Hobbes Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Didn't take too long, here's the first Cafe Corner MOC: (Click thumb for larger picture) From the pieces it looks like a MOC. Looks very lively. Maybe that's the way to go to for those who don't like the color discrepancies and bad parts: order from bricklink and build your own. There's enough pictures around for skilled builders to come up with something decent like this. And thanks to dunamis we know how the arch with the skis is made ;-) Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted March 23, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted March 23, 2007 Good to see that the Cafe Corner is such an inspiration for making MOCs. The presence of the Cafe Corner is certainly growing at Brickshelf. I especially like the details on the ground floor of this MOC. But I don't think it will be possible to open the windows on the top-level? Quote
Hobbes Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 But I don't think it will be possible to open the windows on the top-level? The second pic in the gallery shows they open inward ;-) While we're at it, here's one with interior: And another one: (Click pictures for galleries) Quote
Asuka Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Very nice, with a lovely color scheme too, although I would prefer if these windows would open in a more traditional way.... X-D Quote
dunamis Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Those are really nice. I figured it would not be long before we started seeing these. I wonder if it would be worthwhile to put the 2nd floor into LDD then you could order just the bricks to make it multi-story? I'm sure people will start putting in additional floors into LDD and they we will really start to see some customizations... Quote

That could provide a cheap way to get a true 6 story hotel! I noticed in the second cafe' corner with the intereior that he built his on a cross road. I was going to do that with mine, but could not find any in time before mine arrived. (I'm still builing mine. On the 3rd night now) now i wish i waited. Not sure if i want to take off all those tiles, and then take put them back on. (it took almost 2 hours alone to just do that! :-X ) Oh well. In time. Quote
Aredhel Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 This MOC is very nice! I wish I had the money to get this set too! It is just amazing!!! -Aredhel Quote
Holodoc Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I have found another very nice, well not MOC, but addition to the cafe corner. The builder (Andreas B Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I must say, this one is very impressive. The colors are much better, along with the mini-fig selection. -ZotS Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Boths MOC's are really nice! The amount of inspiration that Cafe Corner is giving out is outstanding. I really like the interior detail in there. *y* :-D Quote
Hobbes Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 More: (Click image for gallery) I think that's a scene many "dream of" and hope the adjacent sets that are supposed to follow the Cafe Corner will look like. The gray issue doesn't really bother me with this. It's noticable but it doesn't have an impact on the overall look I think... Quote
snefroe Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 you're right, the shades of grey even add more realism to it, IMO...i'm guessing we'll see entire streets of these soon... let's just hope we'll see some creativity in the MOCs... Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 The only thing I dont like about the Cafe Corner is the Hotel sign. Looks like some drugged painter did it. These MOCs are great and that white building beside the CC is very nicely done. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted March 28, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted March 28, 2007 Here are some buildings that would be worth putting in the same street as the Cafe Corner. The brickshelf gallery has a folder for each building AND they contains the MLCAD instructions for the buildings! Brickshelf Gallery Quote

zeki Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I love CafeCorner but it is quite expensive... Maybe sometime later (you can't get it in Slovenia yet) I like "Old Brick" Citys and streets so i hope one day... Quote

Khorne Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 [...]Update on this one: [...] That looks pretty cool. The only thing that looks a bit out of place is that 'S' on the left building. Too bad the roof on the middle building isn't bley, too. Very nice *y* .Liberation:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2393574 [..] I'm really diggin' that Sherman *wub* . Quote
alex54 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Freddie, your found is very nice! It would be nice to have some interior sets to arrange our CC... It seems that this lovely set has given some nices ideas! Quote
oo7 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Another update, This guy's on a roll! That looks pretty cool. The only thing that looks a bit out of place is that 'S' on the left building. Too bad the roof on the middle building isn't bley, too. Very nice *y* . The builder says "It has a modern design which plays with the architectural elements of the adjacent historical buildings." I don't like it either. :-/ Quote
rexcal Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I like voyagetom's idea to include a labour unions demonstration in the street. 1st of May's spirit here... Your nicely added details also bring life to the scene, holodoc. :-) Quote
Hinckley Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I only made slight modifications to mine: My Cafe Corner modifications Quote
