Shakar Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Has anyone figured out how the cocoons work yet? At first they seem like each piece in an half, but then you see three "leave" tips bending outwards, so each piece is actually a third. I know Huw confirmed that in his report over Brickset, I just personally wasn't sure about it at first. If I had to guess, each leave has an axle hole, so you can attack three to one of these to create a full cocoon. Not sure how the piece(s) attach to TB and the Queen though. And the Queen uses two torso bones connected through two of these, doesn't she? What I can't figure out is the size of those torsos. The upper one looks like a XT4 torso, the only thing I'm not sure about is her shoulder width (the XT4 torso shoulders are as wide as a medium torso hips). Could it be that both are XT4 torsos? That would make her rather small, but since sets are getting smaller and smaller since 2013.. The best thing about her build, anyway, is how much you can change her size (which is one of the best thing about the CCBS, really)...two XL torsos would make one huge Queen. Or you could do the opposite, like the MOC I'll post in a few hours. [/shamelessselpromoting] Edited February 7, 2014 by Shakar Quote
Lyichir Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Just bought and built FJM today, and wow, I'm impressed. Not just by FJM's specialized build, but by how well the CCBS manages to pull off the mech feel. The new cockpit part integrates perfectly, and although I was a little annoyed by how hard it is to position the Herofig's hands on the controls perfetly, overall I'm in love with the set. Unfortunately this is going to be the only set I'm getting from this wave, going to be saving up for other themes and the summer Chima/HF wave. Looking forward to the summer HF walkers! EDIT: Just noticed that the blades on mine are a little bent (my first time owning this piece, I know...), does anyone know how to straighten these? Hot water perhaps? If you can't just bend them back into shape with your hands (from my experience, doing that should be enough), try leaving them under something moderately heavy like a dictionary. Large weapons like that have a nasty tendency to arrive bent (largely because after being molded the parts are deposited into a large bin while still warm, so the ones at the bottom can get bent out of shape). Dorek Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 So they uploaded the episode to HF.com, as announced by Faber (the British site, obviously, and some nice concept art on Faber's blog). I'm glad they're actually keeping track of the number of episodes they have. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Shakar, I think the Queen is already using the XT4 torso in duplicate. In that case, will you try to make a chibi version of the Kaiju Queen? Quote
Shakar Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Actually, I realized my MOC (which I just posted) might be not so small compared to the Queen. Mine uses two XT4 torsos as well (connected by Stormer XL double C bones instead). My MOC's size is fine (as big as a mid size figure), but it's the Queen who looks small now.. Quote
xxlrocka Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Me and Mephek was looking at products on the new Hero Factory site and if you look at Evo Titan Machine (still not calling it a XL)on 360, you can see that there is a White Jumper. We already know that there is not going to be one but I just like to show this little thing me and Mephek found. But from seeing this, I do like to see a white jumper. Yeah, noticed that thing a week ago. I'm surprised nobody else bothered mentioning it until now, actually! Quote

coolcab1 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Invasion From Below Polybag! http://toabanshee.tu...age/76053207141 I wonder how you can get that? It looks pretty cool. Quote
bacem Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I wonder how you can get that? It looks pretty cool. probably the same as before. while the polybag still available, you can get it for free if you buy a hero factory set, either from S@H or lego store. Quote

