Why are the pictures so blurry? I thought that if you're a retailer you have every right to share the sets?

Actually, the contents of the catalogue have to be trated confidentially by the retailers.

Nnnnope.

Sharing could mean LEGO decides not to do business with you anymore.

Which is why we don't get flooded with scan after scan of product catalogs as soon as retailers get them.

Oh I didn't know that...I thought either the retailers were afraid, or that the posters of the pictures were customers getting a sneak peek.

I forgot to say..the Queen's chest printing is orange in the episode, but blue in the set. Odd. Crystal Beast's chest printing looked the same orange in some shots and green in others. I wonder if the two things are related...

Keep in mind that these set pictures are preliminary, so we shouldn't make any assumptions about colors at this stage.

I noticed yesterday that the battle scene is full of references to HF designers (Christoph Games, Brian's Coffee...), and there is even a reference to Matt Betteker's blog (look at the logo on Jaw Beast's arm), so I assume he's the one who drew the comics. I really appreciate those little references and "winks".

BTW, do somebody know who designed which sets ?

Love all these details. No, sadly, I don't know who designed this year's sets. Sometimes the designers share their own set designs on their Facebook pages, but I don't have the time to look those up right now. And I most certainly am NOT admitting that I have done so in the past. :innocent:

Pretty sure they keep them. I was actually given one two and a half years ago. ^^

Nobody ever pretended it was a serious theme. At least not as serious as BIONICLE, though most likely more than, say, Ninjago.

Yeah, agreed. Hero Factory has never really gone to great lengths to hide its silliness. Hero Factory FM reveled in it, the Hero Pad challenge videos were pure slapstick, and several bits of media include crossovers with the real world and references to the LEGO company and its Hero Factory product line.

But it's not without good reason, if you think about it all media related to HF is advertising the building sets as they are the only things that you pay money for. If there is a DVD (or theater) movie of Hero Factory, then it would be a lot more serious and not so slapstick

that probably explains why there's no further information about HF live action movie that we hear of on 2012.

Yeah, I had forgotten that. Like the 2012 catalog (the one that revealed Speeda Demon), showing the Summer heroes with white (or were they silver?) plain torsos.

Blue would be rather weird, as she has no blue on her colour scheme. Perhaps it's gold? Her staff end blades and fins on her neck are in that colour.

Doesn't explain Crystal Beast's colour changing chest printing though. I still think there's a correlation.

Speaking of the Queen, I like her set a lot more now. I thought her body was completely vertical, with the four legs sticking out, but she actually has a well designed insect-like horizontal body section+abdomen. I can't wait to see more of her. Definitely the best looking Beast for me.

Invasion from Below is probably the best wave of sets we've gotten since Breakout. Can't wait till Toy Fair begins and we get to see the new sets.

Being Brain Attack the only wave between those two, that doesn't mean a lot.

But the new sets are looking awesome nevertheless, though I don't think I'll buy any of theam, at least for now.

I don't like the Invasion from Below wave and i still like Breakout more, the only one that are good in wave to me are Jaw and Flyer beast and the Stormer and Furno Mechs. The ones that are really bad in wave 1 are Evo Walker and Evo XL (not a XL). Edited by ShadowWolfHount

Well, after watching the episode again, I've realized that there's a very obvious and sensible in-universe reason for the heroes to have similar voices: it would be inefficient to produce slightly different models of voice box, especially when the only reason for it (recognition) can be done via other methods (such as radio signals). Any difference in the vocal patterns would have to be a learned phenomenon, which, seeing as the heroes probably undergo similar training periods before being sent out into the field, will still not produce significant differences.

How is Evo XL not an XL? The set is huge, and comes with all these great features. It's definitely the set I'm most interested in.

The set itself isn't very big but if you figure the minifigure size when compared to it, its the biggest XL I suppose

I have a feeling that someone is going to mod Evo XL to look like a traditional XL figure. It shouldn't be too hard actually. All you really need is the Breakout variation of Evo, or even Brain Attack Evo.

Evo is not a XL, he is the size as the other heroes, the only thing that is a XL is the Machine so it mostly should be called "Evo" Titan Machine XL or just Evo Titan Machine.

The set's name actually is Evo XL Machine, so what are you complaining about ?

Nothing, only that the name of the set because when i see "Evo XL" i think of the character but when it have Machine i think that the XL form of Evo gets a Mech but it just a normal Evo not a XL but a bigger Mech and i think they should have of call the Mech a Titan Machine.

Oh and another thing, the set legs are really bad.

Since XL and Titan basically mean the same thing in constraction terms, wouldn't XL Machine and Titan Machine also mean the same thing? And by extension, wouldn't Evo XL Machine and Evo Titan Machine mean the same thing?

In any event, nobody's going to be buying the set thinking it's something other than what it is since you tend to at least see a picture of the set before buying it, so I don't see how the name is a serious issue.

Well, it's a bit like saying that it's Furno Jet's Machine, or Stormer Freeze's Machine, implying that The machines belong to Furno Jet (which would be a Furno minifig equipped with jet engines) and Stormer Freeze (and I can't help but think of a frozen Stormer  ). So this is really nothing of a big issue, it might indeed sound weird, and when we discovered the set's name before we get the first pictures we also thought we would get an XL version of Evo, but this naming is consistent with the other sets' names.

I'm starting a petition to ignore the invasion from below mini-movie and just extrapolate a better story from the instruction comics.

Seriously how do you muck up bonkles + Pacific rim that badly.

Is nomenclature that important though?? Usually even Lego doesn't really care and changes the names sometimes (remember the rahaga (tahkon &lahka)).

What does lego usually show at Nurnberg Toy Fair? I used to read Toys.top10-digest.com (a horrible russian translated back to english website) and it never really made it a point to refer to a certain toy fair.

LEGO tends to show off most of their new products at Nürnberg I think, but we don't tend to get a lot of photos from there because I believe photography is prohibited on the show floor (or at least in the LEGO Group's booth). I believe some websites do get special press priveleges to shoot photos and video, but not a lot. So New York Toy Fair in February is the first time we tend to get a lot of high quality summer set photos and videos.

I've noticed that we've got the return of hard-to-find parts for this year's Winter wave... (Stormer XL feet and mini dog bone, Furno 1.0/Jawblade blades, azure bones)

What returning parts do you think we'll get in the Summer Wave? I'm personally hoping for the titan-sized bones that we got with Fire Lord and Black Phantom, seeing as I never got bones in that length.
