i would like to win. but i won't.

The competition is just to much

also I a thinking that competitors are really great And I have more or Less mo hope To win :') i hope that The "free" sbrick Goes To A Good entry that takes low vote or someone that Can improve really much its MOC with The sbrick ;)

forse future contest i hope There Will be a battlebot contest *-* i could have a hope To win :') But i also think that for that kind offerte contest are necessary rules like one for The real one (for example 3 weight class And The first of each one wins The price) And sure a limit of max 2 different channel used for IR (4 functions) or robots can't fight together ;)

I like the idea of something pneumatic and no PF allowed. How about creating a universal building set: create a set of pieces with pneumatic element like 1 pump and a max. of 3 cylinders. The part range should enable the building of 3 different small/mid size models. Use a few parts a possible and make the set as versatile as possible.

This would lead to a great amount of different models and part sets.

I was/am not a very big fan of Pneumatics, so I didn't think about doing a contest. But since we did PF (SBricks), MT, it might be a good idea for the future.

When we do, I like the idea of limiting the contest to non-pf and possibly a restriction on the number of cylinders.

We definitely need a Pneumatics contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I can see the prices being 42043 Arocs!!

How about including a prize in every contest like the current contest for something outside the top 3 in order to encourage others to get building. I feel there are many that are put off due the very talented builders that we have here. Not only their building skills but their photo/video skills as well.

That's indeed something I want to do more often.

I think one motor should be allowed for a motorized compressor. :classic:

Adding a motorized compressor takes up an enormous amount of space (battery box + motor), disallowing it would maybe encourage people to build smaller :look: Also, it takes away some of the charm, IMO

But of course, if it is allowed, everyone can do what they want :classic:

It can be made a option....good builders will generally find room for the battery box.:roflmao:

I feel the same way.

^

That's the first thing that came to my mind too: where would I put it in that model

I could fit the motor where the fake engine is, but where do I leave that batterybox?

I like the idea of a prize outside the top 3 too. Competition tends to be quite fierce with these Eurobricks contests and I like the idea of one entry being picked for some special reason outside the votes. Could be called a "Eurobricks' staff most interesting/unique/original/whatever" award

Pneumatic contest should happen, though I honestly wouldn't know what I'd build for it. Feels like I already put in most of what I like doing with pneumatics in that little wheel loader

But what if you want to build something in a different scale that loader?

Well obviously if you build something larger there is a bigger chance you will be able to fit more stuff in it!:-P

My point was, one can make a small, impressive pneumatic model, but then you will probably have a hard time fitting a compressor inside it:-)

That being said, I'm not the one to make rules for future competitions, but I think it would be interesting to impose some limitations.. Then again, it would certainly be interesting with an all out, pneumatic mayhem contest as well! Feel free to use the word "Pneumayhem" by the way;-)

Why is a topic called "future contest setup" having a discussion about future contest themes? That's a whole other topic.

The only thing in the last page that is about the actual contest setup, is the idea of having a prize outside the top three. Which I am definitely in favor of. I rather see many smaller prizes, than a few large prizes that usually go towards people who have plenty of bricks anyway ('cause you don't just need a bit of talent, but also a good sized collection to build top-three-worthy models).

I can rename it to "General Contest Discussion".

Problem with multiple prizes is that sponsored prizes (by TLG) can only be shipped to max 3 contestants.

Then have a contest with the top 2 best entries get the prizes and another that fits the 'crazy' other criteria.

I think the idea for a eurobricks staff awarded prize rather than just top 3 is a good idea.

Also the pneumatic should be totally electricity free.

For me I like the idea of the varied competitions as it keeps my mind fresh !

The TC6 closing date caused some err... confusion and it was a simple and well explained matter.

For a staff award I can foresee complains, controversy and whatnot by those who don't understand, share or accept the staff decision. I worry some flame wars might ensue and that is always a burden on the moderators. Those unhappy may have their posts moderated by those already tired moderators that made the "wrong" decision with the prize "adding" offense to injury and...

Hmm perhaps I am a bit pessimistic :sceptic:

Prizes are always cool but ultimately not necessary. I think a great prize would be instructions! There are a lot of cool instructions that cost $$. We'd be supporting builders by buying copies for the contest.

Edit. Or prominent builders could give one set of instructions to the contest which would give that instruction tons of exposure and free advertising.

Or we could do a le mans supercar contest with regulations like the real ones, limited weight, engine cylinders, or even a hybrid with pf and pneumatics, I would try building something like that but I don't own any pneumatics. Or loader competition because everyone is crazy about building them, and that could satisfy their huge craving for them.
