Hey everybody,

Before i start, i apologize if there'd been a topic opened and discussed about this but since i am not great with forum usage and i can't seem to find a search option within the forum structure i felt like i had to create a new topic.

I've been following this forum since i got out of my "dark ages" a year ago, started with technic 9391 tracked crane set. Buying almost any LEGO set whenever i find them cheap to increase my collection.

Long story short, I am looking forward to understand the method to give a vehicle all wheel drive capacity with one XL motor for drive while managing to apply sterring with an M motor. I've been doing some researches but can't seem to find a simple solution (preferably some sort of instructional source) for this. Every other solution i've seen either is too complicated or contains part i don't have. Sadly, i can't shop online from LEGO and ordering from European seller through BL gets to be rather expensive due to international shipping.

To give anyone who'd help me out on this an idea of my inventory, here's links for the sets and seperate parts i have;

http://rebrickable.c...rid&src=myparts

http://rebrickable.c...s?fmt=html&sl=2

If i didn't give enough info, let me know.

Thanks ! :classic:

FYI those links are specific to the logged in user - see the "myparts" bit in the URL? That will be different for everyone :) You can show the sets you have by linking your profile page instead.

Thanks for the positive feed-back everyone!

Sorry for the links not working, instead i am listing screencaps of what links contained;

Technic sets that i have;

Specific pieces i bought;

Basicly, i have around 1250 technic theme pieces and double more of system pieces (not that it helps a lot). Due to low quantity of pieces and various rather expensive pieces that come out of bigger/biggest sets i try to make my models small to mid scales. Biggest moc i've made was a bit smaller that the race truck, and it failed. So i'm trying to keep them smaller, which brings the bigger problem of durability of the creation and seating the battery box that i have :(

Welcome to the forum!

Your web links aren't working. Do you have any of the specialized front hubs? Maybe from sets 8070 or 42000?

Sadly, i don't have specialized front hubs.

Check out Madoca's excellent SUV Mk2, it features AWD with 2 x XL for drive and 1 x Servo for steering.

Edit: here you have pictorial instructions: https://plus.google....727481712223793

I am aware of his recent moc and loving it. Just, most of the essential pieces he's using with it i don't have. I might buy specialized pieces but i'm still trying to find a solution before a possible purchase.

Thank you all for your friendly and constructive attitude.

Will you be able to use parts from the sets? Also, it may be very difficult using 4L u-joints in a studless model, they don't align very well with studded elements. However, you do have just enough for 4WD and 4WS, if you are planning on using 4-link live axles or independent. Also, what are the largest wheels you have, and do you have diffs?

I listed the sets i own to give an idea of what kind of parts i have. I don't display them on my shelves anymore. So yeah i use the parts of those sets.

I have 2 sets of wheels, One is the 56x26 baloon tyres from 9392, the second is 56x28 tyres from 8041.

I find the baloon tyres to be very weak to carry the weight of PF elements compared to the second set of tires. So i usually build my moc "prototypes" on those.

you can use a rear live axle and then make a front steering using the u-joints

:thumbup:

Can you describe me of this a bit further, or give me a visual example?

thanks all
