and Stringer were deleted and their personalities were given to Evo and Breez... Quote
Gatanui Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 This kind of feels like a reboot like the one they did with the Alpha Team theme, sort of. -Gata Quote
Chro Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Giant subwoofers are always the most logical course of action Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 This kind of feels like a reboot like the one they did with the Alpha Team theme, sort of. -Gata It really does. They've all changed and there's no hint at all of any giant mastermind like Von Nebula or the Brain Maker. Really weird. Quote

Curiously, they've kept all the original voice actors in the German version, which is a rushed five-minute summary. Guess they want to save the full episode for TV. Why couldn't they keep the voice actors on the English version, though? Hero Factory feels like a different theme now- which is perhaps what LEGO intended. It's kind of cute now, though, somehow. :P -Gata Edited January 9, 2014 by Gatanui Quote

Kalhiki Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 If the mini movie is using the same voice actors that will be used in the episode (I'm assuming so), they aren't that bad. But the acting is... sub-par. Aside from that, the animation is beautiful! Also, the Drilling Machine doesn't live up to my expectations. Bulk's Drill is not the one that'll pierce the heavens. I'll just have to revamp it into a humanoid machine. Seems easy enough considering it's a four-legged walker (two arms, two legs). Quote

I haven't played the game through yet so I can't speak for the version that appears when doing that, but there is also a button to show the entire movie without breaks inside the game, where the German version is like that. Flyer Beast does appear, though. -Gata Edited January 9, 2014 by Gatanui Quote
VBBN Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 My MOC from a week ago is terrifyingly similar Well, legs and cockpit design at least Quote
WARHEAD Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 The new voices are at least 10x times better, in my honest opinion at least. Haven't really enjoyed the previous episodes but this one really appeals to me for some reason. Oh, the music in the game is pretty sweet too. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Okay just beat the game. CLIFFHANGER! The heroes go back to Makuhero City, and I believe Stormer says that he's glad that they don't have to bother about any cocoons anymore. Cue panning to the back of the ship, there's a cocoon hidden behind a crate. They're bringing the Jumpers to Makuhero City. ... Again. Another Cliffhanger that will never be explained at all, hurray. EDIT: Voice Actors: Evo - Justin Murphy Stormer - Peter Sepenuk Bulk - Chad Randau Breez - Karen Strassman Furno - Chad Randau Surge - Justin Murphy Rocka - Christopher Smith Female Pilot - Karen Strassman Battle Machine Voice - Karen Strassman Antropolis Mayor - Peter Sepenuk Foreman Worker - Christopher Smith Assistant Worker - Peter Sepenuk Fanboy Worker - Chad Randau Five voice actors voiced all of the characters from a 22 minutes (?) movie, wow. Surprised they got Karen Strassman in, she voiced Kitana and Mileena in Mortal Kombat 9 and millions of characters in anime shows. Haven't really heard of the rest thoguh. WARHEAD Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 A couple of other things I noticed too. The first, obvious one, is that we're getting blue shelled jumper beasts in the summer instead of black ones, which is kinda lame, IMO. I was kinda hoping we'd get the main body parts in new colors. The other thing is that the models in the game are based on the actual sets and the summer beasts have those exo-force arm fingered hands even in the game, so they didn't add it just for the episode, that's pretty sweet. Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) So if the episode is part of the game, can someone record the full episode and upload it to Youtube? I'm excited to see it. EDIT: Nevermind. I'll just change the region on the website. Ha! Loopholes. Edited January 10, 2014 by Kalhiki Quote
