BrickBuilder3213 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Yes, I'm sure. When the game cuts to a Mission Progress screen in the video, you can see that the Jumpers have blue backs... Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I didn't want to create a new topic for this, so here you go, I tried to do an alternate build for the EVO Walker, with a more classic mecha frame. It made me enjoy the set way more, as I feel mechas are more versatile. However, it's in french, so don't hesitate to mute and get your playlist out, 'cause Evo do like some good hard rock. I'm not sure embedded videos are welcome on the topic, so please tell me if it must be a link, and I will correct it. Thanks. Thanks a lot. Now I want a set I wasn't intending on getting. In all honesty, though, that's fantastic work and makes the set loads better. And it seems to be able to stand up well enough, too! Quote

Bigger Fish Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Am I the only one who wants 2015 to return to figures and be either a ninja/samurai theme, a vehicle theme (Minifigs could work there), or a Gatchaman homage/bird/sky theme? Quote
WARHEAD Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I still think we'll be lucky to get HF at ALL next year. But that's ok, change is good. As long as the parts aren't useless. (coughgalidorcough) Quote

Logan McOwen Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Hold on a sec... In the one Comic painting, with all the Wave 1 IFB machines battling the beasties... The Evo XL mech is clearly seen, but up above... The Evo Walker can be seen too? WHO Quote

Shakar Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Here's the jumper blue back Can you say "wasted recolour"?Seriously, the Beasts' main colour is black, it makes perfect sense for the larvae to be black. But blue makes no sense, especially considering no Beast features it. Hold on a sec... In the one Comic painting, with all the Wave 1 IFB machines battling the beasties... But the MAJORITY of them feature Dark Azur, and for all we know that could be the color used in the summer jumpers. Let's give it a little more time. NY Toy Fair's only a month away. Quote

Thanks, I transmitted your request to Loserkiller, he didn't reply me on the subject yet, but it did reach him, at least. whoa! that is a cool alternate! now i wanna buy evo walker, even tough i didn't really interested in it before. Thanks ! I'm getting an EVO Walker too, so I can have this little guy with me to fiddle with. *snip* oops i slipped That does look quite cool ! I'm not a fan of these feet for mechanical builds and I feel like the silver parts should be dark metal, but all in all, it works very well as a minimalistic mech. Quote

Actually, most of them use Medium Azur, not Dark Azur. But still, I have to agree. We don't even know for certain that these blue jumpers will be appearing in sets, let alone what shade of blue they'll be when/if they do appear. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Jang on YouTube has made MOCs of all the summer sets based on what was seen in the game and in the movie, which gives us a nice pre-Toy Fair look at the sets. Quote
exxtrooper Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Looking at these models, although not 100% accurate, and given a little bit of thought, the summer wave doesn't really bring any new parts apart from Queens wings and new minifigs. While this is an amazing year it's quite lacking in the new parts department, though I'm still quite fond of it. At first I was planning to just buy a couple from the first wave as the summer wave most likely brought in a lot cooler sets, but given the parts selection most of these can be built from the sets of the first wave. Which is good because I'm quite an impatient man. Though I'll still buy that double cockpit walker/glider type thing, simply because it just looks so damn cool. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Strangely enough, there are a lot of errors in those MOCs compared to his usual standards. For example, Breez' mech uses Bohrok eyes instead of system slopes (which he probably has a few of left from his Bionicle MOCcing days, unless he got rid of technic parts along with all his other Bionicle stuff). Oh well, there's probably a perfectly valid reason that will make me look stupid. Edited January 18, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
korpen4444 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I haven't watched them, but I've seen their thumbnails(does that count? I'm subscribed to him btw.) and they look good. They looked accurate first glance. Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Watched some of them. And I realized something. The Kaiju look much better with the under bite. I'm so glad all the beasts in the summer use that look. And honestly due to the head construction, it seems like the heads are supposed to have an under bite (lower jaw opens down on animals). (andIthinktheoverbitelooksweirdbutthat'sjustmyopinion...) Quote
Zenerius Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Wow, Jang represented the new sets better than I thought. I'm definitely getting Surge's combiner machine. 'Nuff said. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I really like the look of the (un)official builds for the Summer sets. I just wish that I could see how the Surge & Rocka Combiner Machine's skeleton is built... Quote