DraikNova Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) It may not be a recolor, but it seems pretty nice, all things considered. I would still have preferred a white, blue or black-bodied Jumper or a Stringer fig, though. Edited February 9, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
Kalhiki Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Yay! Breez gets her own little humanoid mech. I was going to build one myself, but this saves me the trouble. Though I may still build a mech considering this is essentially Rocka's Climber Machine. Hope I can get my hands on a couple of these. I wonder how they'll be released. If it's anything like the black brain poly, it should be pretty easy. Seems like a cheap way to get some IFB parts like the seat. Quote
Shakar Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Cute! Finally the CCBS is being properly used for polybags, unlike in the past ones, which were just a bunch of weapons or a one piece gimmick (like the black Brain). I guess this might definitely crush the last hopes we had for a Nex or Stringer minifig..though the fact this one got revealed so early might mean we're getting another polybag later in the year. I guess this might definitely crush the last hopes we had for a Nex or Stringer minifig..though the fact this one got revealed so early might mean we're getting another polybag later in the year. I wouldn't say it "crushes the last hopes". This type of polybag set pretty much never contains exclusive parts, since they're not widely distributed. But there might be something more akin to the black brain set, with possible recolors, as a future LEGO shop gift with purchase. Even so, I definitely do not expect to see new molds in any set that is not available as a standard retail set. So if Nex and Stringer do show up in a GWP-type set, they will have to use recolors of other helmets. And I agree, it's GREAT to see a polybag that contains an actual constraction figure, rather than just accessories. There are some flaws to this set, mostly due to price constraints, like the lack of controls. But it's still the first impulse-size constraction set since BIONICLE to contain a constraction figure, and that's a definite plus. Sadly, I can't read the piece count except for the last number (1). I can count at least 26 parts in the picture for certain. If the piece on the back is one of these instead of a shell, that means there are at least 28 parts, counting the two pins that would be needed to attach it, but that still leaves three parts unaccounted for. Maybe there's a minifig weapon attached to the back somehow. I guess we won't know for sure unless someone can obtain and review this set. Quote
ShadowWolfHount Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Invasion From Below Polybag! http://toabanshee.tu...age/76053207141 Okay I like that Breez get a small mech but the thing is that I really don't like that mech because the hands are too big and i don't get why a mech need hands to hold two sword, while the others don't have hands, the legs i think they should have of used 2 really small leg/arm bone for both legs and the cockpit i do think they should have added this Windscreen. Some of the other Machines (specifically, Evo XL Machine and Stormer Freeze Machine) do have hands, even if they don't use the regular HF fist piece. I think the standard fist piece is appropriate for a machine this size, especially when it has weapons like these swords that might look a bit funny on a regular Y-joint. Quote
Cirkit Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) The little Breez polybag is adorkable. Yes. I said adorkable. As others have said I like that it's not just accessories, but in fact an actual build. It's a cute little thing, though I do wish it had some kind of cockpit, or maybe give the arms/legs a little length and cladding. Still, it isn't bad for a build this size. Shame it couldn't be a recolor of a character to resemble another. Nex, Stringer, hell, recolor Bulk and do a Thresher figure. Make that blue guy we only ever saw once in the cockpit of that Drop Ship set. Anything. Actually, thinking about it, the Drop Ship set could be re-released in the new minifig-scale. Wouldn't be that hard to imagine, actually... How cool would that be? :-D Edited February 9, 2014 by Cirkit Quote

So if Nex and Stringer do show up in a GWP-type set, they will have to use recolors of other helmets. That's indeed what I'm hoping for: of course they won't make new molds for polybags but they might use recolours. It helps that, at this smaller scale, the helmets look more generic. If I had to choose which helmets should be used, I'd give Nex Breez's helmet and Stringer Stormer's or Surge's. They did the same thing with the 2007 Bionicle minifigs (I just checked them on BL, boy what a mess they did with Nuparu and Takadox..).And, something, I fully realize that, completely crazy I thought of a while ago..how likely would it be for Nex and Stringer to be included in October's CMF Series 12? Would that be impossible since the CMFs are made in China (some issue with molds? I don't know)? Quote
VBBN Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 It's certainly an interesting thought, though my guess is that they stick to strictly standard minifigures; If they did other themes we would likely have seen friends "minidolls" or other such things being thrown in to the mix. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 It seems quite unlikely to me, seeing as HF minifigs are quite different from normal ones, and LEGO has no real reason to make them (even promoting HF through them wouldn't work, seeing as there's no place to make the connection with HF), rather than completely new characters. Well with Evo Titan Mach and Stormer Freeze Mach they have it so they can grab the big beast and with this small mach I mainly think it just pick up big crates because I don't think it will grab a jumper because I don't think there will be one by it self. Ya, I do like to see this have a recolor but i don't think it will be Nex because He's Dead and Thresher have retired. Anyway I think they should be Merrick Fortis or a different Hero like one that was in Hero Factory FM. Quote
