Steph 104th Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I think it would be nice if we got an exclusive Michelangelo in this polybag. Oh'well Quote
Clone OPatra Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I think it would be nice if we got an exclusive Michelangelo in this polybag. Oh'well You really want an exclusive figure in a polybag, so that it's very hard to get? The way it is now, they're putting a variant that only comes in one larger set in the polybag, so that those lucky enough to find the poly don't have to buy the Shellraiser if they want the figure, while at least everybody else can still pretty easily get him. Legoman123 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 What do you guys think is inside the Turtle Van? Just seats or computers, a small lab etc. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 How does one acquire the mini Shellraiser with Michaelangelo? Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 What do you guys think is inside the Turtle Van? Just seats or computers, a small lab etc. Something simple like a few seats and maybe a small computer and perhaps a box of random parts (to represent spare parts for the Turtle Van) is probably all we're likely to get. After all, this Van isn't as expensive as the Shellraiser, so naturally there will be less room inside for anything substantial. I don't suppose it will matter too much though; a more substantial interior can probably be modded, and most children who get this set aren't likely to be too concerned by the interior anyway. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Are we talking about the classic Party Wagon? Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Are we talking about the classic Party Wagon? We're discussing the Turtle Van from the upcoming TMNT movie. Speaking of it, what minifigures actually come with this set? Quote
Cammo Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) ▲ the van includes Leo, Raph, a foot soldier and the guy played by Will Arnett. Not sure about the last one. Edited March 14, 2014 by Cammo Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 The guy played by Will Arnett is someone called Vernon Fenwick, who is supposedly a cameraman in the film. If that is indeed the case, I find this to be a very odd minifigure choice. After all, who is going to be interested in a cameraman in a film full of ninjas and mutants? Quote
BrickG Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 It's Micheal Bay. He takes the center of something awesome, then will make the focus NOT on that thing. Transformers? Lets focus on the awkward, prepetually-prepubescent Shia LaBeouf. Lets go through his annoying crappy story and focus on it more than anything else. Now with Ninja Turtles lets just make every single turtle a sidekick and focus on Casey Jones, April and maybe this Vernon guy. Yeah. Quote
gedren_y Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Let's get something straight. Michael Bay is not the Director, he is a Producer on this film. The Director is Jonathan Liebesman. This is also a Nickelodeon Movies production. From the images of the movie sets we know that Splinter will be short. That's because he is being played by Danny Woodburn. If you don't know him by name, look him up. You'll recognize him. Quote
Steph 104th Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 To build on what gredren_y mentioned Vernon was traditionally a cameraman but in the movie he will be a famous personality this is something Will Farrell told us himself. PLUS it was previously stated the the Turtle Van Takedown 79115 includes Leonardo this is not true it includes Michelangelo and Raphael from the turtles side plus Vernon and a foot soldier. for full details refer to this link-http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86936&st=175 it is post #199. B-Lister Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) I really don't know what to think about this license. So much has changed since I was first a fan. Though I still love the original comics and the 87 cartoon, not much past that early stuff interests me. I want to love the sets, and have found a few that I do like, but I guess if I ever want a classic Party Wagon, or Technodrome, I'll have to MOC it. Edited March 15, 2014 by B-Lister Quote

If you're interested, you should read the current IDW TMNT series. It incorporates elements from several incarnations into a fresh new story. As for the Party Wagon, the new Turtle Van isn't too far away from it in appearance. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Well, even the 87 toon is a departure from the original comics, which themselves are a parody of Frank Miller's Daredevil. The only true constant is change. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 ...Vernon was traditionally a cameraman but in the movie he will be a famous personality... A famous personality eh? Well, that's certainly more interesting than a cameraman could ever be. But I'll reserve full judgement of the character until the film and save full judgement of the minifigure until we get a good image of it. Quote

zipper778 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I just noticed Shredder's Lair has vanished from the TRU website. Not that it's news, but still. This next wave looks really good. And I really want that polybag. Quote

Steph 104th Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I think someone in the TRU technology department made an error and by the time they realised their mistake us AFOLS had gone ballistic already. Quote
Retrocity Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 How does one acquire the mini Shellraiser with Michaelangelo? I am curious about this as well. Does anybody know if this is a promotional item or will be in certain stores? Quote

Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 How does one acquire the mini Shellraiser with Michaelangelo? I suppose it would depend on where you are. From what I know of how polybags work over in USA, I would say it would likely show up in TRU or something along those lines. For the UK, we'd likely get it in a newspaper promotion (if at all). As for elsewhere, I honestly can't say as I'm no expert on the distribution of polybags. Quote
