Thelegomaster Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Wha!?!?!?!? This is awesome! I've never seen a four armed minifig before. This is a must buy for me. The set looks clean and detailed. This next wave of TMNT sets look much better then last year's. I want this now! *cough, cough* Garmadon and Kuzo EDIT:Ah,Ninja'd Edited February 17, 2014 by Thelegomaster Quote

Kintobor Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 http://www.toysrus.c...rentPage=search New set Oh, this looks cool! Just as a standalone set, the lair looks great! I'm just worried about it's price at this point, since the only set that I really need is the Karai Motorcycle Chase. But, I may pick this one up just to get the Shredder Variant, since it does look a bit better than the dark red one. Also, if I do get it, Karai's getting a little stool or something. As for the movie sets, not all that sold on the truck. What I want to see is that lair! Quote
djmangunz Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Comic Book Movie had a quick blurb about the movie sets: LEGO My Turtles There are three LEGO sets that will be released: the first is the Turtles' truck, for $39.99; the second was a battle set for $69.99, featuring a female villain with a stripe of red hair, and Megan Fox's April O'Neil; and a third, a giant underground lair retailing for $99.99 and containing Splinter, Shredder, and more. None of the sets had box art or specific names as of yet. The Secret Of The Ooze The truck set had LEGO ooze, though, that can drop out of the back. So in case you were wondering whether the classic piece of the Ninja Turtles' origin would be left out of the movie, worry no more. "Of course there's ooze! You've gotta have ooze," LEGO's rep told us. Read more at http://www.comicbook...ZtCbcXzgUffM.99 The link also shows the Playmates version of the movie figures if you want to get a good idea of the horror that is coming. And FBTB's excellent coverage continues with pics of the Nick show. http://www.fbtb.net/...-ninja-turtles/ From Ace; A new year, a new crop of LEGO TMNT sets and they were awesome. Even the Michael Bay turtles looked kinda fun if you ignored everything you know and love about the ninja turtles. Before you click through, unfortunately we weren’t able to take any pictures of that line. I can say though that they translate well into LEGO form. They are using different molds for the characters than the ones from the movie. Splinter is re-imagined from the current cartoon. Shredder looks more or less the same. The sets look kind of fun, but like I said, you’ll have to let go of any history you may have of the franchise. Even then, you still have to contend with Michael Bay and we all know what he’s done with Transformers. Me personally, I don’t think I’d get any of the Bay turtles. IMO I feel that this line is much less exciting than the first which makes sense due to the fact that they have already used a great deal of the best vehicles and locations up for the initial wave. I do really like the Sub and I will have to buy the Karai set just for her. But unless Casey shows up in a TRU exclusive that will be the end of my TMNT purchases for the summer wave. More movie set info from Collider: The movie-specific Ninja Turtles display featured three items. The Turtles’ lair set-up included minifigures of Leonardo riding a skateboard and Donatello donning what looked to be night vision goggles. The building was a two-story structure with a slide for easy ground floor access on one side. One small detail worth noting is a gold sword that slid underneath the ground floor, presumably for hiding. The second package came with two vehicles, a large van and a smaller truck. The truck belonged to the April, Leonardo and Raphael minifigures and the van to two Foot Soldiers and a character that could possibly be Minae Noji who’s rumored to play Karai. That larger van opens up along the side, revealing an extensive laboratory including tiny bottle cap-like pieces representing the ooze. The final set included yet another vehicle, a green Humvee of sorts for Raphael and Michelangelo. We’ve also got a Foot Solider manning a security tower attached to a drive-thru gate. In between that gate and the Turtles is a fourth character trapped in a chair, possibly Will Arnett’s Vernon Fenwick, suggesting that the sequence of play is meant to be the turtles driving up to a Foot facility to rescue Vernon who’s trapped inside. Steph 104th Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) I was watching the Brick Shows coverage of the sub and the Lego rep was extremely careful not to let them film the movie sets are going to be very secretive until we have a trailer for the movie, sadely. Steph 104th Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I've been viewing images of the Movie based action figures and i established that this movie is going to leave the Animated Series to its own devices regarding the origin of the turtle it seems to be like the 2003 series; grown up experienced turtles. With the figures we now know what they look like, i have mixed emotions about clothed Turtles especially when they look like they've been dumpster diving. I like the idea of a diversity with the headbands with Raphs fitting over his entire head but from certain angles it looks a bit like a Mexican wrestler. Overall I'm excited for the movie and the Lego incarcerations. Quote
Samiens Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 My main issue with the movie design in general is that theyve made the undershell look like musculature... That and theyre just hideous. That's good though, cant really buy the cartoon and movie sets! Quote
ReZourceman Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH. They all look fantastic. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) They are all so good! I really love them, especially that new Turtle Lair. Edited February 18, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
Hrafnblod Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 The lair looks pretty cool. Now I kind of regret picking up the previous one, since I only needed it for Leo (and Splinter, I guess). Could've gotten him in the Karai bike and then picked up the better looking lair. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Damn.....just look at that lair!!!Definitely worth it's money!! Wish we had close ups on the figs but even from this picture they look cool especially Shredder!!! Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Wow. I'm very impressed with all those movie sets. That new lair is wonderful and vastly superior to last year's, and the new Turtle Van is also pretty good. I'm less sold on the truck set but that still looks like a good set, especially when you consider that it comes with Megan Fox as April and Karai as well. Hopefully the minifigures (when we get good pictures of those) will be equally impressive. Until then, all I can say is that I can't wait for the movie or for these sets, even if they do look likely to be quite expensive. Quote
just2good Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 I really love the boxes. The lair set looks cool so far. Definitely my favorite. Turtle Van isn't too bad. Quote
deskp Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I really like the look at that van. so compact and cool, and looks right, compared to the mish mash that is the tv series van lego. Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 .....WOW. Why can't I make it bigger? I can't wait to see better pics. These looks AWESOME! -Sci Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Only three sets.....hello, additions to my collection later in the year ! I love the look of all three sets......ouch, that was my wallet ! These seem to have more detailing in them than the cartoon sets.......especially the Turtle's Lair. Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Dare I say it...? Everything is awesome! (Naughty boy/girl for taking that pic, but thanks all the same, haha.) Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 You can see the back of the van in this image - is there a reason why the boxes aren't white in the leaked pic above? -Sci Quote
just2good Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 You can see the back of the van in this image - is there a reason why the boxes aren't white in the leaked pic above? -Sci That's what's confusing. I'm guessing day two or three of the toy fair had the official boxes?? Quote
