The little Breez polybag is adorkable. Yes. I said adorkable.

As others have said I like that it's not just accessories, but in fact an actual build. It's a cute little thing, though I do wish it had some kind of cockpit, or maybe give the arms/legs a little length and cladding. Still, it isn't bad for a build this size. Shame it couldn't be a recolor of a character to resemble another. Nex, Stringer, hell, recolor Bulk and do a Thresher figure. Make that blue guy we only ever saw once in the cockpit of that Drop Ship set. Anything.

Actually, thinking about it, the Drop Ship set could be re-released in the new minifig-scale. Wouldn't be that hard to imagine, actually... How cool would that be? :-D

The Drop Ship set actually isn't terribly out-of-scale with the HF mini-robots, since in the show Hero-Craft like it have a much larger capacity (often large enough to carry a full team of heroes). So you could probably adapt the Drop Ship set to the mini-heroes if you redesigned the interior of the cockpit.

Still, scaling things up or down is always fun, so it'd be an interesting challenge to try making a down-scaled Drop Ship.

It seems quite unlikely to me, seeing as HF minifigs are quite different from normal ones, and LEGO has no real reason to make them (even promoting HF through them wouldn't work, seeing as there's no place to make the connection with HF), rather than completely new characters.

Well, a HF series could be interesting, but you're right, it's too different to throw in with a regular CMF series. To date, all collectible minifigures have been based on the standard minifigure design, even if some will substitute other parts for the hands, arms, or legs. There hasn't even been a skeleton of any kind in the CMFs, and skeletons are the most traditional specialized minifigure design there is!

Ya, I do like to see this have a recolor but i don't think it will be Nex because He's Dead and Thresher have retired. Anyway I think they should be Merrick Fortis or a different Hero like one that was in Hero Factory FM.

Am I the only one who thinks it's cool to have Breez in another set? The Breez minifigure only appears in two sets — Flyer Beast and Breez Flea Machine. So while she does already get a machine of her own, she, Bulk, and Surge really got the short straw when it came to set appearances. And since she's the only female character in the team and perhaps the most important character in this year's TV special, I think that's extremely regrettable.

You keep talking about how Nex and Stringer died in the books. That never happened. I do not believe there exists any evidence in any of the books that any of the heroes of Alpha 1 Team have died, unless you can direct me to a chapter number, or better yet, a page number.

Thresher is an interesting minor character, and one who could be created with existing molds since traditionally he has the same helmet as Bulk. But I don't think I'd want to see a recolor wasted on a character as minor as him when there are still heroes like Nex and Stringer who have not appeared in sets.

I'll admit, it is nice seeing Breez again, and in a humanoid-battle-suit, but I do wish Nex and Stringer had appeared instead.

The likeliness that Thresher would ever be featured as a set is incredibly low, Merrick too for that matter.

I still think the limbs need cladding, even if it is a free polybag set.

I hadn't thought of that. If I had the Drop Ship, I'd see about making the appropriate adjustments.

I wonder how a smaller Drop Ship would look? Hmm. My mind is stirring with creative possibilities.. I just need to get my hands on some of these "Invasion from Below" sets and make magic with the parts!

Oh me and my friend was talking about that before and I don't care about that anymore, I think Nex died because of XT4.

According to the "Face Off!" guidebook written by Greg Farshtey and published by Scholastic, Nex managed to defeat XT4 and return him to villain containment without an issue. Of course, not everything in the "Face Off!" guidebook meshes perfectly with the chapter books, but I don't think something as major as a character death would differ between media.

You know what would be cool? HF Collectible Mini-robots. It shouldn't be part of the CMF series, though.

you mean stand-alone series like the lego movie or simpsons? as we are now, highly unlikely.

Yeah, he's not dead. I suggest you check out HS01 every once in a while.

I didn't know about that book, unless I did but never have the time to buy it and just forgot about it

Oh I didn't see that the last time I checked.

I agree with you plus it maybe just recolors and the Heroes and Jumpers but I do like to see the Helmet and Armor recolor into something else one day

Since they could really only go with existing Heroes for the polybag, I think Breez is a good choice, since she doesn't have a winter vehicle of her own. It's a pretty cute set, and I hope it's as widespread as last year's Brain promotion.

