yeah seeing as I already have all 4 TMNT, I just don't get it 6 old sets and 7 new ones so 13 sets for TMNT and one for x men. The TMNT set were not great at all and cant think what the 3 new 70+ sets will be and how they will sell all these sets when we know figs have a big part to pay and there will be so many repeats.

TMNT is popular. Probably just more marketable than the X-Men right now who just have a movie occasionally compared to the series and upcoming movies for TMNT.

but why so many big sets, even something like LOTR does not get that many big sets in a wave, surly a more AFOL oriented theme would sell more big sets. And repeated key minifigures has to be a problem. The TMNT theme did not make for great sets but did have great figs so I just don't understand surly some bigger superhero sets would work better and smaller TMNT sets.

Wow they are big sets, I can't understand why tmnt get so many big sets next year a superheroes get so many small ones, any ideas

I was wondering the same thing... where are our big superhero sets or dose TLG think they wont sell?

X-Men only have an occasional movie? Wolverine last year... Now another?? Plus superheroes have tons of movies, shows and comics all the time! No that's not an answer.

But no need to threadjack this, back to TMNT talk.... Sorry

That's a perfectly good answer.

The modern X-Men movies simply aren't great toy affairs. The Comics and toys don't rake in a huge sum. The current TOP -MARVEL- films seem to be the ones that Lego already does, Captain America, Thor and Avengers. Mixed in some Spiderman because it's got a cartoon... and you've got yourself a good soup :P.

X-Men on the other hand again, isn't in great toy shape. It doesn't have a TV show. It doesn't have any current movies that quite fit with the toy business as much. X-Men First Class and the upcoming one and the Wolverine movies aren't as big of toy sellers. X-Men doesn't have as much on it's plate right now and not as much is marketable. Notice how none of the recent X-Men movies have really made a lasting impression on toys in toy stores? It's still all Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Avengers and Batman and right now Superman. And arguably those ones are also aimed more at kids with the X-Men and Wolverine taking a much more mature tone.

The fact is at the moment X-Men just is not as marketable. At least not until a popular X-Men TV show comes out. And I'd say Days of Future Past isn't going to ignite a toy storm that sticks very long.

Meanwhile TMNT has one of the most popular kids show on TV right now (with both kids and adults). It has an upcoming Micheal Bay movie (as much as many of us hate his work it DOES get attention). It's got a lot more going for it at the moment.

Yeah but superheroes is more than just X-Men. Also I'm going to bring this up in the superheroes thread before we get too far off subject I don't like threadjacking and don't want to do it

OK so getting back on topic, a quick guess at the number of figures

79118 Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles: Set 4 $13 - 2

79119 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 5 $20 - 3

79120 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 6 $35 - 4

79115 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 1 $50 - 5

79121 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 7 $70 - 6

79116 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 2 $80 - 7

79117 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 3 $100 - 8

so around 35 figures and except for the smaller set each set will need to have a least 1 but more likely 2 wanted exclusives figures

does anyone have an idea on this or what so many big sets will be based on

Wow, a $100 TMNT set? :oh: Perhaps a Technodrome set isn't as unlikely as I thought...

Nothing but pricing? Come on I know the info is out there. Someone LEAK!

And how exactly do you know this if I may ask?

Keep in mind that the first TMNT wave was a winter wave and that this one will likely be a summer wave to tie in with the movie, so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get any specific info until next year. In fact, I'm surprised we already have as much info as we do. So unless you have hard evidence that there is indeed more info out there, please stop spamming the threat with leak demands.

Again, this is likely a summer wave, which is when TLG usually releases big sets, so comparing them with the winter wave of Superheroes sets isn't really fair.

Even if we don't get as many big Superheroes sets as TMNT ones, I can see why. There is just not that many iconic things to base sets on in Marvel/DC, whereas the turtles have lots of iconic turtle themed vehicles and stuff, most of which are fairly big. Sure, they can always make stuff up like the Deadpool-copter, but do we really want that? :sceptic: I for one am glad that most of the Superheroes sets have been pretty small so far since themes like this are mostly about the minifigs anyway. The fact that most of them include either Batman, Spider-Man, or Iron Man is a different story...

