Kalhiki Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I don't care if we get another evo, I'm just happy we didn't get another rocka. But now that Evo's the new Rocka, I'd prefer someone else. A new polybag is nice to hear, but like other's have said... Evo... Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Here. The walker polybag seems exciting, I hope we'll get to see it soon ! Oh, whoops. Lime, not yellow. Yeah, that's the one. Thanks for correcting me! -Sci Quote
Leewan Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Oh, so this is nothing new ? I'm kinda disappointed, I (and others too, I suppose) thought you were talking about a second polybag including Evo, the yellow Hero. Well, it's still nice to have at least one polybag, but I really was hoping for a second one... Quote
coolcab1 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Oh, whoops. Lime, not yellow. Yeah, that's the one. Thanks for correcting me! -Sci Damn, I wanted a evo min-walker thing well, too bad. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) I rather have a chance at a Stringer/other recolor polybag than another Evo, to be honest. May I ask why you want Evo to get another set, coolcab? If you want a walker for Evo, then there's the Evo Walker set. EDIT: Does anyone know how the heroes get their machines to walk? They have those hand-held controllers for their arms and arm weapons, but they seem to have no way to move the mech's legs. Edited February 15, 2014 by DraikNova Quote

Logan McOwen Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) Don't mean to blow my own whistle, but I just designed some of my own beasts today in my flu-ridden state. Would like to have seen a wider variety of beast designs in the IFB toon tbh. Neural bridge. Duh. Not even that. It's probably just a some sort of connection between the Hero and the Battle Machine... Y'know, like controlling a drone with your phone over Bluetooth. Edited February 15, 2014 by LewiMOC Quote

The whole concept of robots piloting robots is silly, don't think about it too hard :v Quote
Logan McOwen Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 The whole concept of robots piloting robots is silly, don't think about it too hard :v Yeah. Hero Factory is literally about a robot who used robots to build a factory in which robots build robots who fight robots and sometimes drive robots. :3c Quote

Aanchir Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I've just realised... Once 2014's done with and we're all done MOCing things for the IFB theme... All the beast parts and Minifigs will be kinda redundant? I dunno, it just seems that the brains etc. from last year have gone that way for me, so I'm worried that my IFB parts will go the same way. That could just be me being a dumbo but eh I dunno about the beast heads (haven't had a chance to build with them and see what they can be useful for other than heads), but I think there are loads of ways to use the minifigures outside the Invasion from Below storyline, as long as you continue to build at that smaller scale. They're plain enough to serve as generic hero frames rather than having a whole lot of mission-specific gear. I'm still hoping to build an Assembly Tower that's compatible with the minifigures, and as far as battle machines are concerned, it should be no harder to design new hero battle machines for the existing heroes than it was to design new hero upgrades using existing helmets. Kalhiki Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Well, I can reinforce confirmation that the sets are available in the US. Between the Lego store and Walmart, all sets were available except for Evo Walker, Stormer Freeze Machine, and Jaw Beast. Quote
Mesonak Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Just visited my Walmart in southern Mississippi and picked up Furno Jet Machine and Splitter Beast. They also had Evo XL Machine, but I decided to pass on him for now. If anybody out there cares about my thoughts I'll probably post them shortly once I actually build them and such. Quote

Strange that some would be available before others. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Well, I can reinforce confirmation that the sets are available in the US. Between the Lego store and Walmart, all sets were available except for Evo Walker, Stormer Freeze Machine, and Jaw Beast. I'll second that lineup. All of them besides Splitter Beast are $14.99 (the former is $19.99). Also I'd like to direct you all to this Toy Fair press release. Scrolling down to the HERO Factory section reveals that the line is between the $9.99-$34.99 range, meaning that the Queen Beast set has been confirmed to be $34.99 in the US. That is probably the maximum I'd pay for it. Good thing that the local Fred Meyer's has HF sales frequently. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 So, turns out the Netherlands is getting HF in march. That's right, the US was supposed to be the only place where the release was going to be delayed and it's still getting the sets earlier than the Netherlands. I can go to Germany, sure, but it still makes no sense (and I think we need an "UNIKITTY SMASH" emoticon, incidentally). Oh well, time to get to work on my Claw Beast MOC. This time, no therizinosaurs shall be present to upstage Deinocheirus Mirificus. Quote
exxtrooper Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 ^The 2014 HF sets are also set for March release in Nordic countries, which is weird considering how near we are Denmark. Does anyone know when we can expect photo coverage of the Toy fair today? Quote

bacem Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 ok, so it sems on evo walkers set, the printed shell is silver, but on the packaging art it's warm gold. the way they pose surge & rocka combat machine is... interesting, i guess? and i still don't understand why they decide to give the combat machine a box, when it clearly has fewer piece than evo xl machine which use bag. Quote
VBBN Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 ...That combat machine posing YOU HAD ONE JOB But nothing really to add here, though was I the only one who got excited at first when I looked at that picture of Queen Beast because I thought Furno was Nex? (The camera quality makes the red look orange) My likely pickups; -Tunneler Beast -Crystal Beast Eh. other than that theres nothing incredibly useful parts wise for my uses. Might focus on Chima for parts, most of my funds will be going to Transformers this year it seems Quote
Shakar Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) I would wait for better pictures, these are pretty terrible. You can't tell Surge's and Bulk's eyes colours or other details.. I wanted to take a close look at the Overlord's face, but it's an incomprehensible purple and black mess. Then there's the terrible posing as usual, including stuff like Bulk taking a nap in the Crystal Beast set and the Queen having her chest armour attached upside down (it's like, the third time they make the same mistake with that piece). The green cocoon pieces look a lot more drab for some reason, though that might be the picture quality at fault. EDIT: https://twitter.com/search?q=%23BZPToyFair&f=realtime BZP's been tweeting some preview pics. At least Bulk's standing in their CB set photo. Edited February 16, 2014 by Shakar Quote
Bfahome Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Dang, I was hoping Tunneler had the full pod on his back instead of just one "leaf". Oh well, I'll still probably get him. Hoping it's GitD. Also warming up to the Rocka Crawler, and still liking Flea Machine. Quote
WARHEAD Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The Tunneler and Jaw beasts are the best sets this year, IMHO. Totally will be getting multiples of them. Quote