Well I do like to see a different hero in the polybag with a recolor Furno helmet or a recolor jumper, but it is good that we get to see Breez again and hey at less we are not going to get another hero for a 5th time and you got to be crazy if you think I am talking about Evo. Well, unlike the Brains, a recolored Hero would require a bit of explanation somewhere (either for who the Hero is or why an existing Hero is a different color), and since this likely isn't going to be given any story context, it's easier to go with a Hero they have.

In the IFB there was backup coming in so there your reason why and what about the guy from that dropship set or Merrick Fortis or again Heroes that was in the Hero Factory FM. Or have a jumper with a recolor like this white one I found on there website.

Didn't someone in the Chima topic mention about a new HF 2014 picture from the Toy Fair? How come it's not been linked yet?

Here you go. It's not great, but it shows the sets from a different angle than the previous pics we've seen.

I would say the only new thing (to me, at least) is that Crystal Beast's torso isn't printed, he just reuses Queen Beast's chest armour. Whilst I was looking forward to that part, that chest does make him look more imposing, not to mention it's a cheaper way to get it.

And, forgot to say, I'm pretty sure that in the movie Flea Machine had a printed shell on its body, but I don't see it anywhere here.. I hope it didn't get cut for the final set, that would make Breez the only Hero without her personalized shell.

Crystal Beast looks slightly more imposing. Why it's head spike is lacking is beyond me, but that may be for the same reason that Breez's Anchor Machine doesn't have a printed shell (stolen, maybe? I can't see any space for the printed shell to be, though). Speaking of which, it's nice to see that the Anchor Machine actually has a rope attached to the anchor. Also, I hadn't yet realized that Bulk's Driller had an orange drill.

The packaging seems quite nice, and Tunneler Beast is remarkably enough the scariest-looking (the pose on the main portion of the bag is somewhat menacing, and the art itself makes it look like a malformed scorpion creature). Strange to see that the Combat Mech has a box as well.

Well of this better picture of the summer sets, I have to say that my thoughts about them are mostly still the same and I said mostly because I think Bulk Drill Machine and all the beast still looks amazing but I still hate Surge Machine (I mean look at it, look at the legs).

For some reason, I love tunneller beast's eyes. It looks like a solid set overall, too.

Bit gutted that crystal beast's torso isn't trans blue as well, but, what ya gonna do?

Still not feeling surge's machine,

but the orange drill on bulk's tempts me...

The possible uses for the translucent Crystal Beast headpiece are quite few. Now only if those were non-printed...something to hope for at Pick-A-Brick, maybe?

I really like Surge's machine for some reason, maybe because it's just so atypical from the other mechs (which is, of course, why I'm sure a lot of people dislike it as well). I love that it's called a "combat" machine, because it seems like the furthest mech from actually having any combat capabilities.

I share the love for Surge's and Bulk's walkers, and I also dig Breez' mech. Which actually surprises me, because usually I like bipedal mechs far more, but the one from the Winter wave don't really appeal to me in for various reasons.

Crystal Beast also keeps growing on me, even though its hands look kinda wonky.

I like Surge's mech in concept, and I think people may be judging it a bit too harshly considering how few pics we've seen of it and how badly it's posed in those pics. With that said, I agree, it has some flaws that are quite clear in those pics, most notably how front-heavy it is without the flyer portion attached.

Hooray for more angles! Anywho.

I think Surge's mech would look better if all the legs were closer to the body. That's how it was in the show, and it looked much nicer. Spread out like that just shows how spindly the legs are.

Bulk's Drilling Machine is shaping up to be pretty nice. Wasn't quite sure how I felt about it, but it's looking pretty good.

The Flea Machine appears to have a spindle and thread. So that's cool.

Also, does anyone else hope the cocoons are a solid plastic/rubber blend? With the bottom being solid and the colored leaf sections being rubbery? Just seems like it'd be sturdier that way.

I'm pretty sure from the pictures that that's exactly what the cocoons are like. That way, like the Brains, the Technic connection on them can be firm and secure.
