Don't get your hopes up for a (Le Mans) Supercar contests. Neither for Loaders. I am more fan of original ideas with some limitations. Like Seasider said; keeps the mind fresh.

That's one of the reasons why I like original entries better than "yet another....".

The TC6 closing date caused some err... confusion and it was a simple and well explained matter.

For a staff award I can foresee complains, controversy and whatnot by those who don't understand, share or accept the staff decision. I worry some flame wars might ensue and that is always a burden on the moderators. Those unhappy may have their posts moderated by those already tired moderators that made the "wrong" decision with the prize "adding" offense to injury and...

Hmm perhaps I am a bit pessimistic :sceptic:

I will add yet another disclaimer to my list of Rules and Regulations, that I close the deadline when I see fit. So the closing date reflects the guaranteed time you can build. After that I will decide when I close it. No questions asked.

About the staff awarded prize; I might do a raffle. Randomly select a non Top 3 (or Top 2) contestant who will win the "3rd prize".

Prizes are always cool but ultimately not necessary. I think a great prize would be instructions! There are a lot of cool instructions that cost $$. We'd be supporting builders by buying copies for the contest.

Edit. Or prominent builders could give one set of instructions to the contest which would give that instruction tons of exposure and free advertising.

I second that idea. There are som really awsome instructions out there.

I would like to see a pneumatics competition too!

With no electrics and maybe limiting to 4 large cylinders.

And support giving a prize to other than top 3.

The instructions as prizes is a good idea too.

Actually it's more than good....it's an excellent idea. Kudos for Graydingo

An even bigger prize would be to actually make instructions. Might be fascinating to have a contest to design a certain type of (reasonably sized) model and the prize would be the creation of full instructions for it so everyone can build it.

I dont get what you guys are talking about...what instructions as a prize? Maybe there should be one contest without prizes, too? Just plain simple build of!

Instructions for this competition's winning model

I'm working on the LDD file of the competition's loosing model at the moment. Interested anyone?

Instructions you choose from Mocplans for example.

Or as Blakbird suggests; the winner gets instructions made for his MOC.

Sounds great! Care to volunteer to make instructions? We can discuss the details

I don´t think instructions will be good as prizes, people who want them, probably already have, people who don´t have them, it may be that they don´t want. I guess having pieces to win these contests have money to have bought any instructions, also you can have all the sets but always serve as pieces  . How about planes contest, machinery contest, cars contest, etc contest?. I misunderstood, my fault, instructions of the winner is a good idea.

Yes! The wrecker is awesome! If the contest was judged on looks alone I would have voted 1 for this moc. My dad used to have a Model A pickup. I would love to send him the parts for him to build this.

Actually it's more than good....it's an excellent idea. Kudos for Graydingo

:sweet: SO many great instructions out there! Winning created instructions is a great idea too.

I prefer contests were you don't need to have a certain parts such as Pneumatics as people who might be noobs (totally not talking about myself ;) ) with out these certain pieces can't compete and therefore not improve as much?

I wonder what TC7 will bring or may it will be MT2 ?

Can't wait for the next contest as it has seriously improved my building skills!

<apology>

It's been very quiet in here, which is basically my bad. I have been too busy with all kinds of stuff lately. I even need to finish a review I started writing a while back. Give it to me Alasdair: "what else is new?"

Rumor has it that a new contest might see the light of day somewhere in the near future.

The only way to make redemption for yourself is to create this contest very soon! :)

I know :sadnew: Hence the <apology>

Gbc comp would be good

A GBC contest could be interesting, but I will do something for GBC on a separate occasion. I think it might be too limiting for a dedicated Technic contest.

Besides, GBC is all about collaboration, rather than competition.

I'd like to see a challenge part contest, in which every builder must use a specified set of parts - maybe 50 or 100 must use part numbers (any color, to be more flexible), and with a total part limit.
