So, a Technic Number Two contest.....I don't think we have enough brown parts for that

Number 1s have a bathroom context in English too.

In Dutch it’s roughly translated to the Small Mesage and Big Mesage

But I digress

In English it’s often used when talking to children to ask if they’ve done an no 1 or 2. But as you say @Jim that’s off topic so I suggest you just hurry up and put the competition up so we can all get working on small construction equipment before we all decide that we’d like to build large multi-engined propellor driven flying machines instead :)

Or simply double the TC9 limit and go for 20.000 CS.

You mentioned this limit earlier: Are we really talking bout 20000 cubic studs? This would be a cube with 27 studs... seems fairly big in my opinion. I just checked some official models and it's nearly the scale of the 42125? So rather far from a small build :D

Indeed. Maybe just go for the 10.000 CS we used in TC9.

I like 10,000 CS best, but I tend to like smaller MOCs. Also, there was some confusion during TC9 about using half studs for the CS formula, so I would appreciate some clarity for the contest.

I'm excited!

I will look into that and I will try to publish the rules tomorrow evening. But it will boil down to "Build a construction vehicle with a bounding box of max 10.000 CS".

So it's either:

  1. Small Scale No Car Contest
  2. Small Scale Construction Vehicle

More and better functions will (hopefully) result in a better score, but that's up to you voters

As in AND and not OR. My reasoning here is that In either of those scenarios we'll end up with trucks which again is pretty common theme for a MOC. So maybe forbidding the trucks explicitly should also be considered or explained as a part of the "no car" rule?

Similar to this thing, I want see 'working' machine contest. Like CNC, milling machine... Even I know this is more limited than transforming vehicle.

Like I said; I'm all ears when it comes to a theme :sweet:

Exactly, what I like aswell. Creating industrial machines that in real would produce anything we can find in shops. That would be an awesome theme. Making a manipulating machine that does something with a 'product'. And it would show that much more can be done with Technic then just anything that has wheels or tracks and drive round and round.

Can we do just normal ?x?x? size limit?

Hmm for construction machinery, this would not be good. Some are long but narrow (mobile cranes, graders, trucks), other tall (forklift) and some very wide (dozer). So the limit in CS are fine.

On a site note: Let Jim some peace of mind, he can't fulfill every wish ;-)

I'm afraid, participants will be very few, and that could be an issue for forum. Of course, it would would be interesting and challenging.

Where is the TC22 thread, Lebowski? Is there a chance we can start building this weekend? ;-)

You can already start building hehe.

All jokes aside; the renovation is taking up more time than anticipated this week, so I haven't had much time in the evening. To top if off we had some unexpected (isn't it always?!) water damage :sceptic:
(but let's not go off-topic).

Since we were aiming for a small contest, you can already start thinking about "construction equipment in 10.000 CS".

I am about to post the contest.

What do we think of the Pro (medal winners) and Regular (non medal winners) category for prizes? I think we liked that, right?

Good idea from my perspective. I think some really experienced builders with gold medals would be challenged to participate AND newer builders wouldn't be encouraged. So same voting scheme (formula 1), but in the end two rankings?

Has that been done in past contests?  I'd be curious to read up more on how it works.

Yeah, we did that once, but I was about to ask you guys in which contest hehe. The list of contents is in the index, so if you really want you can open all the discussion topics.
