CM4Sci Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I feel like the Juniors thread is dead. Juniors TMNT set in a better quality. -Sci Quote
Kintobor Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 If the sets look good, I may pick some up just for the pieces. This lair sounds very interesting, but considering I already own last years, it'd mainly be for the parts to create a more accurate version from the show, which is something I'd really love to do. BlueberryWaffles Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I didn't really care for last years (it's the only set i didn't get) but I think I might get this one. And the Juniors lair is adorable. Quote
deskp Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Movie designs. Looks great, hope lego do them justice. Edited January 28, 2014 by deskp Quote
just2good Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 I don't like the looks, but I guess it's good for variations on the minifigures. I'm REALLY curious to see how they pull these off. Quote
BrickG Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Those designs aren't nearly as bad as I could imagine from Micheal Bay. But I bet the story still sucks :P. Still, I'll probably get the sets just for the minifigures. Quote
deskp Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Those designs aren't nearly as bad as I could imagine from Micheal Bay. But I bet the story still sucks :P. I just want a fun mindless cool action movie. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the lego figures for it. I havent got any tmnt lego yet, but i might collect the movie figures if they are done well. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Are those loincloths? I'm not sure how well loincloths ever work on minifigures. Or in real life, for that matter. Quote
Gooker1 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Just make a 90 minute animated flick by the Nick guys doing the show now. Loved the original, and love this new run too!! Quote
deskp Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Are those loincloths? I'm not sure how well loincloths ever work on minifigures. Or in real life, for that matter. Well that one has a sweatshirt tied around his waist. Quote
refriedbeans Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I hope this movie doesn't kill the series... Quote
KingPixels Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 More shots of the movie costumes, plus Shredder: https://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/notyetamovie/news/?a=93587 Are those loincloths? I'm not sure how well loincloths ever work on minifigures. Or in real life, for that matter. My money is on leg printing. Those are... bad... -Sci I actually really like them. They're modernised, and they look badass and tactical. I loathe the '87 show though, so that could explain it. Quote
BrickG Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Oh geeze they made Shredder look like one of them horrible Transformers from his movies... Quote
Hrafnblod Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 ...I dunno how I feel about any of that. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Eh? I mean the turtles look okay at best but... really? I understand some reason to differentiate them, but I'm not digging most of the designs. Mikey in surfer attire? Oh god, I can already hear my ears bleeding. Raphael in samurai armour? But they're ninjas! Shredder looks okay, I'll let him pass for now since he does look kind of cool, and and I actually don't mind Donatello: I think he looks pretty good actually with the googles and what not, but the other turtles I'm just sort of confused with. Why the reed armour on Leo if this is supposed to be modern? I'm okay with the loincloth, but it's something that they're most likely going to fool around with, Chekov's Loincloth, if you will. Oh well, if the sets are decent, I'll pick one up just for parts. Not looking forward too much on the figures, but more Willaim Fichtner minifigs are fine by me. Kaijumeister Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I'm actually loving the new designs, they're fresh and highlight each Turtle's unique traits! Will be interesting to see if their minifigs have newly moulded heads.. Shredder looks deadly, really liking it. Quote
Colossus Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Dear Gods! Once seen it cannot be unseen! That's true! Now how do I explain to the boss that I just sprayed a mouthful of coffee on my keyboard? Having said that, I really dig the ACTUAL designs they went with for the movie. Raph has got to be the most badass I've seen him yet. As far as Shredder is concerned, I like the rusty, no frills, no polished chrome visual. Quote
Rinzler Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Juniors Set: yet another Raphael minifigure, I can't see the villain on the side though, overall it looks good Movie Designs: I frickin' love 'em Quote

Will be interesting to see if their minifigs have newly moulded heads.. Shredder looks deadly, really liking it. Yeah, the more I look at them the less atrocious they seem. I'm pretty sure for general audience purposes the color-coding was change enough (they all had red knee/elbow/mask wraps in the original art), but it's not -so- bad giving them accessories for their 'traits.' Donny does look kinda neat with the tech vibe, not big on Mike though. I will say, Shredder at least doesn't look any worse than the whole Super-Shredder bit from the sequel to the original movie. just2good Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Juniors Set: yet another Raphael minifigure, I can't see the villain on the side though, overall it looks good It comes with Leo and a Footsoldier. Raph is just a stand in. Quote
Faefrost Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Not crazy about the "dew rag" look on Raph. Granted I think the Minifigs will be more simply recolors of what we have with these prints. But I'm just not feeling the love of these new designs. They lack a certain element of charm or charisma that the turtles have always had. Oh well hopefully it looks better in the flesh and the brick. Quote
Rinzler Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 It comes with Leo and a Footsoldier. Raph is just a stand in. If that's true, it may be a referance to the original comics where all four wore red masks Quote
Hrafnblod Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 If that's true, it may be a referance to the original comics where all four wore red masks More likely just part of the prelim-ness of the picture. I don't think they'd throw in a reference to the comics that would confuse the youngest members of their target audience with regards to turtle identification. Quote
SMC Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Do you know what face leo has in the juniors set Quote
