elederberg Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 When do people think the next wave of sets will come out? I think the next wave will definitely have Casey Jones since both waves have had one set with a main character who isn't a mutant, April for the first wave and Karai for the second, like other people have stated, I would really like to see Tigerclaw, Slash, Razar, and Stockman Fly. SMC Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I don't watch the tv show just the ones from the 80s as a kid but I feel like I have all the turtles I need now and the sets have not been amazing so far although a Technodrome could change my mind but I cant see myself shelling out a lot of money on a d2c (pun intended) Quote
Manx Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 We'll definetly see another mutated being, I hpe Stockman this time ... Quote

It is extremely superior compared to the 80's / early 90's version. As someone who grew up on that series, I can honestly say this blows it out of the water, and it adds wonderful nods to the classic version. It's loads funnier, w/ great writing and voice acting. TheLegoDr Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ^This. I haven't paid attention to the new series. I only bought the sets to get the main figures out of nostalgia. I love animated shows as much as the next guy, but not necessarily a kids show. I don't see myself getting into it anytime soon (also since I don't have cable, kind of hard.) Quote
zipper778 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I kind of look at the Nick TMNT series as this age's Batman:TAS. It's a bit dark and gritty for younger viewers. My kids were watching them but a couple of episodes scared them and it's a bit violent too. For me as an adult though, the Nick series is fantastic. There's lots of comedy and lots of action. Throw that together with four ninja turtles and a very wise Splinter, and you get a very entertaining show. My only beef is that it can get a little gross and the beginning of Season 2 was too much "mutant of the week" for me. Otherwise the new show is well done. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Show discussion elsewhere, please. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a show made primarily for kids, but the place to talk about it isn't here. Quote
Jared Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 My only beef is that it can get a little gross and the beginning of Season 2 was too much "mutant of the week" for me. Otherwise the new show is well done. "Mike Gets Shellacne" comes to mind. *shudders* Must agree with you though, I'm liking the new series. Quote
Gooker1 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 That's great there are fans buying TMNT b/c of the old cartoon, but if more people watched the new versions, they would be more interested in them. Quote
BartSimpson Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 The cheapest set actually is one of my favorites out of the line lol Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 So I'm guessing we won't get any more sets in January because every other theme has a 2015 thread and this doesn't? Probably because we technically got two waves in summer, but I'll be very sad if we have to give up cartoon sets for Teenage Alien Warrior Hulks sets. Quote
Colossus Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I hope that the Nick sets don't get nixed for additional movie sets. While I think the Turtles lair and Turtles van set designs remained faithful to their source material, I enjoy the more whimsical style of the Nick sets. Quote

atreyu2112 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I am only interested in Nick sets... F that movie crap. What I am hoping for ... the Season 3 Turtle Van more than anything else (I posted pics of the toy prototype a few pages back), Casey Jones, Newtralizer, Slash & Tigerclaw. A Technodrome playset would be awesome too. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 YES to S3 van. Plus those figs too. Another thing I want from S3: Bebop and Rocksteady! Those two would be awesome! Also, I kind of want a classic cartoon set. They could do the van with all four classic turtles and classic April. Or give us a TMNT D2C and give us the old Technodrome! (I'm betting if we get a TMNT D2C it will be a classic cartoon set as D2Cs are adult-aimed) A Nick 'Drome could be done too I guess, maybe as a $100+ flagship set. Quote
DuckBricks Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Watch the Nick version. It is extremely superior compared to the 80's / early 90's version. As someone who grew up on that series, I can honestly say this blows it out of the water, and it adds wonderful nods to the classic version. It's loads funnier, w/ great writing and voice acting. Plus a special episode referencing the 80s show... ;) Quote
RodriskisLego Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 SPOILERS ABOUT TMNT S2 FINALE!!!!! Lately I've been thinking if the fact that Lego gave us a battle damaged Leo is anyway related to the fact that Leo got really hurt in the S2 finale... That would be cool. And I think that the next sets will have Casey Jones, Kraang Prime, Razar, Karai Snake thing :p and Slash. Quote
zipper778 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Assuming they make more sets. So far, there hasn't been any word at all about any new TMNT sets in 2015. I hope they make some new sets though (would LOVE a turtle mech set). Quote

atreyu2112 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'm thinking we will get more Nick show sets, there's plenty of new vehicles and characters at this point. That Turtle mech would be very cool. Quote
Steph 104th Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I think if we get sets they will be around April-June as the movie sets were released in August. Quote
Darth Punk Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Anyone have an opinion on the Tmnt junior set? Apparently my nephew has gone from loving superheroes to turtles and was thinking of getting the set for him. He just turned five and loves the batman juniors set I got him. I remember the original Tmnt but don't know anything about the new version. If the juniors isn't good what set would people recommend? Quote
Steph 104th Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I own both the Junior TMNT and Batman, the TMNT is smaller and was less, but if he like turltes go ahead, 2 vehciles Bad Guy on Good Guy, Leo doesn't have Leg Printing, so if he is a perfectionist of owns other turtles he might not be to fond of him, I would rather reccomend the 2 $12 sets we have received, more builds/play features, he gets 2 turtles and 3 Bad guys. Those 2 are a better choice for me and price wise a lot more for your money. Quote
Darth Punk Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Thank you for your reply. I was eyeing the bike escape set. And I do agree you seem to get a good amount from the two smaller sets. I'm mainly unsure about the small pieces and how easy they are for a five year old. I have some friends who have five yr old twins and while they have a fair amount of regular Lego sets they seemed to enjoy the junior sets because they were easier to build and take apart. Not sure if anyone else here have children who have played with both types of sets. Edited October 14, 2014 by Darth Punk Quote
