I am not one to do that...

btw, what device do you use, your emoji appeared...

The emojis mess up if I default to the iPad options. I have to remember to use the site selection not those on the keypad :sceptic:

So i m kind a curious will LEGO organise a contest on REBRICKABLE to win new Buggati cause it will be very nice from their side like they did with Porsche. I know there was not that as a prize but journey to HQ too, but what is your opinion is it worth to wait for something and not buy Bugatti instantly?

It would be on ReBrick, not Rebrickable, but it is possible.

I'd say wait. 42083 will be available for a while, so I'd try winning it first.

I'm also hoping for that contest.

In fact, there is already one contest, where You can get good prizes, also maybe get that chiron.

There is no such thing as a spare Chiron

TC14!

Is it car related contest? Sorry for asking, but soon?

Don't know yet. We'll see :sweet:

There are some amongst us that are willing to sponsor contests out of our own generosity (our own pockets) to promote Technic and give some of the young, up and coming builders a chance to shine, or some of you old crusty sea dogs a chance to stumble into something worth winning.  And if Lego does not see any value in that, I do, and so does @Jim

So stay tuned to this forum for some interesting contests...

TC14! ...soon?

Well I'd think it wouldn't be until AMS-2 has finished, but yeah, it is about time for another Technic contest...

@Jim In the last TC you couldn't get sponsored prizes from TLG so I thought TLG ended the sponsor policy.

The last contest was sponsored by TLG

We still have annual support for contests, however not unlimited. But we also get "care packages" which contain Technic sets, which I can use as I see fit. So, we still have enough options.

PS I know what you are referring to. The prizes indeed got cancelled due to some warehousing stuff, but at the end we did get the prizes and they were booked on the 2017 budget, so it was all good. Almost...one of the sets got lost, but that was sorted recently.

I will merge this topic with the Contest Discussion topic.

I mean, last contest... Just kinda hope we see some fun soon.

I love the contests as well, but I always find myself not being able to finish them on time.  I will have to devote more time and effort into the next contest for sure!  Looking forward to the theme this time around!

I am not sure when I will be starting the next contest, but I reckon we will do a small one for fun in the summer and a bigger one at the end of the year. I reckon will have more time/motivation to build when the days get shorter.

What if as a contest we had a Supersize vs. Miniaturize contest? It would work like this, a contest with two categories, with the following criteria:

Category A is Supersize. You take a set, and revamp it, at least doubling the amount of parts used in the set. I initially wanted to have a maximum part count threshold for this, but if someone wanted to enter a 42055 doubled in size, I'm all for that.

Category B is Miniaturize. You take a set, and shrink it, at least cutting the part count in half. I also wanted a limit, but if you can cut the number of parts in a small set in half, I'm all for that to.

Having two categories would allow for a lot of freedom for builder choice, but allow for some more definition, versus the last couple of contests.

What do y'all think?

@Saberwing40k, I think it has promise for a contest theme.  Does reduction mean only remove existing elements, or can you substitute elements as long as piece count is reduced? Or maybe we go by weight for both increase and decrease? Just some food for thought?