Because it's out there. There are pictures of the sets (at least preliminary) and some people have access. To think otherwise especially since we've got prices now is weird :P.

LEAK SOMEONE!

Well, when it comes to sets on upcoming movies, the sets usually are not shown- even in preliminary catalogs. The just list a name (usually "[movie name] set x") and a price. That's how it seems to be with this, and how it was with stuff like Iron Man 3 sets, Lone Ranger, ect.

The people you are referring to work for Lego, and they're not gonna risk their jobs just because someone on the internet is being impatient.

Yeah, that's another reason why I don't expect to see pictures anytime soon. Even the Lego Movie sets that are going to be released in winter have titles like this.

No. That's not so much a leak as it's been known for like a year and they've shown them off.

http://www.playmates...classic-figures

The Bebop and Rocksteady toys are part of the Classic Collections line based on the old series. They're coming out in November :P but the old Turtles are already out. So you cannot really use this to say anything because they always do Classic lines.

However, I'm not talking Classic Collection. I'm talking the 2014 NICKELODEON BASIC LINE. That list was leaked, and it had Bebop and Rocksteady.

Well, Werst has listed the seven TMNT sets with the Euro pricing...

79115 Teenage Mutant Ninja Tutles: Set 1 $50

79116 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 2 $80

79117 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 3 $100

79118 Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles: Set 4 $13

79119 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 5 $20

79120 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 6 $35

79121 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Set 7 $70

I'm guessing the first three will be the movie sets (79115-79117) and the other four are on the TV show. They're pretty expensive! That does mean there will be lots of new minifigures.

Wow! Lots of new stuff! I hope the $100 set is for the Nick show. Hoping for Casey Jones, Karai, Rat King...okay I want a lot of figures.

EDIT: somehow the quotes got all funky. Odd.

I don't know if this has been seen. Some footage and character art from TMNT season 2. shown off at one of the comic cons. It may give a pretty good idea of what new figs we might be geting. Baxter Fly, and others.

The classic character minifigs would be a dream come true for AFOL's. I don't watch the Nikelodeon tv show, and couldn't care less about the new stuff, really.

Hopefully the next wave here could change my mind with the movie themed sets.

I think the current molds with just a head printing with classic style white eyes would more than satisfy the old timers. The actual shape of the turtle minis is more than acceptable for pretty much any incarnation save possibly the worst of the live action movies.

Based on this weeks episode, I think we can now understand why we are getting a Batman Man-Bat set this wave, and can probably speculate that we will be seeing "Wingnut" in a set as well. They saw enough convergence between Chima, Super Heroes and TMNT that they can really make use of a bat wing piece of some sort. Probably in a smaller set that gives us a Turtle Glider or two.

And as embarrassed as I am to admit this, given my advanced age, you are probably doing yourself a disservice if you don't check out the new Nikolodean TMNT show. It really is astonishingly good.

Any reason you don't watch the new show? It's really good.

Show discussion elsewhere, guys, unless it affects the sets.

Personally, I enjoyed the first wave of sets (besides some price inflation compared to other lines) but as others have stated, TLG is really going to have to come up with something good to convince me to buy more when I've got all the turtles, Splinter, Shredder, and foot soldiers I need. And I don't know what characters would do that for me right now.

There's a bunch of stuff on my shopping list next year and as nostalgic as I am for the TMNT stuff, I've got what I need.

OK, without discussing the tv show, I guess I just prefer the classic DIC/Playmates cartoon art style. Of course that was an adaptation of the earlier comics style.

What would really win us more nostalgic types over is some old school characters and vehicles. I would really like to see the Neutrinos and their awsome dimension X custom cars. The Technodrome, and the Party Wagon.

Unfortunately, no recent news regarding 2014 TMNT sets have piqued my interest so far.
