just2good Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 @just2good, the footsoldiers in the big rig set does wear masks concealing their faces. It's jsut that their masks are shaped like A face. http://www.thehollyw...Footsoldier.jpg Thanks for the review. I really like the turtles with closed mouths! It's fun reviewing! I did not know about the masks- LEGO did a great job emulating them! Quote
Moon_Knight Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 If there is two shredders potentially in the movie as we have now seen oroku saki in the trailer then which shredder is this figure based off. It has no burnt face so i'd guess fitchner as the guy in the shadows in the trailer had a burnt face. I reckon fitchner wears the tech armour in the set, Oroku looks weak so maybe fitchner takes over the mantle of shredder at some point.I'd guess the Lego version is fitchner as he is white. Shame they cheaped out and like Loki gave him an existing head. Means he will only look good with the helmet. I don't think Lego even knows who THE Shredder is going to be in the movie and my guess is the whole Fichtner being the Shredder is just there to throw fans off. Just a guess though. Guess we won't know till it comes out. Quote
Steph 104th Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Maybe Flitchners character takes up the mantle of Shredder while Oroku Saki is injured Quote

Fritzy Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I can confirm for you that he has indeed appeared in the show in this form. I have the DVD sets, and if you like, I can confirm the exact episode in Season 1 when it took place. Quote

Fritzy Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Yep, that's correct. Done in the hand-drawn style. ...That reminds me! I need to pick up the new DVD! Edited July 2, 2014 by Fritzy Quote

just2good Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Alright! Well, next up is the Turtle Lair Invasion! I love this set for how fun it is! There's also some nice pieces, like the dark brown slides, and panels. Of course, having four exclusive minifigures is definitely a plus to this set. Quote
Steph 104th Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Thanks for the great review, the light blue bandanna looks awesome on the movie version. These sets are better than I first thought I actually really like the Turtles look, Leo looks the best. Quote
Revelation Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Thanks J2G for that great review your photos and video really make the movie sets more appealing then the prelims did! However due to budget and lack of serious interest in this theme I'll probably have to skip on them that been said I think these are a lot more appealing to general lego fans then the two waves of comic sets were. skelliesgang Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I'm really liking the movie turtle figs, hard to believe the 180 from my mostly negative initial reaction to them. It's a shame (or shrewd) that all 4 cannot be obtained in a single set. Oh well, off to bricklink I go... Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Here is a variant comic cover of TMNT, the turtles have white eyes and different expressions. These would be amazing as minifigures: Quote
Yooha Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I never liked turtles without pupils. Is that supposed to be some kind of goggles with white lens? Quote
vriverajr3 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I never liked turtles without pupils. Is that supposed to be some kind of goggles with white lens? It's not any goggles or lens. Any time you see the turtles eyes go white, it means they're in "serious" mode. I've always liked it and it lets viewers know a serious situation is going down. Me and my son would love to get serious white eye turtle figs someday. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Yeah, I think I prefer the white-eyed turtles just because it reminds me of the comics. I hope we'll get them someday. Quote
Lancethecat Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The first time I saw these new MIchael Bay turtles, I thought they looked repulsive, but after looking at your reviews, they've really warmed up to me. Sure, they may not look as 'clean' as the cartoon turtles, but I understand that they are supposed to emulate the CGI turtles in the new movie, which is supposed to be darker and grittier. Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) I was thinking there could be an exclusive at comic con for the movie, I saw a trailer featuring the young turtles, maybe we could get a young turtle as an exclusive at comic con. What other characters could we see being exclusive? Edited July 18, 2014 by amazingbricks Quote
Ezekiel2517 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) What other characters could we see being exclusive? Maybe a Whoopi Goldberg. Everybody would want that. Edited July 18, 2014 by Ezekiel2517 Quote
