Laphroag Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I have a 3,5 year old nephew and I was wondering if it was time for him to swich from Duplo to Lego System. Are those Junior sets fitted for young builders like him? At least the smallest ones will be. I "tested" it on my oldest son (soon to be 4). Bought him the Spiderman set and he managed to build it with some help. I picked out the pieces for each step and he put them together. He ended up MODing it a bit, but that is what Lego is for. just2good Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Got the Fire Emergency set from TRU today. Eh, not too special of a set. I'd say go with the Police Station- it's the same as this but with most aspects (minifigures, pieces, and design) being better. Edited May 24, 2014 by just2good Quote
Fritzy Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Thanks for the review. Based on some of your points, it'd be more reasonable for the police set to be the same price. I think if this set got the same treatment as the castle set, it would've made for better value (cost and play). As is, I wonder how this will fare on the market against its closest counterpart, the LEGO City Starter Set. Were you able to find the Turtles Lair after all? Quote
just2good Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Were you able to find the Turtles Lair after all? Thanks for watching! I have the set in hand- review coming soon! And... here it is! I love this set! There's some great pieces (the olive greens and that awesome printed 2x2 subway sign tile in particular), and the build itself is a really nice addition to the TMNT line. I also like the choice of including the normal Leo in this set! Edited May 25, 2014 by just2good Quote
Fritzy Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Thanks for that. I'll probably wait to find this on sale like the Batman set. edit: S&H listings for the three new sets: http://shop.lego.com...Emergency-10671 http://shop.lego.com...rtle-Lair-10669 http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Knights-Castle-10676 Edited May 26, 2014 by Fritzy Quote
