KringlesBricks Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) UPDATED: 10/29/2013 Added progress pictures As time went by I patiently waited to see if LEGO Creator would release a Train Station. My patience ended after a 3-4 year wait. I decided to go all in and create a train station from scratch using LDD as my aid. Below is the construction phase currently in progress of the Train Station. The building will sit on 6 green plates total (96 studs X 64 Studs). The station will have a cafe/bar, waiting / ticketing area, and a baggage / cargo area along with features and landscaping. The building has a current brick count of 6500 pieces. I'm sure when it's all said and done...I'll have close to 10,000 bricks. Below are actual construction phases of the project: Enjoy... Edited October 29, 2013 by KringlesBricks Quote
Herky Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 very cool, I am wondering why TLG doesn't release a station, it would make total sense for the collector base, I like the use of green space too, plus your brick wall leading into the white picket fence is great, can't imagine 10K bricks in total, great job! Rick Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This will be a MOC Modular Building...so, I didn't know wether to post this in Town or Train since it falls into either category. Train stations go in Train Tech, so I've moved it over there. Good luck completing your station. Quote
Faron Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This is very cool. I like the color choice for the awnings Quote
JopieK Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Nice job! Why don't you also introduce yourself, we are all interested in your train experiences etc. of course here in Train Tech. Quote
KringlesBricks Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Sure...I am Kris, and I am new to the forum; but, have been an avid LEGO fan since the day my father bought me a small LEGO fire engine for my birthday when i was 5 or 6 years old. Then when I was a Teen, my parents bought me the LEGO 9v Train Set 4563 I got into the train and modular LEGO builds and MOC's when the first Cafe and Market Street came out as the start of the Modular buildings by Lego. I started to collect all these buildings...and thought of adding a custom train to create a "city". I felt LEGO didn't have a LEGO passenger train that suited my taste...so, I built a custom Passenger Train. Then, after the train biuld, I came to realize...I need a station for this custom Train! ha-ha. I only have a passenger train and this WIP Train Station for my train building history - I'm hoping to expand my MOC's in Trains and city layouts. Here is a small update...I added a pathway to the platform and cafe with a few seating and planter boxes... Quote
Lazarus Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Haha i got into lego train with the same train set and still run it on my layout after 22years of having it. Quote
KringlesBricks Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Updated Pictures. I redid some of the cafe last week, and just completed the Front Entrance last night and this morning. Enjoy as the WIP continues! Quote
Teessider Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 That's a great station with lovely architectural details. I look forward to seeing more. Quote
KringlesBricks Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 Work still continues. Just ordered another 500 pieces from brick-link to create a front overhang, and a Haunted House from S@H for Sand Green Pieces and windows for the warehouse that'll go to the left of the station. Quote
KringlesBricks Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 Updated progress...almost finished with the exterior of the station. I only have the chimney on the back and figure how to connect the back of the curved window ceiling with the back roof... Enjoy... Quote
dr_spock Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Wow, this is looking really good. You'll have to pose some trains with it. Quote
ronenson Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Very awesome. I only miss one major ingredient: track Quote
KringlesBricks Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Wow, this is looking really good. You'll have to pose some trains with it. Thanks! ...As soon as I reunite with my trains and Legos this December, I'll get a few shots with my custom train and Horizon pulling into the station. I miss my bricks - they are in Indiana, and I'm in New Hampshire. I was unable to take all my Legos with me when I moved from Indiana to New Hampshire. Very awesome. I only miss one major ingredient: track Ha-Ha...yes, indeed! Same as above...too bad my track is back at my parents, along with some pieces I want to incorporate. I added a warehouse to the side of the station...still a work in progress as Lego Station continues it's build. Edited November 6, 2013 by KringlesBricks Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 This is really nice with loads of differing details and shapes in the build, this makes it interesting to look at from many angles and multiple times as you always notice something different ech time you look at it. Quote
ScotNick Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Your station is really coming out very well! Do you have a specific plan (in mind, drawn,...)? I really like that design . Brick on! Quote
KringlesBricks Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) I am finally able to get back on this project; I relocated to Orlando. I reunited with a few more of my Lego pieces and Horizon express, and track to get moving on this Train Station again. Here is a teaser of the TRAIN sign being placed in front of the building with plans of surrounding it a flower bed, and walk way. Thought I throw in another update picture :) Stay tuned...more details to follow.. Edited January 28, 2014 by KringlesBricks Quote
ScotNick Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Looks really nice, the stairs that go down on the platform are really well designed , but why is that platform in the middle, when there is one on the left? Shouldn't that move to the right side? Quote

KringlesBricks Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 Anyone like more pictures? Emmet has been visiting the construction site...evaluating the site job. Working on the Warehouse Truck Parking (between the building and grey fencing) Quote
