I love the diverse characterization you put into this, Sandy! I for one relished the chance to be able to play a character that differed a bit from Dyric Rone. Sadly, towards the end I had less and less time to commit to keeping up the characterization that was developed as strongly, but it was still a lot of fun for those first couple days.

I really enjoy C.A.T; Sandy you made a great work   in particular with all the different character, personally I love my character and I have the insane idea to made it my second character  or at least connect her to my character.

This is my second mafia and I see again I'm not for the mafia-games: involuntarily I don't say much and to this add the character which seemed to me a rather shy, not talkative  I really enjoy the player's interaction, I think I wil remember Scorpiox and my character would strangle you for your rude approach

Thanks again to Sandy for the great work and for all players which made this an experience to remember

Here's to adress some of the questions and feedback you have given:

I'm curious if this will change things in present day Heroica, knowing that the Town Watch knows about what happened?

I didn't plan it as far as that, since it was uncertain whether Geosmos would make it alive or not, but his report certainly did not make the Town Watch trust Heroica more. Especially Captain Lilbelly was always suspicious (and envious) of Heroica. Captain Patricia has given them more of a chance, even though the heroes have disappointed her almost every time.

But Sandy, there's no way Sir Rubinstein would have just walked off, maybe after he found out Asa was chosen as the replacement Veteran, but not before.

This was the "good ending" I had planned for, and I didn't want to make arbitrary exceptions based on personalities, so I had everyone just quit. The whole story of this event was about why Heroica was almost done for before the current heroes stepped into the picture. I needed to get rid of the old heroes one way or another, no matter what the outcome of this game was.

Still, gives the QMs some new cameos/NPCs to throw into Quests.

By all means, all QMs should feel free to include any of the player characters that survived this game into their storylines, if they want to. I'd be honored if my cavalcade of zany ex-heroes made such an impression on someone!

Out of curiosity, Sandy, how would the sudden death round have worked?

Everyone would have gotten one vote, and all of those who wouldn't get any votes would have won.

Heron was revived because we thought he might have seen who killed him during the night.

Actually, nobody that was killed saw their killer during the course of the game.

personally I love my character and I have the insane idea to made it my second character  or at least connect her to my character.

As Weyrdág is closely connected to one of the Veterans, it is entirely possible that we will see a cameo of her in the upcoming quests. So please let me know when you have plans for her in the future, so I will know how to portray her then.

Oh Adeline! Yay, she is a part of Heroica even though everything started to expand way past my ability to keep up with!

As for the game. TOLD YOU I WAS HERO!!! Dude, I suck at mafia.... I signed up to have a go and see if I could get my head around a small number of mafia elements, put at a little bit of a disadvantage by the modem going dead at home, work blocking EB and my phone using all my internet allowance on an update! So it was fun but my ranger was bumbling because of my inability to play mafia...

Thanks Sandy, that was great fun.

I'd also like to join in the applause and say: Sandy, those are some pretty AWESOME character designs.

Only you could pass off some Sci-fii legs as medieval armour... and make it look good.

I guess I would've liked to see more decisions based on roleplaying rather than too much pushing to win the game. For instance: heroicans not bringing out investigation results on Nephilim because they are friends with him/her, some of the barbarians being more bloodthirsty in general, etc. But I understand that this isn't everyone's idea of fun.

That would be fun, but there'd be no point to having game mechanics at all if nobody wanted to win.

Oh, yes, and the characters are awesome, Sandy. I would have liked to see more people, myself included, really bringing out their characters more, but with the intense pace, especially of the first few days of the game, I think it made it pretty difficult. Poor ol' Pallas is probably dead by now, though, so I doubt we'll see an appearance of him again. :cry_sad:

That would be fun, but there'd be no point to having game mechanics at all if nobody wanted to win.

Well, of course some people would still be pushing for the win at all costs, but for others, they may have underlying agendas. Imagine if everyone was playing with their real Heroica character and the people you kill would be killed off forever. I doubt there'd be a mage genocide too quickly.

No response to my stuff, Sandy?

I'm glad you liked Zelphie, CMP. I actually really enjoyed her, and she was very powerful. I assume she's out there now, growing only more powerful, creating the best staff ever. I really enjoyed playing someone weird and heartless, it was a fun change from Boomingham who cares too MUCH generally. I may use Zelphie again one day, though I'll have to change her appearance. If anyone else wants to use her first, that's a-okay with me!

Your roleplaying, along with Zepher's, Scorpiox's, and Rumble Strike's, was some of my favorite of the whole event. :sweet::thumbup:

Thanks for the kind words, although playing a grumpy old man wasn't much of a stretch for me

This was something I wanted to bring up in-character, but couldn't because of the game mechanics and needing to keep myself from getting killed. Kharybdis, Calico, and their core deserved to die, simply because they were advocating a literal genocide. :sceptic:

To be honest, that's what I was expecting and wanting when I signed up. I knew the game would be Mafiesque, but it turned out to basically be full-on Mafia, and I was disappointed by that. :sceptic:

And we all know how you corrupted homicidal servants of an unholy fallen angel hate genocide.

We had to start somewhere. We laid the foundations for the town core, even if they crumbled miserably later.

I felt the same thing too, but maybe it was because they were certain I was scum.

Who possessed the other Topax, by the way? :look:

Shadows.

Didn't you read the Byblos bits? It totally wasn't our fault, we weren't in control of our own actions.

And yet you have sound enough mind to judge us when we're trying to find you slimy bastards...

You did good, though. Claiming neutral is usually a death sentence (believe me) but you pulled it off at just the right time to get everyone to believe you.

You went to an island with the word "Doom" in the title. You totally deserve it for being so un-genre savvy.

Wait... isn't the next part of the Hinkwell-Shadeux story arch going to focus on the two boys exploring that island?

I had been thinking of killing Kharybdis for a while even though I was pretty sure she wasn't Nephilim. Thankfully, since I was neutral, I could do so without betraying any faction. :classic: I've played Mafia once before on another forum and I have to say I had a lot more fun there. There was significantly more roleplaying, and less pure strategy. Since the strategy makes up the majority of the back and forth conversations, it also went at a much slower pace that made things easier to follow. This was definitely a fun experience, but not quite my cup of tea.

I think I remember noticing that when one of our members hosted a LEGO mafia game but on a non-LEGO forum...I forgot who it was. It was baseball-themed. The members there were newer to mafia as a whole, and there was a lot more roleplaying and decisions based on it. On EB, on the other hand, we've got players who've been playing it for a long time who introduce you to strategy by almost forcing you to use mafia strategy as soon as you start playing if you want to keep pace. (I prefer the strategic approach, but I'm sure you could predict that about me.)

Ha, yeah. In mafia school I formed an alliance with my in game sister based only on that, and it turned out fairly well. In my first real mafia game, I was still focused on RP and I even posted in chirps and whatnot with parenthetical translations and I didn't really understand mafia strategy, and I ended up placing the hammering vote that cost the town the game. (I voted for you, if I remember correctly. Brickdoctor for president! ) Since then I've done plenty of reading on Mafiascum and I'm playing much more pragmatically... Still not the best at reading people, though, but I like to think I'm improving. :sweet:

Oh, were you the one posting all the beeps and whistles and chirps in Jedi Temple? I kind of remember that now that you mention it.

I remember that baseball mafia game. I followed it closely. Was it TBW?
