samxsteal Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The Ninja Turtle movie was set to be released in August, but it has been pushed back to come out November/December this year. Which is bad news for the sets. this is fake Bay confrimed it was fake on his Official Twitter. Quote
Lazarus Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 except in NZ, which has everything up including Shredder's Lair Rescue. What I can find them anywhere over here. I will need to ring up toyworld and see what they say. Quote
montgocloud Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Though the movie looks pretty awful, the sets should be great fodder for making a display or a MOC of the grittier Mirage and recent IDW comics. The sets don't seem to have the weird mix of ridiculous spectacle and dark Turtles that the Bay movie does. Quote
Farn Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 On turtles.lego.com in Donnie's Lab there are alternative build instructions for the new set! Quote
Darkfox190 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 On turtles.lego.com in Donnie's Lab there are alternative build instructions for the new set! Oh man, not just alternate instructions, but some combo instructions too! Alternate for Shredder's Lair and the Turtle Sub, then combo for the Sub+T. Rawket and for the T. Rawket+Mutagen lab. They sure know how to get us to buy multiple sets... Quote
Fritzy Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'd love to see them but the site's awfully screwy right now. At least for me. Would someone be willing to take screen captures and/or provide links to the instructions if available? On another note, I stumbled upon two clean boxarts (with accompanying component shots) for the upcoming TMNT (or NT) movie wave. Have these already been circulated? Asking in case this is new. Quote

Fritzy Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 No jokes here. Might want to save the pictures in case they get taken down. Quote
TheBatstan Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 0_o nice find! The Turtles look...... questionable, but the 2 sets look promising. The price though...... $120 for the Lair in Canada!?!?? I'll wait for a sale. Quote

TheLegoDr Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So did they create a new mold for the movie turtles? It looks like it sits higher on them than the Nickelodeon figures do. It would be similar to how the movie is portrayed, but looks terrible in minifigure form. The printing looks good quality, but I don't love how those turtles look considering I grew up with the early 90s movies and 80s cartoon. I will never be able to change that. But I may pick up a set or two and sell off the figures..if anyone else wants them that is. Quote

Darth Lurtz Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Leo's new shell can accommodate the sword holder piece. Quote
Cammo Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I think only the shield is a new mold but the heads look the same, although Donatello has goggles on the prelim pictures. Idk how they could attach those to the existing heads. But the pics that just have surfaced look like the old ones. I really like that Van-set. Probably gonna Bricklink the other figures though. BTW is it an April Fools joke that 1/5 of the movie has to be reshooted for adjustments to the story and that it will be release this holiday season? Quote
Darth Lurtz Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Michael Bay has denied the rumor, but he has mislead people before. Quote
Farn Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I like the Van, it might be the only set I buy. The Snow Gateaway on the other hand is too... generic? There are two (awful) turtles, but it doesn't seem TNMT-y at all. A nice find none the less, those images! That site also has a page for the movie lair set, but with the wrong images, if they don't take it down they'll update them? http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/kids/toys/79117-lego-tmnt-turtle-lair/673419212199-item.html?ikwid=LEGO&ikwsec=Kids Quote

I didn't pay much attention to the Van set, but if you look closely at the truck set, all the Turtle heads seem to have those small holes for goggles/visors/whatever. Quote
Suspsy Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 This makes me sad. First off the Ninja Turtles seem to have superpowers now. They were basically just turtle people before. Now they're leaving imprints on bricks they land on and crash into vehicles like they're nothing. Then of course I've complained about it before, but the whitewashing. Why is shredder white? And they're ugly. Especially the lips. Don't give Ninja Turtles lips. :P How on Earth are they expected to speak if they don't have lips??? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I'm liking the look of the sets! I really don't like the look of leo and mike, but i love raph. The foot soldiers, april, karai, and vern look great. I hope we see the lair soon. Quote
montgocloud Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 There's definitely new moulds for the head and shells! To me, it seems that the shells are merely flipped upside down and the heads are made smaller to compensate. I could be wrong though... Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the pics. Just gonna deeplink them... Megan Fox has cheek bones... -Sci Edited April 2, 2014 by CM4S Quote
Clone OPatra Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Seeing these more finalized images is a major letdown. Besides for Karai and the footsoldiers (who look neat even if you dislike the direction being taken with them as footsoldiers), the minifigures are utterly gross. The turtles are freaky and awful, and Megan Fox gets the silly cheek bone treatment that has been plaguing minifigures recently. The vehicles still look nice, but those turtles are a major turn off. Quote
TheBrickPal Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Yay for April Fools Day leaks! I love the look of the sets. Olive green parts everywhere. However, I cannot get over those turtles. Sure, they're movie accurate, but they are so ugly. Seriously, they look like zombies. I'll stick to the 2012 series turtle minifigures, thank you. Quote
deskp Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I didn't pay much attention to the Van set, but if you look closely at the truck set, all the Turtle heads seem to have those small holes for goggles/visors/whatever. Thats so the purple turtle can connect those googgles we've seen in the lego movie. as seen in the prelims. To me, it seems that the shells are merely flipped upside down and the heads are made smaller to compensate. I could be wrong though... No, that would look way different, the neck connector on the tv series shells are ont he top, on these enw oens they are more like the middle of the shell. I think they made the shells way too high up on the ovie turtles, it does not fig the body structure of lego fig, it looks bad.. Quote
BFN Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Thats so the purple turtle can connect those googgles we've seen in the lego movie. as seen in the prelims. I know. I was responding to someone who said the heads looked the same as in previous sets. Quote
