Tomawogi Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Ok so my name isn't really Tomawogi, it's Tom. I'm from the UK and am just emerging from my own personal dark age (thanks to batman Lego for pulling me through). Trouble is getting back into lego is a bit tough, im a third year Uni student so money and time is tight, hopefully that will all change in a few months when i get a real job. I've been guesting it up around EB.com for a while now since i found it through googling about batman lego. Hmm i suppose my favourite sets of my childhood are Space Police, Ice Planet and the underwater one that had loads of yellow (i see the Aqua raiders looks like an updated version). Modern sets, i love Batman lego but the prices are disgracefully high. I like star wars lego, but it only really came good during my dark age so aside from the original X-wing and Jedi starfighter i havn't touched those sets. Im looking to get the complete Aquaraiders set soon so if you have any experiance of those please let me know if its worth it. Im not a big fan of Town/City sets, i don't know why but i think it has to do with me having a very overactive imagination as as kid so i always favoured the adventure/sci-fi kind of sets which had flashy parts and cool minifigs. Any way i'll hopefully see you all around, sorry for the essay but i had a lot to say after nearly ten years of brick blindness. Quote
Starwars4J Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Welcom to EB Tom! I'm a fourth year uni student, so I can relate about a lot of what you're saying ;-) As for the Aqua Raiders (not to be confused with Aquaraiders!), are you referring to the Aquazone type ships (which came in yellow as well, largely), or Divers (which was also somewhat yellow)? For reference: Aqua Zone Sets Divers Sets Quote
Asuka Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Hello and welcome! *y* You can find some good AquaRaiders reviews here. Have a good time around the board, I can remember well when I discovered EB, after I finnished my dark age, that I was stunned by the sheer mass of LEGO related information gathered at this place.... :-) Quote

Aquazone with the aquanauts and aquasharks, they're the sets, the base was las big set i got before my parents started saying I was too old for lego. Quote
simonwillems Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Hey welcome! Lots of university students around here, I happen to be one of them as well (first year that is) and I recognise the problems you are facing, especially the time shortage.... Got to go now.... you know why..... :-D Quote

Mr Hobbles Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Third year uni student here, in the UK too, what are y'all studying? :-) I'm personally studying Web Design & Development and a Cisco CCNA. I know the feeling about cash to buy LEGO with. :-( I remember the Aquaraiders, I had a few of those sets before my "dark ages". Had a big yellow sub and a couple of the smaller sets. Personally I've moved onto the town city sets now... Anyway, welcome to Eurobricks. It's a really nice community. :-P Nathan Quote
